Experts say dark colors like denim draw them in big time, making wears look like potential meals. A bush walker near Pemberton recently faced a huge swarm while dressed in dark blue jeans. She was shocked by how many landed on her. Following a friend's tip, she switched to khaki pants the next day and barely saw any flies at all. The bites hurt a lot but do not spread diseases. Some folks get allergic reactions, so treatments like ice packs or anti-histamines help. Severe swelling means seeing a doctor right away. Intimologist Brian Lesser explains that flies mistake dark shades for warm animals like kangaroos or even car tires. He wears full denim outfits himself when collecting samples to attract them easily.
