Thank you for the flexibility on moving to Tuesday instead of Wednesday for our normal conversation, but it's nice. We had all of the free agency stuff happening yesterday. So we can we can dive right into it.

2:17Oh, so so much hashtag sports and you absolutely love it, especially coming out of the month of February after the Super Bowl. Danny Parkins favorite free agent signing from Monday in the legal tampering period was what and why? So it's boring, but I think Tyler Winterbaum, because if you're the Raiders and you're so bad, and you are going to take a quarterback and apparently play him, partly because of his age, partly because you trust him, you move on from Geno Smith, like it appears that they're going to draft from Fernando Mendoza and play him. You have to put him in a situation where you can get a true evaluation of him. Well, you can't you can't draft him and have no talent around him. And like, genty and bowers are nice weapons, but you need to be sure that the offense is going to be, you know, the plays are going to be called correctly and the protections are going to be identified correctly. And so I think the similarity of the blocking schemes that the Ravens ran

3:17and that clincubiac ran with the Seahawks that he's going to want to do with the Raiders, I just, you know, arguably the best center in the league, 25 years old, three time pro bowler in four years, plays every snap. Like I just, I think it's a very, very good fit and like part of it's the Linderbaum piece, but the bigger piece of it is, it gives you a reasonable opportunity to evaluate Mendoza. So I, I loved the signing and 25 year old kid signing a three year deal to go live in Vegas from his 26, 27, 28 years for 60 guaranteed. I mean, do you think he's happy? Well, I'll tell you what, I think I actually, I thought about this yesterday, right? And it's such a brilliant deal by the agent, right? Because now he's going to re-enter free agency again with the chance to break the bank before he's 30. I'll tell you what, just speaking for myself, I won't speak for you. I probably could, but I'll only speak for me. I wouldn't have made it. Like that would be, not only would that be my last contract in the NFL, but I'm not, I'm not sure I would live to see age 28.

4:20Go live in Vegas. Here's 60 million dollars, 25 years old. I would, dude, I wouldn't have made it. Yeah, no, true, but like you have to, you can't put ourselves into that situation because like, we also wouldn't have the discipline to be a professional athlete and to wake up and to work out and to do the two of days and the whole thing. So like, I assume Tyler Winterbaum will survive. And like, hopefully he just like has like a house tab at Nobu, but for the, but like he is, it is, you're, it's an excellent point that it sounds really fun. And then at the end of it, you're like, wow, I would have some crippling addictions. I felt so, yeah, we'd be doing two of days blackjack table in the morning, blackjack table at night. And you know, just when you, when we were like primarily a betting show, I would guess like, would you move to Vegas? And it was like, no, no, I need to stay like my little bubble here in New York. If I wanted, I just know myself. So Tyler Lindervom and we haven't touched on it yet here on the show. We'll do the Raiders, the Titans, the Jets and much more coming up next hour.

5:21Lindervom is your favorite signing. I love the rationale behind it. Was there a signing yesterday, Danny, that you did not like an NFL free agency. So Lindervom, your favorite, give us one that maybe you were not as high on from Monday and NFL free agency. So I understand supply and demand. I get that Alec Pierce was the best free agent wide receiver available. And I get that there was a large demand for a premium position and there was a lot, a low supply like Mike Evans is maybe the next best and he's 33 years old. And I know that he led the NFL in yards per catch the last two years. And I know that Daniel Jones likes him. And I know that he likes Daniel Jones. But Alec Pierce is not worth almost $30 million a year for 47 catches in a season. He's just not. And I think the res, like you get to a place where you have to pay Alec Pierce that much money because you went all in with Daniel Jones. You went all in on the sauce garden or trade. Daniel

6:27Jones gets hurt. You transition tag game. And it's like, well, if Daniel Jones throwing the Alec Pierce was second in the NFL of any quarterback wide receiver duo of yards per catch and they like each other. And now we're stuck with Daniel Jones and we have no other first round picks to pivot out of. Obviously we have to towing down this decision path that we've gone down. And if the wide receiver likes the quarterback and the quarterback likes the wide receiver, we said to do it. But now all of a sudden you find yourself paying $60 million a year to sauce gardener and Alec Pierce. And another 37 to Daniel Jones, I just, I think that there's a very low ceiling on a team that's constructed that way. I tough to disagree there. And this is like choose your own adventure book where you only have one choice. You don't get. Right. Exactly. Turn to page 69 and you go eight and nine this season with Indianapolis with Daniel Jones. That's it. That's exactly. And again, like if there were six free agent wide receivers that people liked, like it wouldn't have cost that much money and there would have been some optionality there. But so like good for Alec Pierce,

7:31he used his leverage to get paid generational wealth. But like, come on, he's not in that class of player. Can I, I want to push back on that a little bit and he hasn't been yet. So I can argue with that. Isn't his upside to be a top 10 receiver in the NFL like this year? I mean, yeah, a lot, a lot has to go right. A lot has to go right for that. I just, I haven't seen him do it with the volume. Like, like, is he, is he Deshaun Jackson? Or is he going to actually, like, can he, can he be Amon Ross Saint Brown? I mean, I think he can, I think he can maybe kind of be both potentially. Okay. Well, then, well, then it's a good deal. Like, then, then it's a good deal. Like, I just, I just, I need to, I need to see him have a higher volume of target share production, versatility of routes, all of those things. And it's just, it's a lot of money to bet on the comic. Isaiah Likley is a similar thing. Like, Isaiah Likley, I love the

8:34eye test. You and I both know the numbers, but you and I also both obsess over the amount of football that we watch. Isaiah Likley looks the part. Isaiah Likley has also never had more than 550 yards in a season. Like, you know, it's, it's a, his career high in touchdowns is six. I think he had 11 first downs last year. I know he was hard. He's never had more than 60% of snaps played in a season. Like, it's just, you're betting on the athletic specimen. And sure, and the salary cap has gone up. I get it. But you are betting on future production, not based on anything that you know actually happened on the field. I love this. And like, I like the signing to be fair as a Giants fan, but Giants fans that are like, Oh, well, like John, John Harbaugh knows him from their time in Baltimore. Yeah, you mean by like, he was the number two behind Mark Andrews? Like, yes, this was not, this is not like telling Winslow senior that the Giants just signed. Giants fans are making a huge deal about it. I like it, but I can't get crazy over it. Yeah. And again, like, we have to and myself included. And like, I know the salary cap well,

9:39like you have to, okay, the salary cap went up X percent. The most recent guy gets signed for the most money. Like, you have to recalibrate the money and say, like, just because he's making more per year than, you know, fill in the blank player, like then Sam Laporta doesn't mean he's better than Sam Laporta. But like, you have to, you have to factor that in for like when they signed and how many years they signed for. I get all of that. But it's, it's a huge risk. I haven't seen that guy play 80% of snaps ever. And they're going to be asking him to do that. So it's a, it's a big jump when you talk about free agency. It's why, it's why the best players don't hit free agency anymore. I, I, I will say I like it from that wheel. Go get off the Giants in a second here. It's in a Giants fan. Uh, I do like now that they'll be able to have regular two tight-end sets with Isaiah, likely and Theo Johnson kind of bring this offense kicking and screaming into like, into where offenses are headed right now. 10:39today with Kenneth Walker to the chiefs Mike Evans to the Niners to really good players to Super Bowl champions changing teams to teams that we think could contend for Super Bowl 61. Your thoughts Walker to the chiefs Evans to the Niners. So Walker to the chiefs is easy. I think that that has to have 100% approval. Like it is a massive need and they weren't going to be able to draft Jeremiah Love at 9. Like he wasn't, he wasn't going to be there. And the chiefs have a serious question at wide receiver one and they have serious questions in their secondary and for their past rush. So they had too many needs to fill with the ninth pick and the 29th pick and the draft when you're getting Travis Kelsey's swan song season and and the homes coming off of the ACL injury like Kenneth Walker only averaged 13 carries per game in the regular season last year. And he had nine more explosive runs than the chiefs did as a team.

11:44Like he's just, he's good. Is he a perfect player? No. Would Andy Reed like him to be a little bit better of a pass catcher to run the screen game more effectively? Of course. But he is, I heard you call him earlier the best running back my homes has ever played with. It's objectively true. It's a great point by you. It's a great fit. They just threw money at a need and they solved the problem. So I think everybody should like that fit. Mike Evans, I think will be fascinating in a Kyle Shanahan system. He has been, he's had the opportunity to leave Tampa before and he's never left Tampa. And so I kind of am surprised to see it happen. But then again, back to the Alec Pierce point, you look at the money. Do you think Mike Evans 24 months ago thought that when he was 33 years old, he was going to get a $60 million contract offer when he's coming off of a season with injuries like no chance. And Tampa just couldn't offer him that deal because they

12:45need to be in the Trey Hendrix and sweepstakes like they need to reallocate some resources to the defensive side of the ball after they resigned Godwin and they drafted Ibuka. So my guess is is that Evans wanted to be a buck for life. And then he looked around and he was like, I can go play for Kyle Shanahan in my mid 30s and sign one of the biggest contracts he's ever signed coming off an injury year. So my guess is he was just like, I didn't want to leave Tampa, but he just had to do it. And of course, it's a great football fit. I love it. And I detailed there are a couple reasons why I think you could be negative about it, right? Because 33 coming off an injury has lost some speed. I just have some, I have infinite faith in Kyle Shanahan. And if Kyle Shanahan Danny thinks this is going to work out, then I believe it also. Yeah. So I had my researcher look into why receivers in their age 30. That was a nice little humble brag that you snuck in there. You know what? My researcher is Gemini AI that I pay 1999 a month for. But go ahead, please continue. Hey, it's a good gig. We have, we have, we have summit the first things first in Fox

13:49words. But like wide receivers in their age 32 or older season in their first year with new teams. There's not a lot of impressive seasons out there. It's hard. It's not, it's a, it's a, it's a cliff historically for wide receivers in terms of athleticism and production and then new team. But like, I think there's a world where he has a Devante Adams type season where it's like, oh, Mike Evans, not a number one, not, you know, another 1000 yard season. And I don't remember if Devante Eclipse 1000 yards or not, but like double digit touchdowns, you know, like Devante led the league in touchdowns this past year. Like I could just see all of those back shoulder throws and this, you know, scheming of open inside the 10 types of situations. Like I easily could see 10 to 12 touchdowns for Mike Evans, even if it's not one of the six most productive seasons of his career. 700 89 yards last year for Devante Adams, but 14 receiving touchdowns for Devante. Uh, can't, can, uh, can't have you leave without talking about the bears. I, I,

14:54I like the Kobe Bryant signing. Devon Bush. I don't know. Thank you for tremendous admins for my giants. Give me 30 seconds on the bears to rap. Listen, it's, it's a little underwhelming considering they apparently were the second bitters in the Max Crosby sweepstakes, but I don't like giving up two first round picks for non quarterbacks, much less guys who are 29 years old, uh, when all the other ones are 25, 26 or 27. So I think that's one they might actually regret, not being the highest bitter on, uh, you know, they'll lose buyered and brisker both safeties now most likely because of the Kobe Bush move, but I agree he's very versatile. He's a good player coming over from a Super Bowl champion. So, you know, I, I do think that there's still a big move to be made, either an aggressive trade up in the draft, uh, or something at left tackle. Uh, but yeah, you know, uh, a, a fine day one of free agency and, you know, we'll, we'll, we'll see if they keep adding around the margins. If there's an aggressive trade for the Chicago bears on the draft, who would it be for in 10 seconds? You, you got to think front seven help. Like, you got, you got, you got, you got to think front seven help. Uh, if they were that aggressive

15:57ongoing up for Crosby, uh, you got to think it would be moving up to get an ad rusher that they like given that that's the, the strength by everyone's account in this draft. Now, I feel like I want to do like 10 minutes later in the show on how Nick Costos would die if given $60 million in his mid 20s to live in Las Vegas. Danny, you're the best. Yeah.
