Welcome to the celebration of the Daily TV Mass. I'm Father Peter Tirana and to their homilist is Deacon Robert Kinghorn. We know that this television Mass brings meaning to the lives of tens of thousands of Canadians across her land and around the world. 1:03The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries. I confess to Almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do. Through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault, therefore I ask Blessed Mary ever virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. May Almighty God have mercy on us. Forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life. Lord have mercy. Christ of mercy. Christ of mercy.

2:04Lord have mercy. Let us pray. O God, who have taught us to chase in our bodies for the healing of our souls, enable us, we pray, to abstain from all sins, and strengthen our hearts to carry out your loving commands. For our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. A reading from the book of the prophet Daniel. I, Daniel, turn to the Lord God, to seek an answer by prayer and supplication with fasting and sackcloth and ashes. I pray to the Lord my God and made confession, saying, Ah, Lord, great and awesome God. Keeping covenant and steadfast love with those who love you and keep your commandments. We have sinned and done wrong, acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and ordinances. We have not listened to your servants and prophets who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, and our ancestors,

3:10and to all the people of the land. Righteousness is on your side, O Lord, but open shame. As at this day falls on us, the people of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, those who are near and those who are far away, in all the lands to which you have driven them because of the treachery that they have committed against you. Open shame, O Lord, falls in us, our kings, our officials, and our ancestors, because we have sinned against you. To the Lord our God, belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by following his laws, which he set before us by his servants, the prophets. The word of the Lord.

4:30Let your compassion come speedily to meet us, for we are bright, very low. Lord, do not deal with us as our sins deserve. Help us, O God, of our salvation, for the glory of your name. Deliver us and forgive our sins for your namesake. Lord, do not deal with us as our sins deserve. Let the groans of the prisoners come before you. According to your great power, preserve those doomed to die. Then we, our people, the flock of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever.

5:39From generation to generation, we will recount your praise. Lord, do not deal with us as our sins deserve. Praise to you, Lord, King of eternal glory. Praise to you, Lord, King of eternal glory. Your words, Lord, are spirit and life. You have the words of everlasting life. Praise to you, Lord, King of eternal glory.

6:46The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Reading from Holy Gospel, a calling to look. Glory to the Lord. Jesus said to His disciples, be merciful just as your Father is merciful. Do not judge and you will not be judged. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be put into your lap. For the measure you give will be the measure you get back.

7:50The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord, Jesus Christ. What a brilliant first reading we had today, I feel, as we are on the beginning of a journey through Lent. Today, in that message, we heard about the prophet Daniel. Daniel crying out to God. It was a time when people of Israel had been in exile and they were just returning from exile. And Daniel was speaking on behalf of the people to God. He called out to God and said, we have sinned and done wrong. We have acted wickedly and rebelled. How often do we cry out like that?

8:51How often do people cry out like that? Daniel didn't say, oh, the devil made us do it. He said, we have sinned and we need your mercy, Lord. And in many ways, we start the season of Lent like that, don't we? We have ashes. Ashes put in their foreheads as a sign of repentance that indeed we have sinned. And we call upon the Lord to come back. In fact, I think we're perhaps the only people in the world that confess or sinned, isn't it true? You don't hear people going around and say, I have sinned. I have sinned. No. We always find someone else to blame. But in this reading from Daniel, Daniel says, yes, Lord, we need your mercy. We need your blessing as well. And even at the beginning of mass, we confess or sinned.

9:51Confess to Almighty God that we have sinned and we ask for forgiveness. And every time we do that, the Lord treats us as a prodigal son. Remember, prodigal son, yes, you're my son. You're alive. You're my prodigal daughter. You're alive. Always welcome to back at that moment. You know, I think, as I say, we're the only people in the world that confess or sins. Now, I've often mentioned a priest called Father Greg Boyle. I worked in Los Angeles with the people who are on the streets, the gang members out there. He said something recently, one of his courts I read, which at first confused me and astounded me. He said that God does not protect us from everything, but God sustains us in everything.

10:57I thought that was a bit confusing it, but I thought that was God's job to protect us. No, since that harm comes our way in life, disappointments come our way in life. But God always sends people to sustain us. God has decided to work through people for unknown reason. I wouldn't have done it if I was God. No, but God trusts people. It's when we're hurting, when we're sinned, God sends people to be with us. Just as He sent us, Son Jesus to be with us. So this is how God has decided to work in the world. And so often when tragedy hits us in life, those heroes and heroines that come to support us in our grief, in death, disappointing times in life, God sends people to be with us.

11:58People like you and me, we are the ones who support one another in life. This is our call as followers of Jesus. We are the people who have to sustain others, so that when we sustain others, when we see people who are hurting, just by our presence, but the very fact that we're willing to stop and be with them and look them in the eyes and say, I love you. I'm here to help you. People can get faith and they can get hope in their life that they can continue. This simple act of love can sustain people. And when they have a faltering faith, it's this simple act of love that can renew their faith, revitalize their faith, and let them know that they can go on.

13:00It's just the same way Daniel did that today. In that reading, he called upon the people, he said, yes, we can go on together. God loves us. God has forgiven us. We can go when we admit our sins and turn to the Lord, there's always forgiveness in our life. Now the gospel today that we just heard, this gospel tells us how God uses us to sustain other people. It's explained how we do it. It said, be merciful. Do not judge. Do not condemn. Forgive. You see this is how we sustain one another. Or as we often say, we show up, we listen, we don't judge. We don't try to fix people.

14:02This really, for the church and the street, the ministry I have in the street, is the one message I bring to people. People who have been hurt so deeply in their lives, and because of that perhaps have turned to drugs or other ways of soothing the pain in their life. When you can show up, look at them and say, God loves you. God knows what you've been through and God is with you. You are a good person. This can change people's lives. When all of the time all they've heard is they're no use, they're no good. But as Daniel said in the reading today, we turn to the Father. Yes, there's been sense in our life, but we know you are the one that can protect us and save us. And it's always through others. For people like you and me, that people can live to be changed.

15:06A little bit by little bit. So I think today this message is we begin this season of Lent. There should be people throughout Lent that reach out to others and let them know that God loves us because we love them. And here they are together. One united in the Father, like prodigal daughter, prodigal son. We have returned and the Lord says, welcome. I've been waiting for you. You're amazing. And so as we continue, let us pray together. Let us pray to the Father who said Jesus to act through you and through me, to witness to God's sustaining love in the world. So let us pray for those who are facing martyrdom around the world because of their faith.

16:10So that the Holy Spirit will sustain them in the witness to the love of God. We pray to the Lord. For all those in our daily TV mass prayer intentions book, we pray to the Lord. This month's community prayer is for fathers, grandfathers and protectors that they may lead with wisdom and humility. Inspired by the quiet faith of Saint Joseph, we pray to the Lord. Heavenly Father, as we come before you in this lented season to confess our sins and ask for mercy, grant that as we hear the words of your Son, Jesus, and receive Him in the Eucharist, we may follow His way of love in our daily lives. Amen.

17:18Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation. For through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you. Fruit of the earth and work of human hands will become for us the bread of life. Blessed be God forever. Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation. For through your goodness we have received the wide way of for you. Fruit of the vine and work of human hands will become our spiritual drink. Blessed be God forever. All praise be to God, thank you. Prayer brothers and sisters that My sacrifice in yours may be acceptable to God the Almighty Father.

18:21All praise be to you. Except in your goodness, these are prayers, O Lord, and set free from worldly attractions, those you allow to serve the heavenly mysteries. Through Christ our Lord. Amen, Lord. The Lord be with you. And with your slayer spirit. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just. It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation. Always and everywhere to give you thanks. Lord, holy Father, almighty in eternal God through Christ our Lord. For by your gracious gift each year, your faithful await the sacred, pascal feasts with the joy of minds made pure, so that more eagerly intent on prayer and on the works of charity and participating in the mysteries by which they have been reborn. They may be led into the fullness of grace that you bestow on your sons and daughters. And so with angels and archangels, with wrongs and dominions, and with all the hosts and powers of heaven, we sing to him or for glory. As without end, we acclaim.

19:26Holy, holy, holy Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. You are deed holy, O Lord, and all you have created right that gives you praise. For through your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ, by the power and working of the Holy Spirit, you give life to all things and make them holy, and you never cease to gather people to yourself so that from the rising of the Son to its setting, a pure sacrifice may be offered to your name. Therefore, Lord, we humbly implore you for the same spirit, graciously, make holy. These gifts we are brought to you for consecration,

20:28that they may become the body and blood of your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ, at whose command we celebrate these mysteries. For on the night he was betrayed, he himself took bread, and giving you thanks, he said the blessing, broke the bread, and gave it to his disciples, saying, take this, all of you, and eat of it. For this is my body, which will be given up for you. BELL RINGS In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and giving you thanks, he said the blessing, and gave the chalice to his disciples, saying, take this, all of you, and drink from it. For this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins.

21:30Do this in memory of me. BELL RINGS The mystery of faith. We proclaim your death, O Lord, and profess your resurrection until you come again. Therefore, O Lord, as we celebrate the memorial of the saving passion of our Son, his wondrous resurrection and ascension into heaven, and as we look forward to his second comment, we offer you, and thanks, given, this holy and living sacrifice. Look, we pray upon the ablation of your church, and recognize in the sacrificial victim, by whose death you will to reconcile us to yourself. Granted, we who are nourished by the body and blood of your Son,

22:30and filled with this holy spirit, may become one body, one spirit in Christ. May he make of us an eternal offering to you, so that we may obtain an inheritance with your elect, especially with the most blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, who blesses Joseph or spouse, who blesses apostles and glories martyrs, and with all the saints, on whose constant intercession in your presence, we rely for unfailing help. May the sacrifice of our reconciliation, and we pray, O Lord, advance the peace and salvation of all the world. You please to confirm in faith and charity your Pilgrim Church honor, with your servant, Leo, or Pope, and Francis, or Bishop, the order of Bishop, Saul, the clergy, and the entire people you've gained for your own. This is graciously to the prayers of this family, whom you have summoned before you. In your compassion and merciful Father, gather to yourself all your children, scattered throughout the world, to our departed brothers and sisters, and to all we're pleasing to you with their passing from this life, give kind and met and steerking them. There we hope to enjoy forever the fullness of your glory,

23:31through Christ our Lord, through whom you bestow on the world, all that is good. Through him and with him and in him, O God, Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, O glory and honor is yours, forever and ever. Amen. At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say, our Father, warred in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy glory and honor is yours, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all the stress.

24:31As we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. May we keep in power and glory and honor us now and ever. Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you, look not in our sins, but in the faith of your church, and graciously grant your peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. Amen. The peace of the Lord, be with you always. Amen. Let us share with one another a sign of Christ peace. Peace. Peace to you. Peace. Peace. Peace. Peace. Peace. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world. Have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world. Have mercy on us.

25:33Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world. Grant us peace. Behold the Lamb of God. Behold Him we take away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word my soul shall be healed.

26:33Amen. Please join me now in this act of spiritual communion. My Jesus, I believe that you are present in this holy sacrament of the altar. I love you above all things and I passionately desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come spiritually into my soul so that I may unite myself wholly to you, now and forever. Amen. Amen.

27:37Let us pray. May this communion of Lord cleanse us of wrongdoing and make us airs to the joy of heaven. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. The Lord be with you. May Almighty bless you. The Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Go in peace, glorify the Lord by your life. Thanks be to God. Our thanks to our donors for the gift of this month. We gather each day in the Father's love. We gather with Jesus his song. We gather in faith with the Spirit of God. We gather together as one. We offer our peace. We offer our love. We offer the good deeds we've done.
