It is the Daily Box at 1 o'clock, one month out from the 2026 NFL draft. All right. Today, Douglas, we're going over to NFL.com for their latest mock draft, number one overall, the cornerback out of Indiana, Fernando Mendoza goes to Las Vegas, Ritter's number two, Carvelle Reese, the edge roster from Ohio State to the New York Chats. Number three, the Arizona Cardinals take Francis Mauioga. I think I got his name right. Butchered his name last week. I think it's Mauioga, the offensive tackle out of Miami to the Arizona Cardinals. Number four, the Titans take David Belly, edge roster out of Texas Tech. And at number five, the New York Giants, we've seen this a couple times now, take Jeremiah love the running back out of Notre Dame. All right. Let's scroll down and see what the Eagles are doing here. Here at number 23, this is a new name and a new position. I think we might see more of these leading up to the draft at number 23.
The Philadelphia Eagles select, Makai Lemon, wide receiver out of USC. And this is what they wrote about it. Lemon is pegged. There's a slot receiver, but he can play outside just fine when Devante Smith works inside. This pick becomes even more important if AJ Brown is down here. Your thoughts on Makai Lemon out of USC? Oh, what? 5-11, 192 pounds. Just a look about what? 20 pounds heavier than Devante. Then Devante. His equivalent is, I'm going to say Brown. Well, that's a big one. Yeah. Yeah, but there's a couple of small receivers out there. I mean, listen, if you talk about Hollywood, if you move on from aging, you have Hollywood out there. To have him on the team, I think that's a big boom, but that's two really, even though Devante has played well, there's a couple of small receivers out there. So you don't love the idea of lemon and Devante? Well, I feel like it could be a boom, but when you talk about having two smaller receivers and a guy that you want to push to feel that's a little bit older, that's a little tough.
That's a little tough. It would be an interesting pairing. I mean, the question I would have is, because the way they frame him is he's a slot that could be coming outside guy. How likely is that? Now, people said that about I'm in Ross St. Brown, and he- And Justin Jefferson? Yeah. That's a good point. He's around the same spot. Now, physically, I see the comp to I'm in Ross. He kind of looks like him. They both went to USC. So maybe that's part of why I see it when I see the highlights. But I'm in Ross was like a third or fourth round pick, and obviously it was way better than that. Yeah, this guy's a burnado. I mean, not a burnado, but he's a, you know, a highly, a tie to recruit. I kind of like the idea of my guy, I like him. I think he could- the way he seemed to play in college, he looks like a guy that comes in the NFL and contributes right away. So, you know, I'm looking at the draft as if the AJ's dealt, which I imagine he will be. They're going to take a receiver somewhere early. Is it the first second or first or second round? I don't know. But I would, I'd have met- I'd be surprised if he went into round three if AJ was dealt, and they don't have another receiver here through the draft.
So, could be McKay Lemmon, 5-11-192, and a 30-inch arm. So he was a very productive player at USC. What do you think, Kyle? McKay Lemmon, first round pick receiver? I can get down with it. I think I'm still partial to Omar Cooper. I do like him. I did see something last week that Omar Cooper was coming in here for a visit, you know, one of the top 30 visits. Yeah. Good. I mean, he reminds me of Devon's hand away that he steps up big in like playoff time. Yep. And he keyed him and Devon's there, like top, top one and two, and- To my back and rear of the receiver. Yeah, in terms of like a playoff here, let's forget about the stand I saw last. But last or two years ago, it was 24, Omar Cooper averaged 21 yards per reception. And to Hugh's point, Cooper, I haven't looked at his measurables, but he's he just looks bigger yet. He's very similar size. He's six foot, uh, one ninety nine. Okay. Well, a little bit bigger than Lemmon. So, yeah, Lemmon's 5-11-192. Yeah. I mean, look, you're not going to find players that are as big as AJ Brown. No, we're not going to find, you're going to replace it.
And I'm not going to hold that against a young man. Not going to hold that against him. You're going to hold the line on this one? Hold the line. I mean, I'm going to hold the line. No, I'm cool with McKay. McKay Lemmon. You said you said you said you said a tepid on McKay. I'm not I'm not being tepid. No, you're good. Little tepid on McKay Lemmon. All right, McKay Lemmon. The latest mock draft. We'll do another one coming up tomorrow as well. 215-5-92-94-94. Get your board. Let's go to shoot in Miner'sville. Shoot what's up? Shoot. Hey, morning guys live from Alaska this morning. Alaska. Okay. What are you doing in Alaska? You take a cruise there? Oh, that's right. No. No, didn't take a cruise here again. You're not not possible. I know you've come around on that thankfully, but yeah, it's beautiful up here, guys. You know, it's awesome. I'm flying back in the Philly on Thursday, catching an opening day, and I'm really excited for that. You don't catch that boat? There's no boat. There's not a bicycle. No, no, no. I'm catching a couple times. I guess it kind of takes too much time
if you want to be here for an open day. I get it. Well, it's also in 2026. We have we have better way to travel than boat from Alaska. In the boat. It's just come on now. So shoot, what are you thinking on the fills? You're going to be an opening day? You're giving them a clean slate? Or are you holding on to the past here? Yeah, I'll be an opening day, but I'm not giving them a clean slate. I have for the past couple of years, and I'm tired of being hurt, Joe. You know, I'm tired of going into the season, thinking that things are going to be different. And I'm tired of getting hurt, and I'm not putting my trusted in this year. Matter of fact, I'm going to go so far as to say, I really believe that they have a better chance of missing the playoffs outright than matching their win total from last year. And it really hurts to say because I love this team. I love the players and everything. It's just I'm tired of going into the season every year saying, you know what? This is probably going to be the year when it's the same guys. Plus, you know, two or three rookies. So I'm just very type of going into the season. I'm excited.
You know, I'm going to be excited to go to the game. But man, I'm just, I'm very reserved on this year, guys. Really reserved. I could tell, I'll say this about the shoe. I don't feel the way you do about the playoffs versus their win total, but I do think there's more, there's more variance this year. Like, I'll just say five things. Like Harper's season and health, Wheeler's season and health, painter, like, you go through the line. There's a lot of things that if they go the right way, they'll be just as good if not better than last year. But if they, if they all go the wrong way, they will struggle to be where we want them to be in September. That I, I could see that. Yeah, a lot of variables. Yeah. Again, too many variables for me to say concretely that they're going to be okay. And they're going to be a good formidable team going into the season. But, uh, but yeah, no, I'm, again, I'm just excited for this season, but I'm going to be a little bit reserved going in. And maybe they'll prove me wrong. Hopefully they'll prove me wrong throughout the season as we go. Well, that'd be great. You and Hugh, because Hugh doesn't want to give McLean a slate either. All right, Cooper, you're ready for your matchup in the bracket of Hughes round two.
I am ready. Let me hear it. All right. Let's go to the one and nine matchup in the radio guy region, the underdog, Hater Hugh. Hey, hey, hey, hey. And then can we hear from the number one seed here, pot him down, Douglas? Yeah. Come on. I hate it. Not my sign of moment. You can be though, huh? It's so good. Every time we hear it, shoot, where you going with pot him down or Hater, Hugh? Shoot sound like we lost. Shoot for a little bit. No, I mean, it's bottom down. 1,000% they move on. That was my bet. I actually was potting. I put it down. Oh, it's a good, good vote there.
And yeah, I mean, that, look, there's a couple teams every March, you just roll through the thing and it's not even contested. That might be bottom down. That audio is tough to not vote for. Tony, it's Hugh Connellan the last two years. Even the big dogs house. Yeah, that was a lot. That was a lot. She caught me on a bad day. That was a lot. I apologize. Well, but she has a way of getting that out of it. That's on her. She gets under scare. But you know, when you hear it now, I have to, you know, I've had time that, you know, kind of flaky. But, you know, I hear that. And it just reminds me how super annoying she is. So you think more of Hugh and Lesson, of the color, yeah. So you don't feel more proud of it than listening to that one. I'm like, he was right. I mean, it just, it's just, and I understand the way to the moment everything, but it was just a lot. She's a lot though. Well, that's, that's why I think you went there. It's why it was. She's a lot. She's a lot. Yeah, I don't feel so bad now. Yeah. Which, what's, what do you think the best part is? The three bottom downs or potter up? Or is it the big dogs outs? I was going to be, that was, that was my favorite is potter back up that is soon.
So I thought you said, no, potter back down. Actually, I'm done with listening to that lady. No more of that. Let's go to Carl in Napleshade up on WIP. Hey, Carl. Hey guys, I love the moves. It's just got made. Which one? With lemon. Well, we didn't get the kind of lemon. We just, we, we're talking about a mock track. We recklessly speculating. Okay. Well, it'd be nice to see how he, I would love to see him get some targets for Jalen. Because that's the way that Jeffrey Laurie wants to see his offense go. He wants to throw the football. That's right. There's, there's no way around it. Even, even if you have a good running back, they want to go through the air. And they're given Jalen every opportunity because with a new coordinator and a new plan and probably up under center a lot more, you need those targets to be up under center.
Well, I'll tell you this, Carl. If they draft a receiver in the first round, they're not taking that guy to not throw him the football. That's a big resource to use on a player. So if we end up with Devonte and, and lemon as the two guys, yeah, they're good. He's going to get a ton of targets, even as a rookie. And as soon as we get AJ that thorn out of our side, tell you, and, you know, everybody wonders why how he can't move them or get what he wants. He's a repeated founder. I mean, Tennessee had a headache. The Eagles got a headache. Who wants to give up their number one asset for the next one to be in line for another headache? Nobody. I mean, I think you're, I think we're realizing that, Carl, that we're, we're sitting here on March 23rd. He's still on Eagle because no one's given up a huge amount for him. And how is it going to have to bite the ball? I mean, I know he works as magic, but I don't see magic in this move. He's just got a, he's just got a clean house with this guy. I, well, I think we're going to get there by,
whether it be draft night or by June. I'm thinking a couple of weeks. Yeah, is that a timeline you got? I'm not, no, I'm saying you, June in June. June's more than a few weeks. Yeah, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I went in mind if June was a few weeks. I mean, June means we're close to summer. Although Kyle did cancel summers. Is it back on? Where are you at? We got picked to tell that. Oh, that's right. You're my fault. We went down to spring training. I drank arsenic water and arsenic water. Yeah, because they had arsenic in the water. Yeah, we're, we're telling you what the Google they said. That's what the Google said. Yeah, but the water takes, the water, the water tastes funny. Says the arsenic, you said arsenic. You know, no, water gets a hint of lemon. Not, he said arsenic. He said arsenic. No, who said that? The Google, the Google again, because I Google what's in Florida's water. You do that. All right, Kyle, are you ready for a match up in the bracket of Hughes? Yep. All right, let's do it. All right, we did another vote here. The five seed, Twitter, fingers, Douglas. And then I believe we have a little audio snippet for you here. Carl, this is what dead air Douglas sounds like.
Right. That's how you get punched in the face. That has had some real funny moments this week. I get a bad wrap. What's your rule? Is that what you're talking about? We're waiting for a party. Carl, I can't remember the exact moment. Something was happening. Carl, who are you voting for? Twitter, fingers, or dead air? I'm going dead air. Dead air. Go bad, that looks good. That's a lot of what we do around here. Carl, we appreciate it. Good job. All right, Kyle, I need you to do something. Yes. Can you pull back up dead air? I'm going to take out a stopwatch here. I want to, on the air, see how long dead air Douglas was. You don't jump in and don't try to talk over because you've done that a lot. You want to make it seem not as bad. So you talk over. So let's, I'll start it as soon as Tom Kelly stops talking here. And we'll see how long it is. Here we go. Right. That's how you get punched in the face. That has had some real funny moments this week. What's your rule? Is that what you're talking about?
We're waiting for a rule. Did I count the whole four? That was a clean four seconds of dead air. It's a lot in talk, right? Yeah. It's way too much. It's way too much. I can't remember what it was, but some happened. I'm sure. You know, maybe you just blamed me like you did last time when we did the open or it was your fault. That was your fault. It was, you was definitely your fault. But I'll take the heat because I know it was, yeah, I know you don't, but it was definitely your fault. You know, but I can't say on the air what happened? I can't. Okay. Sounds like it's your fault. I can't say. It's like a Douglas problem. I can't say it. But you know what happened. You know what happened. If you had a workshop at the dead air thing, like did something come up that you knew you couldn't talk about, so you self-edited? Yes. Okay. That was a couple of times. And I'm pretty sure that was one of the second ones too, but I'll go ahead and take that one. Because it is a good drop though. So I'll go ahead and invite the boat. Well, there's something about four seconds. To me, there's a threshold of two is like a long pause and ready. Like you're going to rant or someone's yelling these kind of stop. Yeah, the TK one was there. You let it breathe. But once you go above three seconds, I think everyone listening thinks something happened.
Yeah, it was awkward. They pulled the plug on the station, their radio doesn't work, their app doesn't work, whatever the podcast, their listen doesn't work. Four seconds is an enormous amount of time. It's just, it's over the top. All right. It's a circle back there. So Carl, again, Deli Mock at one o'clock is just a mock draft. The Eagles didn't get McIleman. It makes you wrong. The St.Page there. But they could. They could get McIleman. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just listening. Yeah. And I'm just listening. What y'all saying? Yeah. And in taking it all in. Well, I just want to make sure that people listening, understanding Deli Mock's are not things that have happened. No, yeah, you talking about that. They are mock drafts. But we do a draft every day. Yeah. Every day. Just constantly adding first round. First round play. Let's get him. Or this Eagles, he's got a lot better soft season. Yeah. Those guys talked about a new pick every day. It's how he sees you. Just get away on the draft. What do you mean? I mean, we're still waiting to see who to actually draft. We just pull that stuff. Yeah. We're doing the mock draft thing. We're not the actual draft. We don't control the actual draft. Yeah, we don't control that.
We do. That's totally on the NFL. You know, we do. We have, um, I believe we've advanced five teams. Oh, give a lot of update on this. Yeah. All right. Let's give an update. We have three that still need to be decided. Okay. All right. All right. So, uh, Toge is over a six. Excuse maker. Now, call votes have outweighed the Twitter poll here because Twitter poll went toge so. But we have multiple calls and both took. Excuse maker. So are we getting upset? We got an upset. So it's in. It's in chart makers in. All right. So toge is so Douglas is out of the torn on the bracket. That's like. We're going down. All right. So I'm using the Sharpie. Excuse maker. Douglas is into the round of sweet six. Yep. Cloud shaker has law. Cloud chaser. Cloud shaker. Yep. That'll never be cut. All right. Cloud chaser has lost. I mean, blown out by we hear now. Yeah. And calls. All right. So we hear now Sharpie into the sweet six. Yep. Potem down Douglas with a, I mean, a resounding victory over Heyterview.
No question. That's an easy one. Dead air Douglas. The calls of outweighed Twitter. Twitter fingers. So dead air advances. Potem down advance. I got to tell you guys before we move on the sweet 16 matchup between one of the favorites and the potem down Douglas and Cinderella dead air Douglas is going to be an awesome one. It's crazy. It's crazy. It's too fit. Yep. And another big seed going down, I think, unless I'm on the seed in front of me. Long talk is lost to rent free. Okay. That was long talk was a six rent free of three. So that happens. Okay. So long talker in. Yep. All right. So we have five sweet 16 teams in. Okay. And we need to decide three before we get out of here. That would be blue jeans versus fries in the bag. Yes. That's tied. That would be blind faith versus off the leash. Ethan was on the other side of the grid late and ADD versus been though they're also tied late. I gotta tell you if ADD gets through the potem down dead air long talk ADD to the late 16. That's the kind of reason they sell tickets for. And that's good stuff. That would be a hell of a so what do you, so what do you think right now if the bracket of you?
I like potem down Douglas. Who else is still alive? So free. So we have so by the, by the end of the show, we'll have eight teams in the sweet 16 tomorrow well the next eight but right now excuse maker. that's a huge upset. Told you so was out of the tournament. That's a one-seed knocked out. It opens this last year's winner. It does. It is last year's. Wow. Just like Florida. Florida won the championship and now they're out with to Iowa last sign the NCAA tournament. So this this just goes to show you here that every year is its own thing. Yeah. So who else we got left? So what you mean is the ones we have to decide before the show. So blue jeans first frost in the back. Yeah. Blind Firth first off the leash and any of us been knocked out. Like out of the ones that we're talking about today. Off the leash is my favorite because that's kind of like art imitating life for real. Yeah. You are off the leash in every single way. Yeah and it just it just gets worse and worse every day. It gets worse and worse. It's not me. It's just more and more off of the leash. No, just like you know and it's just that you know the reality of the of the situation
that I mean you know the dating situation. It's gonna be it's gonna be like this forever. It's got worse. It gets worse worse and worse. This is he opening up on the air. It's weird because it feels like you help yourself so much every day on the air. I'm talking about it. Oh yeah. It does wonders for you know self-esteem. All the analogies and everything else. I'm surprised they're not like they're not back. Yeah. Me neither. What I mean dropping all this wisdom I am part on a day today. Maybe too much wisdom. Maybe they look at you as on a different frequency. Who lies? Yeah that like this guy's vibrating on a level that I just can't I can't match it. I can't I can't get there. All right. I'm starting to believe that. Are you all right two two one five five nine two ninety four nine four. I meant to mention this earlier here but we did not get to it. So the fillies are playing a spring training game today and the lineup let me reach the lineup because you it certainly feels like and looks like to me that this is the fillies opening day lineup on Thursday. So we know they're going to face a right handed pitcher on Thursday that would be Nathan Evaldo for the Texas Rangers and I'm looking at this lineup and this sure looks like the
kind of lineup you would roll out there against a right handed pitcher. Here is what topper rolled out today down in clear water leading off shortstop tray turner batting second the DH Kyle Schwerber batting third the first baseman Bryce Harper batting fourth the cleanup hitter and third baseman Alec Bohm batting fifth the second baseman Bryce has stopped batting sixth the right fielder Adolus Garcia seventh the left fielder Brandon Marsh eighth the catcher JT Real Nuto and ninth the center fielder Justin Crawford righty lefty righty lefty righty lefty righty lefty just the way topper likes to do it here I think we got I think today's lineup is the lineup we're going to see on Thursday yeah I'm well I know it's the plate what is it like the inner squats not inner squats well it's the last game in clear water before they come on just enter and see how Crawford fits into that and how he does because that's going to be important when you talk about turning over the line up and everything it's going to be important to see how how he approaches mm-hmm you know especially when you talk about I think what was the biggest knock hit ground ball
hitter for them to watch yeah but that might I mean that might bow well for you when you're talking about you know getting on base and and moving runners and everything else that might bow well for you know line up yeah I mean look for me for him is if you just hold just wait if he could play defense and run the bases and steal bases I don't need a lot out of him as the ninth hitter I just see him to kind of keep his head above water I think JT hitting eighth is interesting that's really worried belongs the stage of his career and he'd higher I think is is not where he should be but Garcia in that six spot that that look it's going to come down to this with the top three we can move around any order but the boom stop Garcia that that's what a lot of this is going to come down because those guys be better versions than they were a year ago and if they are then they'll they'll score enough for us to back this pitching line up are one more quick thing on the draft Kyle what was the name of that kicker that the that we had some interest in here jaffer jaffer the Eagles attended the pro day I guess it was the kicker now look we now they gave Jake L.A. Guarantee money last week he'll probably be their kicker but I wouldn't be surprised if they
do bring in a kicker late in the draft or an undrafted for agency and there is a kid out there who the Eagles write as apparently as pro day this weekend for Murphy jaffer Murphy now okay he's a kicker what about him two things one apparently he hit a 70 yarder and number two he'll he ran a fought four five forty got some wheels as a kicker got some wheels I've never watched jaffer kick I'm instantly in on jaffer four five forty and hit a 70 yarder here what's there not to like no it's just that one then when can you get him because you you can't pick him with the first second or the third pick you got to you got to see hopefully that he's around maybe later later later in the draft yeah I mean it almost never works out when teams draft kickers in the first three important only one I can think of they got drafted that high well got drafted high was what Janet Kowski yeah first round yeah remember that guy Roberto Aguayo for the template yeah did not work he did not work but nine years had a third round of recent years did not work yeah here's the thing though like if I don't know how often or consistently in the NFL this could would be able
to kick 70 yard field goals but think about where like a brand in Aubrey would go had you known what you known and he answered the NFL draft like that's valuable yeah a 70 yard field goal like can that changes your offense basically I tell you what no it's gonna be like the Eagles I'm assuming the Eagles weren't the only team to come visiting like would somebody pull the trigger for a kicker yeah high in the draft not not not not saying first round that that would be bananas to go in the first round but maybe the third round second maybe oh I pull the title but it's guaranteed that if teams are intrigued like that he would go well before the Eagles would be able to take so we got to learn more about him because when I'm looking at his stats there's not much stats on him I wonder if he can he played a different sport and now is transitioning to football seems like he kind of came out of nowhere so I want to learn more about Jaffa Murphy it seems like this might be a story here and maybe maybe it's kind of up in the air if he even gets drafted or he's a late round pick because I don't know if he kicked much in college well we need him because we need to take calls about how they need to put him
a wide receiver like they do with my Lada running back oh I mean those were the best put my Lada fullback hand on the ball you know if they had a kicker that could run a four five and the offense was struggling get Jaffa out there haven't catch the passes two one five five nine two ninety four ninety four all right coming up your phone calls will get to you people plus the madness of the week and the actual college best we'll get to some of the best moments there and an awful look for one of our best athletes here in town and we'll decide the rest of these matchups your phone calls are you giving the Phillies a clean slate as we enter twenty six it's the midday show sports radio ninety four w i p
