Welcome to the Wisconsin Restor podcast with your co-host, Tick Fenwick and Steve Lergway. Oh, welcome ladies and gentlemen to another edition of the Wisconsin Restor podcast. I'm your host, Tick Fenwick coming to you live from a home and joining me as always up from a Kashcanong, my co-host Steve Lergway. Steve, great to be here. Pumped to be here. Love sectional previews. Sorry folks, I know we're competing with the Milwaukee Brewers in the Missouri Vaz as pitching right now, but that's my fault. We had to move it back a little bit on my account. But either way, great times, great part, great time of the year, my man. We're not competing with them. They're competing with us. That's a good point. And Steve, we are already a six of the way through sectional previews after tonight.

Wow. Oh, perspective, right? Perspective. Yeah. Yeah. I love doing the weekly recaps just to see other results and it's fun. You start looking at the whole task and what do we have? 29 of them Tick and your brain can get caught up at Holy Cal. That's a lot of stuff. But once you start just individually dive it into a sectional and see the numbers that are returning and the kids that are returning remember batches from states and big team sectional matchups. It gets to be a lot of fun. And we have a sectional OG again tonight, Southeast Wisconsin, getting a lot of, a lot of run from us right now early on in the year. The wheel was very favorable to them in the early going and D2 sectional OG Steve, the more I dove into this one, the more vested I became in it. I think I looked at, I look at team sectional brackets and I think I clicked on five or

six different tools to see how they played out again. I will jump into it more. But remember that was the sectional that took away, that took our attention last year. And sure we'll talk more about it. Yeah. Well, yeah, a little rundown. I mean, I texted you or told you today I can't remember what it was and we were talking about it. I said, man, I think this one we've had on the guy side a little bit easier time thinking you know, I picked the same ones and you know, there wasn't, it wasn't too competitive. And I told you this one, I think there's four teams preseason right now legitimately that have a good shot at winning this one. So it's a lot of fun and numbers crunching wise as well. I know Zach is, it's funny to see all the people already that are repulsing Zach rankings on the grappler and how great of a job he does. But preseason 25 ranked wrestlers out of this sectional, two number ones and a number

two we'll talk about. And there's 22 returning state medalists in this one. Wow. I mean medalist or my state call. I'm going to recalculate that quick. I maybe that's state qualifiers. That's a lot of state medal. I guess I'm state qualified but regardless. I apologize folks. I think that's I think I got a little trigger happy there. I think that's state qualifiers. Oh my god. Bigger things and they also gave you a cat Steve. That's right. Well Chris actually said it's kind of cool. I mean I've got a time. So many some pictures of last year if you remember anybody was on. It was almost a year ago tonight on a sexual preview. I talked about a story of some moron, dumps some cats out and cute little kittens.

We end up keeping one. We need to re-home two of them and Chris and the family took them. So many some pictures and absolutely beautiful cats. So I'm a cat lover if you can tell. Steak sneaky cat guy everybody. I am a sneaky cat guy. The one guess the one not guess the the chatter I was thinking about tonight is Doug going to be tuning in with the miz on the mound tonight. And if he does because he's not listening right now I think if he does is he going to make a comment about you'll talk about all the brewers are on. Is he going to bring up the fact that the miz is on the mound. I will say yes I have faith that Doug tuned in. I'm going to say I'll take the I'll take that that he's going to tune in. Let's see we got 16 teams to look at. So we'll get rolling on this D2 sectional at G. We have a mix of teams from last year's will not union and port Washington sectional.

This is the most southeastern sectional in a division to all the G's are for the boys divisions. Individuals going to be at Wilmot union a team sectional port Washington a star not with a Catholic memorial who was a 15th in the Wilmot union sectional with 26 and a half points turning seven of their 10 starters and 26 and a half points. And the four of those starters placed top eight at sectionals last year. Pretty good return for Catholic memorial. Obviously talk about their football team every single year. Couple top returners max max urchelle at 25 at 17 wins. It's he I had to throw this name out because I look I had to read it twice at 106 pounds at 21 wins and who is it. Is that Charlie Menard no teach it's Charlie Menard. Oh no. Steve. What was the wrong name down or what? Excellent concept.

I'm the the lip you said is that Charlie Menard. No, they say the wrong thing Charlie. Well, no, I said Charlie more than I. I don't think so. We'll play back anyway. They got a cool. We got a kid named Charlie Menard on their team. So I did think of I did think of Charlie as well when I saw. Well, my delivery stinks, but oh, wow. That thought was there. Oh, man, whatever. All right, moving on to a fuller collegiate academy who I believe the last year was their first year as a standalone program, Steve. And no wrestlers on the roster last year. I take them breaking off from a co-op as maybe there's someone in the school or community trying to start something. So hoping to see it some run from fuller collegiate this year. See, I missed that. Who were they combined with last year? It wasn't I think last year was their first full year separate as a stand.

Okay, but they were I got you got you. Yeah. But yeah, but I don't know. It's like a co-op with like three or four schools. Moving on to grafting fifth in the Port Washington sectional with 128 and a half points at team sectionals. They lost 51 to 28 to Port Washington. They're returning eight of their 11 starters and 87 and a half points. They do lose at Caleb earns to qualified at two 15. They're bringing back Ryan Gartman, your boy Steve who qualified for state at 106. Along with third place sectional finisher, Padre, Francie, fourth place sectional finisher, Nolan Murray and three more top eight sectional of finisher Steve. Grapped one thing I noticed a lot of freshmen on their roster last year. Sometimes that tends to lead towards another class right behind them. That'll be pretty solid. So it's grafting in your team on the rise radar.

Well, definitely we'll find that on out to make the top six. I think it'd be a good battle. I think that you know, a little bit of the Ryan Gartman effect. He's done a great job. Number two in the preseason and 106 pounds. 46 wins last year. Got two wins at state. I talked about Franzea as well. He had 28 wins lost in the wrestle back. But absolutely eight of those wrestlers returning. Five of them are freshmen and I think they're doing some fantastic things over there in grafted. It was, you know, what was a tea a couple years ago? We were talking about grafted and they had five six returners and here they are coming off a team sectional trip. That's great for the program. Mason, glad to see you tuned in while also watching the brewer game. Andrew, I know you love the preseason. You especially love the banter part of it. We'll see what your thoughts are on the D2 sectional G picks. If you're tuned in you were. Andrew was originally a Southeast boy. So I got some stock in this one. Was that did was that Andrew that you're talking about?

Do we get any flack for the girl's picks? We we had a conversation on the live stream after not during but afterwards. Yeah, afterwards got you. Okay. We always let it fly in the comments. Wow, Andrew that's big. He thinks they finished. I think Graffton's going to finish top two. Maybe he knows something that we don't, which very well could be true. Steve going on to a greendale who was ninth in the Wilma Union sectional with 93 and a half points. They're returning five of their 11 starters and 12 and a half points. They do lose a multi sport superstar Deacon Ward who qualified for state at 2 15. They're bringing back a two top eight sectional finishers in a Maximus ward and Sebastian Gullinsky. Yeah, big losses for greendale is here. Hopefully they can recover from that. Truly a strong program, right? I mean, they they're their first wrestler was slated at 132 pounds. And at starting there their first four way classes were all seniors that they are losing with six total.

So like I said, lots of points back from but greendale strong roots over there. Next up is among American a piece academy who it was their first year as a program. Last year Steve did not wrestle in the postseason, but looks like they still had some numbers out last year. Yeah, so pretty good numbers had 10 on their roster actually pretty pretty cool concept or history of their school. I think it was started in 1975 and I was briefly reading a little bit about it, but seems like a great great. I don't know if it's considered charter program or whatever it is, but what they're doing over there in. I think it's north north side of Milwaukee is where the school is located. Moving on to a kettle of marina Lutheran. One of our favorite teams on the rise over the last few years. They were team his president and founder of the kettle marina Lutheran fan club. They were 11th in the port Washington sectional with 65 points.

They returned 10 of their 12 starters and 27 points. They'll be led by 4th place sectional finisher Jack beetle along with 3 more top 8 sectional finisher's. And Steve I love it. This this team did not exist what like 3, 4 years ago and they did the same thing that Hop is doing right now where they weren't in the postseason. Three years ago, two years ago they had they even had a guy in the mix two years ago that I picked to make state he did not. And I mean 4th place finisher 31 guys on the roster last year that they are doing some great things there and I hope to see I'm guessing they probably don't have a feeder program. If I'm not mistaken and yeah, I just a lot of like a lot of reasons to root for KML. A lot of reasons big side of team. What did I talk about when I Google that the other day was it and it's located in Jackson. Is that the spot where it's at we never actually looked into it.

Never did you have to look that up but you know here's the thing with them great numbers had 12 at sectionals but took 11th three in the top five. So here's what they're missing there to be they got numbers but they need a couple of those studs to back that up right. Top returns Kevin Allison 157 at 22 wins Jake. Beetle on the stage is last same 120 pounds who was 27 and nine so a couple of salary turners maybe you know like you said if it's if it is Jackson where I thought we think it is located. A lot of those academies are all there right get a couple of those kids that get the itch and start going there and come back you know what you start going to camps and those academies you come back in the rest of the room with a little bit different spark and a change attitude. It is located in Jackson I looked it up and this will be the one school in this section all that I will make a plea for if I can get a kelmore rain Lutheran shirt I will treasure that one and I do all the shirts I get but that would be a great find.

Yeah by the way you got what do you were in there 18 we didn't do a thread. Thread check all Steve looks like you're up in the pirates of port Washington and I'm rep in kowalskum which it seemed like a good time to talk about kowalskum. They were a part of the port Washington section all this little transition to you are the master of transitions with the 240 at five points at team sectionals they lost 33 to 32 to port Washington. And 40 to 32 to Pihuahki they returned 11 of 14 stars and 180 and a half points they are losing two time state champ Ethan Mell who won that 144 last year in Brayden lore who qualified at 150. They were turning Carter Hymerman who qualified at 126. Brayden skulls who won it all 157 and Eli Ogey qualified at 190. I'll also bring back third place sectional finisher why it lewdkey for place sectional finisher port are recent cage wasmen and four more top eight sectional finishers after that.

Steve it seems like the Bryson skulls effect is having a long lasting impact. Yeah very much so there's there's a lot to talk about these guys right and I didn't do a deep dive into that one loss one point lost to port Washington. Leather and returners years was exciting for them for classmen heavy nine of those guys are going to be top heavy as Tig mentioned eight in the top five here is what's crazy. They have I was trying to go through it Carter Hymerman take do a quick look to see if he is ranked I missed that one. Oh yes he's ranked number 14 at 144 didn't have a win at state but at a tight one zero loss and round one Bryson skulls ranked number 14th in the year at. 157 I'm just kidding that was a little joke to see if you're listening to the whole. I didn't even see team look up this joke it. Zach Adam at number 14 we might want to check his rains obviously ranked number one had a fall and a two tech balls down at state Eli as as Tig mentioned ranked number five at 215 pounds one shy of win of 30.

Then they have three other ranked wrestlers chase barber number 13 150 Brody Rimer number 13 165 and cage is ranked number nine at 175 has somebody wins on his career so. Man I tell you what Kiwaskum absolutely team they they're very loaded they're not reloading they are. Yeah they never won anywhere let's just say that yes going from Kiwaskum to Martin Luther who was seventh in the Wilmot Union sectional with a 99 and a half points they're returning nine of their 14 starters and 27 and a half points they do lose the big man he was a big man the Valentino Vargas and a lot of people in the population equal five at 285. He led by fifth place sectional finisher Leon poll Martin along with two more top eight sectional finishers this is one of the teams I'm more intrigued by Steve of course coach Tony Romano we had a lot. Great dude you can see how he gets good numbers and gets kids fired up about the sport and they had a good run of years so far no returning nine at the

returning points aren't great but this is this is kind of one of those years is see what a program to made of. Yeah kind of the same situation as catamory and Luther now no we had coach Tony on he talked about most of his kids the high the high majority of him he gets they never stepped on a map before but like we talked about all those academies and that around the area do you get a few of those kids that start to trickle into those schools and they come in come in ready to go and I tell you when that happens talking to guys that's our look at a change programs and you get a couple of those guys that really start from the model to to change a culture for wrestling they come in at a different level that that changes the rest of the kids in the room and they start. It's a traffic right it's attractive and then they want to they want to emulate that so Martin Luther kettle learning Luther and that's that's the step they got it to that's what they have to do to take that next step. I'm midway through the second all and we're going to start the back half off with a Milwaukee who was a third in the Port Washington section with 229 points a team sectionals they beat Campbell's Port 46 to 23 they lost the Port Washington 49 to 22 then they beat Qoscom 42 32 in the second place match they were turning 10 of their 14 starters and 157 and a half points.

They do lose state qualifiers Henry Gashler and a Brody Seas they are bringing a crew back Nolan center qualified at 106 Keegan Sierra 120 Jared LaPlan who made it 132 as a freshman and our favorite big man maybe one of our favorite dudes in the sport in general Bobbi Edwards to qualify to 285 along with third place sectional finisher Ethan center. Fourth place sectional finisher Tommy Jager and a two more top eight sectional finisher Steve take it away. It's just fun. Milwaukee is one of those great programs right it's it's kind of funny how it seems like as the year goes on they just get you kind of forget about them you don't talk about them a lot and then they are always ready to go come come tournament time both individually and team wise right I mean just take a look what they did last year. Lost in the finals to PW then be Qoscom for for a true second right they were they were in the running to be that at large team obviously it went to Osceola out there but coming in here if you walk he three ranked wrestlers center as to talk about number nine at 13 LaPlan number eight at 144 and you're absolutely right guy who was one point away lost the

first as full of Evansville in the blood round by one score five to four 78 wins on his on his year but Bobby comes in only smiling at number four. I couldn't help but smile when I saw I saw Bobby's name there just uh there's something about the heavy weights that they seem to be the moral fabric of the team right and Bobby definitely is that I think one of my favorite stories you told me Steve is that he beat a guy at a tournament and you couldn't tell who lost afterwards the way Bobby was like like talking with them and whatnot yeah I got two Bobby stories because there's probably plenty right but I I ref them and I'm at just a good match I can't even remember if you if you want to to get lost that one but I call them for locked hands and I'm like oh hey red locked him remember you can't you know and that's kind of explained to me looks he says oh I'm sorry sir I didn't mean to do that I'm like Bobby it's okay right I mean it's like you didn't punch him or anything like that so you're you're good to go he just was so concerned that he locked his hands I'm like all right man we're good we're good but I still remember when he walked off after that tight loss the five five four to Tanner for

Dylan it almost looked like he was controlling his coaches you know yet as I'm Ron I'm used to talking to him I can only imagine he's saying it's okay we'll get him next year we'll get him next time so we're big Bobby fans whatever happens on the mat Bobby Edwards has one in life all right moving on to our 10th team or should I say the 11th am I right Steve we have Pius the 11th Catholic 13th in the four Washington sectional with 29 points they were turned two of their four starters and 25 points they'll be led by a Matthew Scott who placed a fifth at sectionals yeah Matthew 20 wins on the season last year another top returner for Pius is 138 pointer last year at Chase Burgess I all I could think about was a Pius the 11th what happened to the other 10 pies I think you said that one last year and I still left at the exact same all right let's talk it's like a good

dance joke it just doesn't doesn't go away doesn't doesn't get old hey we got the octobox in the comments Sean Octorburg he was at a brewer's game yesterday with Patrick nice go big win big win uh... port washington they were a second in their sectional with 235 and a half points at team sectionals they beat grafting 51 to 28 key wascom 33 to 32 and a Piochie 49 to 22 to win the sectional what a dramatic sectional that was they were turning 11 of their 14 starters and 183 points they're losing 18 ashton Steiner who qualified at 175 and the beard himself Garrett Coption ski second state title at two 15 last year at the talent they are bringing back I think the pirates are going to be it just fine they're bringing back grace and capkey who plays six that one 13 chase barber who qualified at one forty four the melancholy car boys Carter and Grant who qualified at 57 and 65 respectively along with third place sectional finishers a liest minutus and Jackson Hatfield and four more top eight sectional finishers the bootstief

that's quite a bit yeah they're looking pretty good over there in P.W. is I like to call it uh... grace and capkey team I mentioned all these names up but I'll go through the rankings with them because they have a whole bunch Hatfield number six at two 15 capkey is ranked number four at our twenty pounds chase barber number thirteen at one fifty and Carter and Grant Carter is number three at one sixty five and Grant is number seven at one hundred ninety pounds also you know I was thinking about what I was doing this one is for all of you fans just of this area of wrestling we have girls what is it gene next week uh... yes yeah and we have a lot of these teams on the girls side that are in that one as well so tune in on Sunday for a girl sectional g good advertising I also have for a port washington new member of the all name team paladin mallenson

yeah your name is paladin your your automatic all name team where is that a is that where do you find it was in the rock like starting lineup or uh... he wrestled in one of the duels I don't know if it was all the duels I just saw the name and it caught my eye okay gotcha yeah next up is recene a saint cathartines lutheran who was a twelfth in the will not union sectional with sixty nine points they were turned five other seven starters and thirty six points they are losing state qualified to mace yo true heo they're bringing back their play sectional finisher dire hankins and a top eight sectional finisher mcline garcia cs sixteen wins in the season last year hankins preseason ranking number fourteen at one fifty seven got eighty nine wins on his career shaw and the comments that i thought you're going to say coach smurf i haven't heard that one but i might have to start using it now

shorelin lutheran the painkiller's they were forth in the will not union sectional with the hundred sixty one point at team sectionals they beat witnell forty five the thirty two they lost the eastway forty three thirty one then lost a water for the third place match forty nine to twenty four bring back nine of their fourteen starters and sixty seven points they are losing at a m has to place fifth at one sixty five but they're turning nizaea king who placed third at sectionals carol wagner who plays fourth and six more wrestlers who were top eight sectional finishers and see the same thing with shorelin lutheran as we saw with the martin luther maybe not like they're still bringing back a a respectable amount of points uh... good couple last years you do lose a lot of talent will see how they do but i'm not very worried about the painkiller's because they had forty five guys on their roster last year yeah good good find on that always right i mean i've seen them in a couple doles over the last four or five years and always their bench is huge and

they are pumped up when their kids wrestle one of the guys puts another guy in their back it is it is loud right they bring their own cheering section i think it was big for the program you get that round one win at team sectionals i don't know if that i think that was their first ever one in school history and i yeah that's something that uh... helps grow that program talk about is a king to shot to win shy of forty wins last year so yeah there'll be there'll be alright there'll be in the running i know there's some folks who don't like the amount of teams at team sectionals or i know there's the teams that whether it's due to the amount of guys are they don't like their chances they don't go all out but i love that first round see because even just looking at everything this year there's a couple of those programs that win it i'm like that's kind of program defining for them right now or like that could if they could hold on to that and keep making the jump like that could be huge so i'm excited to see how they respond to that agreed we have up the first of our walkishaw triumvirate

it will be talking about walkishaw north who was a ninth in the port washington section with eighty seven and a half points returning three of their six starters and fifteen points losing ben lower who play six that one fifty last year along with state qualifier michaegler they have two top eight sectional finishes returning and kody deberbont and keyton england yeah deberbont seventeen uh... seventeen thirteen last year winning a record and he also had a pretty good record as well box of nortis one of those programs and tigay i talked to you about it that uh... student teaching i i did uh... whatever you call it apprenticeship coaching that i did under gregg packowitz and this is as well as programs great wrestling room great uh... great tradition you know spent through the mingas in bird back in the nineties and uh... uh... they are j not near the numbers that they should have somebody seems to take that program over in use of facilities they have in the tradition and i just it's it's prime for somebody to go in there and do some great things so

just kind of doing a little pleading and uh... cheer and for whatever might be less than that and want to get out of coachy adventure and get a teacher position man walk shaw north it's is that place to go could area for it they'll absolutely alright the penultimate team in this section all a wit nal they were fifth in the will not union sectional with one hundred fifty four and a half points they lost a forty five to thirty two to shoreland lutheran team sectionals bring back eight of their ten stars and a hundred two points losing at two state qualifiers and allie hondrell austin a little nation and eight in baloney they bring back a state qualifier and eight in cast and and a state place winner and damian tomas who play six that one twenty six law with third place sectional finisher alex rogers mark opanick who plays fourth that sectionals nice and three more top eight sectional finishers mark opanick tea is that spelled exactly how it sounds there's that uh... it is yes both both are yeah

uh... is awesome yeah a wit nal uh... damian tomas six-place state metal as forty two wins last year number five preseason all the way class at a hundred thirty two pounds steve mark opanick had also refer to how a lot of wrestlers felt wrestling around the vicinity of highway eight the last few years the last decade and mark opanick yeah because they had a mark on the map mark opanick that that that it took me a little bit but i got it so that was unfortunately like not the best sectional to execute that joke but someone's gonna listen to that appreciated i'm sure most most southerners that are listening to this don't even know where highway eight is so that's uh... but it will work when we we have uh... one of those northern sectionals uh... mike your question of my beard no i am actually not uh... i used to go to your aunt not as much anymore i'm kind of a winp with the weather and uh... you know what i don't feel very good about myself after i kill a deer so

i'm just joking i don't probably better said i just uh... uh... yeah i had uh... i had some issues so uh... but no i i grew this out a little while ago and i had my hip surgery dot well tell a story is when i was a young kid i uh... i shot my first year and it was still live when i walked up to it and i started crying so i kind of knew my my dear hunting career was uh... was going to be shortly shortly after that don't problem with it love hunting go fessan up and all the time which is something i have about uh... something i have about walking up to that deer and it's looking at me like what you do but no mike i am uh... i grew it out after i had my hip surgery just because i got lazy and i couldn't uh... uh... i couldn't shave and then uh... my oldest daughter gave me the best my old starter doesn't compliment me very often but you looked at me and said add you looked at you look very rich with that and i said i'm keeping it i'll take a look look good feel good right that's right man if i don't see you look very rich you said you look wealthy with that

like i'll tell you even even better yeah the last team in the section all will not union who was at first in their section with two hundred twenty four and a half points at team sectionals they beat waterford fifty two to twenty four and he's troy uh... they lost the east troy forty four to thirty six but this squad will not union i wish i knew what their mascot was they're bringing back twelve of their thirteen starters and two hundred eighteen and a half points who've to all right this can be a long one steve and back eight state qualifiers reasoned egg no one thirteen the agogardiola one twenty benchman spala one thirty eight colton grown one forty four jacks kibble one seventy five calibwalshier one ninety and brock riffin two eighty five and a last but not least a willy do shaman who is going to for his a four state title this year he won his third last year at one hundred twenty six pounds

i don't know what to add i'm sure we can add more about it when we will talk more a lot returning twelve returning uh... team sectionals team you talked about they were number the they were the number one seed and they were wrestling east troy it came down to the last match it was thirty eight thirty six one match to go but unfortunately team who did east troy have waiting in the wings none other than brady collins as your clothes or so it's not quite looking that good when that's a situation happens but that's how close they were east troy had a heck of a day uh... will not union just man went on to have a great individual sectional right i mean what was it eight uh... eight down at state total and only a return and it's that's crazy good i'll just go over a few of the ranking preseason rankings uh... reset hundred thirteen pounds i'm sorry reese up from one thirteen pounds ranked number seven at one thirty two uh... bend spala is ranked number nine at one forty four kill wall shire is number four

at two fifteen just a sophomore right so did all that as a freshman brock riffin number five at heavyweight the big fella uh... the agol garcia number seven at one twenty six and and colton uh... colton roeman is ranked number fourteen at one fifty and uh... i did not write it down but i'm sure william to shaman is ranked somewhere in there and uh... yeah he's uh... there's two number one ranked guys in this section all day william uh... shaman is uh... wonderful okay i was good i like uh... got to be all close to one right yeah i was just joking because it was uh... you know uh... i got uh... i got text from the commission and he said i was a little worried that i forgot rison schools in the rankings i was joking before but you didn't zack you didn't forget to shaman either he's in there i remember last year when that zack had to choose between uh... ranking uh uh... it was do shaman and colton's i think it was her board

at one thirty two and uh... do shaman was just at one thirty two for like the start of the year and uh... people were fired up about it and i was just like guys just chit they're not even gonna wrestle each other at the end of the year so but you know what that's what makes ranking fun you that you met everybody says i they're not torn they're not torn but boy people sure do talk about them uh... well here we go we got to make and uh... i'm a little nervous for this one who is up yeah i'm gonna be i gotta be quicker on this this coin flipping yeah because i can't feel the time mic uh... mic says that uh that escalated quickly i don't know how to do zb and tailed again what the that's me i think you're calling this broken uh it's he i'll pick my uh... i'll pick my i'll pick my six first that means you pick you pick the champ first correct you pick your six first uh... no you pick

if you pick the six first you pick the champ first oh okay i want you to pick your six first i want to uh i want to play option football i want to see what you talk about all right let me dig into my notes here start not are we doing the same deal i really liked what we did last time where we uh... we just like went through the six and then we kind of discussed afterwards yeah that sounds good all right my two teams on the outside of looking at i have a third i think you can maybe include whittin all in there but i don't know if they have the numbers to even get to that point that like they could maybe in a different sectional but this one's gonna be too competitive where you need the numbers and also have those guys win matches it pivotal first round for the teams looking again to the top six but my two teams on the outside looking in a martin luther and a kettlemarine my six seed is a grapden

and they'll be taking on will my union okay fifth seed shorland lutheran shorland will do just fine they're opponent the four seed of pirates of polokey might be a type advantage here for polokey pirates tend to do pretty good with shore things and my top two seeds in this one i am a givvy i still wonder where you're going with that kewoska two seed and a port the one seed let's go with pw all right what do you got Steve all right my top six my two teams on the out i actually had um i have three yeah i have three teams on the outside looking in one of those teams i thought was was wittin all i also have kettlemarine lutheran and

martin lutheran all battling for that for that seven spot my six seed is a little different than yours i have shorland lutheran as my six seed and i know andrew big on grapden i have them as my number five seed going into this and going a first round matchup you and i both are going to have pwaki the pirates far and as number four seed yep my number three seed is port washington port washington as my number three seed i have my number two seed as kewoska and then my number one seed is wilma so wow pretty much have we do we have the same six lot different order a lot different that is going to i mean i guess with the order Steve i could see it was starting with the top four i could see the top

four being any variation of those four depending on how the tournament shakes out so i don't know how much we need to dive into that and you know i so so badly wanted to put calmeran lutheran in this top six but historically i get i mean it's only been one year but we haven't we haven't seen teams like there's not a lot of teams that make the jump from like 10th or 11th to top six and just with how deep this sectional is i i don't think this is the year that it's going to happen for calmeran lutheran there's still probably i'd say they're two years away same thing with martin luther there i think they're a little more established in kml in that sense it's just it is going to be tough i think sorland and grapton are going to have a few more guys when those first round matchups and that's going to be key for getting big points or just getting points in general and yeah that's how i ended up with my bracket nice what about you

well i'm gonna wait to tell you about now i'll just say yeah i don't i mean if i say it all now then i got nothing for nothing for when i talk about it all right well you get you get rolling here then yeah well no you go first right no i gave by six first okay all right yeah i got you well all right oh yeah because i'm going second got you okay well let's just get a final four here right away uh let's get uh pewaaki moving on to the semi finals against against uh will not and then uh port washington moving on against q waskim so that's my that's my final four right here and then on the top side i actually uh i talked about them earlier i think i kind of gave might have given given given given given too much whatever not an english teacher um i'm gonna say this i'm gonna say pewaaki is that gritty team as you talked about the number yeah coming in as a number four seed but primed and ready to go come turn them a time and i have them

might eat my words of this one but i have them knocking off will not union to advance to the finals set up will not as the one seed yeah well here's my take on i think um what you did last year you know i still don't quite understand the whole how they how they see at the top six but i just have a feeling with all those returned state qualifiers from last year right and uh the success those guys are gonna have i think that they will um they will be the number one seed and definitely make my make me my words against pewaaki but i have to walky advancing in the semi's i love it all right well i'm not gonna say too much about this because i think it's uh uh i think i got to save it save it for the finals but can kewaskam avenge a one point loss from last year here's a little tale the tape you got kewaskam 11 returners eight uh eight wrestlers that finish in the top five three

state qualifiers returning plus that one guy you know how much uh dig every year i placed a lot of value in that guy that places third planks right just because i think it just puts a thing in i'm that almost mentally makes them a step step uh state qualify for the next year close to a pewaaki same amount of returners one last sectional uh sectional place winner in the top five one more state qualifier in four and they had two guys that uh that took third place right that little bit of the sting so um well do i do i do i lay my do i show my aces right now but then i do if i do it kind of well i'm just gonna do it and then teague i know you're supposed to pick your finalist first but i'm just gonna go ahead and jump ahead there's uh there's a little bit of intel and that's pretty good right who who do you have who do you have i'm picking my i'm picking my semi-finalist to advance to the finals and then i'm just i'm just calling a teague i'm putting them right into the fine into the championship i know i know it's unprecedented i know we're not

supposed to do it i know that you might get mad at me but i'm picking my finalists i'm picking my champ right now okay all right you okay with that yeah i'm ready for it i like the curveball how how how confident are you in uh in zaxx picks you think he does this homework do you think uh i'm sorry in his in his uh rankings you think he takes a look at him and he understands if he puts the guy in there he knows what he's doing i i think he peruses around a little bit yeah i i i am too like we we don't often you know probably if you and i started doing this 10 years ago and and we saw as some guys talking about a freshman and we kind of be like uh okay whatever let's let's wait till the year goes on uh you know before we get too excited but if zaxx puts a freshman in the preseason rankings he got a new of the guy knows what he's talking about well how about if he puts two guys on one team who are freshmen in the preseason rankings would you put a little cloud on that team yeah i i i played into that thought process i would to and port

washington has with everything they have coming back 11 returning starters seven guys placed in the top five at sectionals four state qualifiers returning and then two that took third place well incoming and i was going to say this earlier but they have two incoming ranked freshmen number 13 at 157 is zander nolls and number 12 at 175 naven doiel right so add that to the list is why i have qoscom winning the semis and overtaken pewaaki for the finals you have qoscom winning the semis no i'm sorry port port washington now yeah port washington is uh uh winning my gosh hi i have tear i'm i'm setting these big things up and then i screw it up but port washington wins over qoscom in the semis and then port washington beats pewaaki for the finals that's what darned all the heck uh well you might as well just finish up your bracket at this point all right what do i

got here then i got uh uh and then i have qo and i should have said this earlier to you and i wrote my note on the bottom uh i see you know every year we talk about uh every year last year that at large bid i definitely could see the at large team uh team number eight coming from this the section that's how strong i think the top four are uh which makes this bad match between willmott union and qoscom a big one um and i'm gonna give the edge i'm gonna give the edge to qoscom over willmott in this one and then you have another key wascoma pewaaki rematch from last year for second place yeah oh and yeah and then i got to qoscom qoscom winning as the second place team i like it having to win two on the backside and then roll all right well i guess i got to talk through my whole bracket now uh you bet you bet which you want i'm a problem doing

willmott willmott union and graft in i think in this case i already said uh the top four i feel pretty clear on so i have willmott moving on and a pewaaki a beating a shoreland and one of those two steve prove us wrong in that first round then then power to them that'll be some exciting stuff to talk about i just don't think it'll happen given the information that we have right now port washington and a pewaaki a fun rematch from the last year and based on the information that steve had that i thought only i had uh really so you were sandbagging too you you thought you had it as well and in a in a battle of the pirate steve or a real swashbuckler in the semi as they'll call it i'm taking a port washington to move on and a kewaskam and a willmott

interesting one here i mean both teams returning a huge chunk of starters i think willmott union also uh this based off the last year are you there a got they were a guy short with their 13 starters i'm guessing their coach does some heavy recruiting and they get a 14th and i hate to do this to kewaskam i think this might be going based off of just what happened last year because we've seen kewaskam get it done before they've made the team stay before but i think this is willmott union time to shine at least in the semis and i have the panthers moving on at two with the finals against port washington team before you go on i'm just going to make a uh if you can if you can use that word at least once a podcast i will be pumped swashbuckler swashbuckler yeah it's going to be a little tougher on the more landlock sectionals but i think we'll be able to uh i tell you if you can i'll give you a scubi snack for every time you can you can work that one yet all right pewaaki and kewaskam i'm going to look

at the returning starters real quick here i actually again this will be a duel it could be 50 50 a pewaaki with the i think the thing about the duel last year kewaskam probably a little deflated after losing the semis to walkie still one by eight they have a 10 coming back he waskam has 11 coming back big chance for kewaskam to avenge that loss but pewaaki is bobby martin and that's right bobby bobby at words i mean sorry wait i'll give bobby at words and you know what i i had to build up and i picked kewaskam so if you if you said the wrong name that's good stuff so just based on the bobby at words effects i'm taking poewaki which was a really young team last year two and they got good experience and i have them uh winning the third place match port washington and a will not and see if i know we we kind of spoiled it already i think in a sectional like this that seemed like it was going to be so close knit i didn't know what was going to happen and when

i got that information not from zax ranking sorry zaxk i felt like two good freshmen could be the thing to put the pirates over the edge and by the way we felt pretty confident about kewaskam last year but actually no wait did not pick port washington to win last year i remember genius a long time i never i never really partied hard on that now that i think about it i wish i would uh i wish i would have celebrated that win a little more because folks were calling me crazy for it anyways the two freshmen i think put port washington over the edge i feel confident about them that doesn't necessarily mean that they're locks to win this and if there's a team that has the bill to do it it's will not union that they have their hammer and the thing about their eight guys at state steve is a good handful of them one matches it wasn't you have the teams that get through a sectional they get ten to state and they win one or two matches i think it was four or

five guys of those eight one matches so they show that they deserve to be there at the cold center and with the young team the talent they have coming back could they get it done yes but port washington i think is just going to have a little too much they're going to cap off what is going to be a very exciting team sectional i have the pirates winning which means that i have a true second place match you know what i think i'm just going to keep riding will not union year i have them taking second and like you said steve if will not can get eight to state again i think it'll be a little tougher in the sectional this year if they get a good handful to state and i think that could be a good different maker for them in the wildcard process correct and team just the back up that will not union it's not like they went on you know sixteen obviously well they have to shaman but including to shaman they had six guys that won at least a match

and then a couple that that lost in the blood rounds so yeah you are correct they did they represent well so that is our brackets i will all right i can now be to download this now real quick before what i will say steve is i know the competitive spirit of wrestlers and you know port washington could be a forty point favorite in this one by the time the season comes to an end i hope right now there is three programs three communities that are either p.o.d or laughing or wonder and like man i cannot wait to prove these guys wrong in a few months and i and that should be the case i hope like they they get like the picks are they that serious like yeah we do our research and whatnot but you still got to get the job done on the mat i hope there's people that take this one seriously and they get after it because it yeah east well think about these joy last year right we didn't neither one of us picked them and we didn't actually when we

did a re redo with everything he's tried it during the year they we still didn't take them right and we rode with the one again i think that's another thing that'll help will not lose into east Troy last i think learning from that they let us know they let us know in a good way so we'll we'll see how things go but sectional g man i have fired up for d2 sectional g now it's a fun one it's a fun one yeah that was uh last night you and i were text to each other we're like man we finally i mean cut the sectionals up then there's one or two you know there's one team or there's two teams this is the first one and i truly stand by it i think four teams are in the running for this couple are a couple more leading the way right now right but it i would not be surprised if any one of those four teams came out of it that's what we got hey thank you mike appreciate that we had a fun time breaking this one down that's what we got for this one just remember there's going to be an advisory on this because it is rated arg for pirates um podcast that we have next week we have girls sectional f d3 sectional

f for sure and our third podcast is a little influx right now might do with some schedule finale which i know the wheel will not be happy with us but we'll we'll have an update on that so you know we're still always out so we'll be fine but girls sectional f on sunday that is for sure happening and uh until next time thanks everyone for tuning in go brew crew till next time we'll catch you on the floor um
