On March 3rd, firefighters rushed to a derelict sports center on Imperial Way in Coiton on Monday, March 2nd, just before 4.30 in the afternoon. Most of the two-story building was already engulfed in flames when crews from Coiton, Perley, Waldington, Norbury, Mitchum, and nearby stations. Array, you can even know me now. The blaze was brought under control shortly before 10 at night. Station crews stayed on site through the evening to dampen hotspots and prevent any flare-ups. Smoke filled the local area, so officials urged nearby residents and businesses to keep their windows indoors shut. Thankfully, there were no reports of injuries. To fight the fire from above, the brigade deployed two 32-meter turntable ladders as water towers. They also sent up drones for an aerial survey, which helped commanders plan their tactics and check the surroundings. Investigators are still working to figure out what sparked the fire, while crews monitor the site to ensure it stays safe.
