Pittsburgh Penguins Captain Sinny Crosby is back in the lineup after missing just three

weeks with a lower body injury.

The 38-year-old superstar was placed on injury reserve back on February 25th and was expected

to sit out at least four weeks.

He got hurt during the Olympic quarterfinals while playing for Team Canada, taking a body

check from Czechia defenseman Radkogutis.

He practiced fully this week and coach Dan Mew's confirmed his return ahead of Wednesday's

match-up.

Meanwhile, the Penguins held their own without Crosby and Evgeny Malkin, going two wins,

one loss and two ties.

Forward Ricard Rekel stepped up big time and deserves more credit for keeping things

steady.

The team now sits second in the Metropolitan Division and eighth overall in the NHL, chasing

their first playout spot in four years.

Crosby has been lights out this season, with 27 goals, 32 assists, and 59 points in 56

games.

They face the top team in the Metro, the Carolina Hurricanes, on Wednesday at 7pm Eastern

Time.
