They snaggle Ohio State Safety Caleb Downs at Pick 12, a talented playmaker who slides due to size questions and knee medicals, beating out some wide, receivers ahead. Then at 20, they trade back with Kansas City, grabbing the 29th pick, a third-rounder at 72 and a 2027-5th. Then nets them UCF Edge-Rusher Malachai Lawrence at 29, a combine beast with a 9.90 relative athletic score, 6 foot 4, frame and rising stock after his 4.5-240. Day 2 keeps the momentum with Texas Cornerback Malik Muhammad at 72, from the trade he is a Dallas native with multiple visits and TCU. Blindbacker Caleb Alarms, or at 92 via San Francisco, checking off another local need.

Later rounds add depth, South Carolina defensive tackle Nick Barrett at 152 for runstuffing power, Alabama running back Jam Miller at 1. 77 with his sub 4.5 speed, Oregon tackle, Alatarkey at 180 as a Texas project, and UCF Edge Nigelick Kelly at 2. 18 to double down on pass rush, this hall leaves Dallas loaded and flexible heading into the real thing.
