Cowboys Sign QB Sam Howell

Earlier this week, Howell had been with the Minnesota Vikings at the start of the 2025 offseason. Minnesota shipped him to Philadelphia along with a sixth-round pick in exchange for a fifth and the seventh. But Howell never saw a game action there. Sitting behind Jalen Hertz and Tana McKee. Howell's most notable shot came as a starter with the Washington commanders in the 2023-2024 season. He threw for nearly 4,000 yards with 21 touchdowns, but matched that with 21 picks, lost four fumbles, and got sacked. 65 times over 17 games. Those issues with quick reads and decisions hurt his stock. From there, Washington traded him to the Seattle Seahawks, where he suited up for just three games.
