Cowboys' Offensive Line: Guyton's Breakout Year

But the offensive line can't be ignored either, especially with Tyler Gaiden right in the mix as their first round pick heading into year 3. Gaiden's got mad talent from his Oklahoma days, but injuries wrecked his first two seasons. Knee issue in camp, concussion in October, ankle sprain, that shut him down in November. Coach Brian Shottenheimer calls this his big breakout year. Stressing better footwork, balance, and hand placement to lock down left tackle. Those absences forced all pro Tyler Smith off-left guard to tackle duty late last season, messing with the flow. Now, talks wrapped up saying, Smith slides back to guard where he thrives, at least for voluntary workouts and minicamp. Interior line looks solid otherwise. Rookie Tyler Booker balled out as a first rounder and Cooper Beebe's back healthy. Nate Thomas steps up as back up plan, but everything hinges on those tackles staying on the field.
