Cowboys Hit Wall in Pickens Contract Talks

They just inked kicker Brandon Aubrey, which lit promising, but talks with their star pass catcher have gone cold. According to reports from Adam Schefter earlier this week, the team is nowhere near an agreement with Pickens right now. Steven Jones, the Cowboys exec, made it clear that Pickens will suit up under the franchise tag this season, even though he has not signed it yet. Jerry Jones remains pumped about Pickens, noting the third round pick they traded for him last year paid off with solid growth. The owner sees it as the perfect spot for him alongside CDLAM and Dak Prescott in that offense. Still, with no breakthrough in sight, the Cowboys might roll into the year banking on that tag to keep their key weapon in the mix.
