On April 17th, Rushcliffe Burrow Council just dropped 5,000 pounds from its community well-being fund to back a youth project in Kotgray Run by the Piffy & Club. This initiative is all about building an inclusive spot for young folks, focusing on their physical and mental health through fun outreach. The program is already connected with over 150 young people and more than 120 adults via partnerships and activities. They wrote out a multi-sports lineup at the Kotgray Young People Center, mixing fitness sessions with mentoring to keep kids active and supported. Deputy leader counselor Abby Brennan swung by recently to chat with CEO Ben Rosser and some of the participants. She highlighted how it's cutting down anti-social vibes, boosting positive habits and aiding emotional growth for the next generation. Ben echoed that, stressing their push for compassion and real belonging, especially for marginalized youth. The funding has been key in making these structured sessions and progression paths a reality.
