Cop Assaults Kid, Faces Gross Misconduct

0:00On April 28th, a former city of London police officer named Manpreet Callow got hit with a gross misconduct ruling after assaulting a 12-year-old boy off duty. Back on October 24th, 2025, Essex police arrested him for grabbing the kid's arm and trying to hand over some cash while he was drunk near a leisure center. He got convicted of assault by beating accounts for a magistrate's court on December 3rd that same year, pleading guilty and landing of 400. One pound fine, plus 110 pounds in cost, and 150 pounds compensation. City of London police suspended him right away when they heard about the arrest, and he resigned on March 25th, 2026. Witnesses from the leisure center stepped in, and when challenged, he flashed a photo of himself in uniform claiming to be an officer. The incident shook folks because it happened in public with a child involved, raising big questions about off-duty behavior and public trust in cops. Officials stressed this kind of action has zero place in policing, especially when intoxicated.

Even though he'd already quit, they ruled he would have been fired and added him to the barred list, blocking him from any future police job.
