Commanders Re-sign Kicker Moody, Seek Competition

Earlier this week, it seemed like they were done with him after skipping the restricted free agent tender that would have cost $3.5 million. Turns out, that was just a paperwork step and they locked him in on Friday for less money. Moody, a 27-year-old third-round pick from the San Francisco 49ers back in the 2023 draft has bounced around. Lately, he's shown as a rookie, but hit rough patches, including getting cut early in the 2025 season after some missed kicks. He landed on the Chicago Bears practice squad and even played in two games, nailing a game winner against the commanders in week six. Washington grabbed him later that year after parting ways with their veteran kicker.
