Colts Trade Up, Stockpile Picks in NFL Draft

0:00On April 25th, the Colts just pulled off a slit tray down in the second round of the NFL draft, sliding from the 47th pick all the way back to the 53rd spot with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In the deal, they shipped out their 47th overall selection plus a late 7th rounder, number 249, and snagged the 53rd. Pick along with the 4th rounder at 135 and another 7th at 237. Starting into the draft, short on early picks after flipping their first rounder for all pro cornerbacks saw Scar and her last season, the Colts started with just seven selections but now sit pretty with a total. That move paid off quick too, since the Steelers grabbed Alabama wide out Jeremy Bernard right at 47, while edge rushers and linebackers stayed on the board longer than expected. With picks like 53, 78, 113, and more locked in, Indianapolis is stacking ammo for the rest of the draft, setting up for a deeper haul ahead.
