Colts Trade Richardson: New Quarterback Plan

Drafted fourth overall in 2023, the young star's time with the team has been cut short after three injury riddled seasons. Richardson started just 15 of 34 games over his first two years there. Last season, he lost the starting job to Daniel Jones, and dealt with shoulder soreness, a dislocated pinky, and a fractured orbital bone that, behind him for good. Fans and analysts see this as a major disappointment for a high draft pick with so much athletic promise. The Colts built their offense around him with a strong line and weapons like Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman Jr. But it never clicked amid the setbacks. Now the team is fully committed to Jones, even after his own Achilles injury. Officials expect Richardson's agent to land a deal soon, as his future in Indianapolis was already fading. Wherever Richardson ends up, he could still thrive with the right system while the Colts turn their focus to the NFL Combine and building a round.
