Colts Reload Linebacker Room with Draft Picks

On March 30th, Colts GM, Chris Ballard, built a stacked linebacker room back in the day,

snagging talents like Anthony Walker in the 5th round, Shakuel Leonard in the 2nd,

Zaire Franklin in the 7th, Bobby Ocariki in the 3rd, and EJ Speed in the 5th.

They had so many starters, it was almost a problem. Now, they're rebuilding that depth after

trading Franklin to get younger and faster on defense. Ballard kicked off the offseason stress

and speed at every level, and the draft lifts loaded with linebacker options from top to bottom.

They passed on bringing back veteran Jermaine Pratt for the weak side. Instead,

they signed a Kim Davis-Gaether, a former cardinal who spent years as a nickelback

with their DC-LU and Arumo in Cincinnati. He knows the system cold and could start right away

or cover injuries. Jalen Carly's their 5th round pick from last year, who switched from safety,

flash talent, and over 200 snaps as a rookie. But injuries keep sideline in him,

so they can't bank on a breakout just yet. Ballard might eye more free agents for insurance,

but his track record screams draft age-ims, who contribute fast. With the class lick and prime,

expect the cults to reload and light up that linebacker spot again.
