Colts Focus on Line Depth in Draft

0:00On March 25, NFL free agency has slowed down, and the Indianapolis Colt's general manager, Chris Ballard, has been busy, making 10 outside signings, and resigning several of their own players. Right now, the offensive line looks solid up front, with the starting five already locked in for next season. They did lose a couple key pieces, like offensive tackle Braden Smith, who went to the Houston Texans, and interior lineman Danny Pinter, who joined the Baltimore Ravens. On the plus side, they brought back tackle Luke Tanuda to help out. Fans and analysts are breathing easier about the starters, but the real worry is depth behind them. Most backups have barely seen the field. Some was zero NFL snaps, and that could spill trouble if injuries hit. Ballard knows this, especially with no first round draft pick, and just seven total selections coming up. The good news is, plenty of salary cap space remains for more moves. As the draft approaches, expect the Colt's to target line depth to shore up this unit and protect their quarterback for a strong run next year.
