Colts' Defensive Front Strengthens with New Talent

They added 11 new players in free agency, but lost key guys like Michael Pittman, Zaire Franklin and Braden Smith. Still, Ballard believes this shores up their line big time. Take Colby Wooden, the 300 pounder from Green Bay. He started at nose tackle there despite being undersized, ranking 38th in run stops among defensive tackles. Now with the Colts, he brings versatility alongside Jerry Tillery, who adds pass rush heat. The defense struggled last year, sitting 30th in pass block win rate. Derek and Amy joins as a runstuffer, and Ballard loves how these moves create real rotation options up front. Meanwhile, additions like Michael Clemens and Arden Key boost the edge.
