That season opener was tough, but Skyview bounced back to snagged the 4-A State baseball championship with Schmidt anchoring the infield. Fast forward to this week, and their pass crossed again as rival head coaches. Johnson now leading Battleground, Schmidt in his first year heading. He shifted to political science at Western Washington, graduated post-COVID in 2021, and returned to Skyview as a paradoocator.
