Chingford Bar Loses Licence After Stabbing

The incident happened at Scorpion Lounge on Hall Lane around 448 AM on Sunday, February 1. Two men ended up in hospital with multiple stab wounds, prompting quick action from authorities. Earlier last month, Metropolitan Police asked Waltham Forest Council to review the venue's license over several serious breaches. Officers arrived to find no staff on site, the crime scene untouched, and no call made to police from the bar itself. The lounge had special permission from last January to serve drinks to seat at customers only, stopping at 130 AM and closing at 2 AM. But the stabbing went well beyond those hours, and the place skipped mandatory ID scanners too. At a closed door council meeting last Friday, the 20th, counselors heard reports of patrons standing to drink and even pouring their own rounds. That sealed the decision to yank the license completely.
