Chiefs Trade McDuffie to Rams, Gain Draft Picks

The Kansas City Chiefs made waves this week by trading their all pro cornerback, Trent McDuffy to the Los Angeles Rams. In return, they landed the Rams first round pick in 2026 at number 29 overall, along with fifth and sixth round selections. That same year, in a third rounder in 2027, McDuffy, turning 26 in September, came to the Chiefs as their first round choice in 2022 at number 21 overall. He played a key role in three Super Bowl runs during his early years, but extension talks with the team dragged on from last spring through the recent, combined and ultimately stalled. Now the Rams inherited his rookie contract, complete with the fifth year option. Chiefs fans see this as a smart move, especially since it gives Kansas City two first round picks for the upcoming draft, the ninth and 29th.
