Right now, a new mod draft from analyst Lance Zerlin has the Chiefs trading back from the 9th overall pick to the 16th spot with the new York Jets. There, they select offensive tackle Monroe Freeling, a junior from Georgia. This comes after reports that the Chiefs plan to release right tackle Jawan Taylor soon. That leaves a gap on the line, even with Esa Pol stepping up late last season. Freeling, who started at left tackle for Georgia last year, impressed at the combine with his size at six feet seven inches and three fifteen pounds, plus a 4.93 second, 40 yard dash, and strong jumps.
