From the land of the free and the home of the chiefs, this is the Lockdown Chiefs podcast. You are Lockdown Chiefs. For daily Kansas City Chiefs podcast, part of the Lockdown Podcast Network, your team

every day. Welcome in Chiefs Kingdom. I am your host, Ryan Tracy from RogapyC.com and NFL33.com and our hero football deck. Thank you for joining me. To this bonus episode, I just have to say it's all coming together, and Brett Beach is doing his job. We're going to talk about that today. We're brought to you by FanDuel. We'll make sure you check that out. FanDuel is giving away a turn to turn that energy into even bigger potential with a college basketball parlay profit boost. Head to fandual.com to get started right now. Brett Beach has already gotten started. If you missed the Friday Daily Show, I went into the signings and the potential signings that are still left on the table, and it's all to produce this plan. One up later, I want to talk about what is going to be the fortune of that plan, and it is the defensive tackle spot. But the plan right now is to make sure that lessons have been learned, that Brett Beach understands they don't want to be pigeonholed, and they want to make sure that nobody knows

what they're doing. Talked a little bit about Mike Organsi's comments this week. And the fact that they had to hold the patch of my homes then close to the best for almost a year, they can do that. And I think part of everything that Brett Beach does is understanding that the league is listening and putting some of those fears aside by signing Jack Cochran back, by signing some of the low level players back so that you have depth, making sure that a Margin Mercado, the contract came out and it's basically that min, 1.3 I believe. That's not a huge investment, but to the league, it tells you, oh, he doesn't have to go make a huge investment because he's got guys, they can get the job done in these roles. And it takes away what the league thinks the chiefs have to do. That's critical to this. That's probably the bigger payoff is that you get to keep the mystery about your draft plan. Brett Beach enjoys that. It's a tool by not having such a just wickedly apparent weakness that you have to go

address. It allows you to be a little bit more cat and mouse, to move around the board, to have more potential trade partners, both at nine and 29 and I think 40 as well. I don't know that they end up taking all three or any of those three actual selections. I think they could move around the board in all way shapes and forms. There is a possibility that a passenger like Bane falls to them and maybe they just have to do that. But if it doesn't happen, there is the potential to move down in the first move up with your second pick more towards the range that Trent McDuffy was at, which was 21 George Kroloftes was shortly thereafter. That whole range is where you can get some value, but you got to give up a little bit to get there. And I think that might involve moving down from 40 to 45 or something or moving it up a little bit as well. All that can happen when you don't have to go to the poker table with your cards showing.

If teams know what you need and know what you're targeting, it makes it harder to affect the trades that can actually help you get those things done, but it also makes it hard to get trade value. So in a draft that I don't think is going to be a blockbuster with the volume of trades, I think where the trades happen and the picks that are exchanged are going to be critical. Not just for the cheese, but for this whole league. So filling that gap, setting the table so that there's no valleys. You look at the roster, right? And for teams around the league, they want to project production at each position, right? And so when you have teams up here that are defensive tackle now solidified with Chris Jones on top, that's a pretty good productive prediction, right? There are positions that are low, that are troughs. And teams know that if you don't have a lot of projected production out of that position, that you have to go target it. And so by taking away that clue, it allows you to be more crafty with your deal making that allows you to be more suspenseful and get more value so that you can do more things.

Chiefs currently sit at nine draft picks. Do they take those nine? I don't think so. Do they drum it down to eight or seven, even possibly? They could even pick up more. Who knows? If they do, my guess is it's likely in next season rather than this. But if they don't, there's some value late in the draft. And I think that's really what they're pushing for as they should be. A lot of them are defensive tackle. Welcome to the five hour energy flavor draft. We're looking at every aspect of the draft to let you know which tasty flavors are the best and which ones might be sleepers. The board is set, the flavors are ready and the only one is going to take that top spot. My favorite thing about five hour energy is it gives you that boost with zero sugar. So I get the pick me up and I don't have that sugar crash later and that's what I need for absolute certain. So all you got to do is get into the flavor of it, whether you want confetti craze or fruity brainbow cotton candy, all of them, make sure that you get what you're looking

for. I personally consider a little bit of everything what I'm looking for. I like cotton candy. So that's probably what I picked today. That's why you want to be there. And that's probably where I'd put it right at the top of the draft right now. You can do the same. Find your new flavor at five hour energy. Those shots are available. Only I'm on it. Five hour energy dot com or Amazon. College basketball is nonstop big games tight spreads momentum swings every single night. From early tip offs to the late night west coast action shootouts. There's always action on the board and you can get in there. And now Fando was giving you a way to turn that energy into even bigger potential wins with college basketball parlay profit boost right here. You can build in any college who parlay you want from rivalry games to ranked matchups, whatever fits your need or what you're reading in there. Place up the spreads the totals the player props. We build content for you guys every day and we appreciate you being here are every day or club takes care of business and if you want in on a Brad free audio and access to our exclusive discord make sure you check out locked on cheese that's your gas.com and check me out at rogapc.com for the athletic matrix and the coming draft guide as well as my sites of NL33.com and RGR football.com lot coming here and I want to take a spotlight on the defensive tackle position a lot of hubbub if you don't know you haven't seen my rankings in particular yet there's a lot of back and forth I think Caleb McDonald's the best defensive tackle in this class I'm not as impressed with the year that Peter Woods had last season yes or year prior he was it was much better but I don't see that progression I am concerned about and I think McDonald still has a pun on upside guys like Lee Hunter Christian Miller I think that they are dynamic Christian Miller brings some juice to he's one of the first

juice players I think in the rankings of defensive tackle that could make sense well he last to 40 I don't think so and I'm not sure the chiefs can afford to spend 29 on him but players like Kayla Banks I think we're seeing fall Lee Hunter has fallen a bit just because of the testing like very good player especially as the season won't wound down and I think he still got something to give there it's not necessarily the past rush and past rush is what the chiefs need the most so what I'm looking for is value and as I go down you guys already heard us and me particularly talk about Grayson Houghton who is a bit of an undersized defensive tackle from Oklahoma that is the best past rusher in this class by production alone it's got a very good athleticism score as well you'll see that in the athletic matrix if you want to grab that but I want to highlight a couple of other options as well because now as we talk about death and we talked about the chiefs having nine picks we can space it out a little bit

if Christian Miller mixed 40 he could be an option there Houghton would be around the 74 ranges my guess could fall to 109 but I'm not certain of that so if those guys are off the board who who else has some juice one guy that stands out to me that is likely to be an end of the day three or top I'm round three or of round four day three is Ray Sean Benny from Michigan I like what he does he's got a solid grade he can get leveraged at times but he plays low and and I think that he is somebody else that could come in and be that second tier defensive tackle that comes along learns from Chris Jones a little bit I like what he does can the proctor is the sweetheart of the ball right now coming from a small school in southeastern Louisiana great past rusher at that level you can see him dominate physically what does that leap look like for him I do think he's going to be a day three guy that they should have their eyes on as well as they go down a little bit more the guy who had the best defensive tackle work out of the combine was Zane Durant he also has decent

production I believe is number two in the production matrix at this point he also will be I think a fourth fifth round maybe maybe slips into six but I think fifth is about the right spot which the chiefs have multiples of right now so keep an eye on Zane Durant as well and my guy has fallen out and I like what he does but the injury concern is real I haven't gotten any positive updates on Skyler Gil Howard but now it looks like he is squarely falling all the way down to the late rounds on day three and I think that's a great value pick up so keep an eye on him as well you never know when somebody else is going to step up to the plate you got guys from UCLA LSU guys that have like one trait that's upside that doesn't quite mean that they're draftable that could be a priority free agent and we know that the defensive tackle spot has to be filled out so that's what I see happening those are some names to keep an eye on as they go through these pro days you might hear sporadic updates about how they're performing those are key to watch as well so that's where we're at hope that you have a great weekend we're going to be back for mock jack monday have it all set up

for you have a great one thanks for listening I very much appreciate it and check out the every day or club if you want that audio lock down cheese that's supercast dot com
