Chargers Re-sign Versatile Lineman Trevor Penning

The Los Angeles Chargers are resigning offensive lineman Trevor Penning to a one-year deal worth $4,500,000. This keeps the versatile player in town after he joined the team last season. Earlier this year, just before the trade deadline, the Chargers acquired Penning from the New Orleans Saints in exchange for a late day 3 draft. Pick in 2027, he stepped in as a swing tackle, providing solid depth without locking down a starting spot. Penning came into the league as a first round pick for the Saints back in 2022, straight out of the University of Northern Iowa. He started at tackle, but shifted to guard during the 2024 season, playing left guard before the trade. With the Chargers, he saw action at both left tackle and right guard later in the year.
