The fourth and final layer in determining a planet's masculinity or femininity is celestial latitude — a planet's distance north or south of the ecliptic, usually requiring a chart printout or computer to check. North of the ecliptic reads masculine, south reads feminine, stacking on top of sign, solar phase, and quadrant. This closes out the full four-layer framework and gets into what it actually means when the layers clash — a masculine planet buried in extreme feminine conditions can breed frustration and boredom, while a feminine planet in extreme masculine conditions can create real emotional pressure, like a Moon in a masculine sign making it genuinely hard to express feelings openly. Know thyself. Balance your energy.
