1:02We're going to be able to get into the schedule coming up here for tomorrow, as well as the World Baseball Classic, as the tournament continues. As the United States is 2-0 and covering the run line on both games. Nine-and-a-half point, nine-and-a-half run favorite on the run line in their first game against Brazil, they won by 10. Eight-and-a-half on the run line in their game here on Saturday against Great Britain. Actually, they do not cover the eight-and-a-half because they won the game nine-to-one. Nine-to-one for the United States is not a cover of eight-and-a-half runs. They win by eight runs. So, hey, shop around. Maybe you got a seven-and-a-half, ha-ha. Anyway, let's take a look at the schedule coming up here for Sunday and some early lines that there's any opportunity to be betting on these games. Coming up in about 15 minutes or so from now, we're going to be joined by Rowan Cavanaugh from Fox Sports, writing a coverage major league baseball.

2:05We'll get their take on the WBC. But college basketball heating up right now, conference tournament time is here, especially when we are in the smaller conferences where we're getting to the semi-finals this weekend, the championship games, we're punching tickets to the big dance obviously. And then, of course, the power conferences will get underway this week. We have, we've already seen some tickets punched to the big dance. Congratulations to Long Island University. That's right, L.I.U. the Sharks without even playing in their conference championship game. They have clinched a bid to the NCAA tournament because of the way that the NEC works, well, not just the NEC, but there's a lot of conferences where certain teams making the jump up from lesser divisions to Division 1, they have to have that probationary period. And so Mercyhurst, who is in the NEC championship game facing off against L.I.U., Mercyhurst is ineligible for the NCAA tournament.

3:06So L.I.U., just by winning the semi-final, is already in the NCAA tournament. So congratulations for them to get that victory. And then congratulations to Tennessee State, Tennessee State, who wins the Ohio Valley as they are going to the NCAA tournament. They won the OVC championship against Morehead State 93 to 67. So we are also going to keep an eye on the games coming up here for the rest of this week. And here on Sunday, we have the Missouri Valley Conference Championship game here on Sunday. And Arch Madness Unders are all the rage. We've been talking about it now all week. I tweeted about it. Beeson retweeted me. We talked about the numbers. It has been incredible. Last year, 10-in-1 to the under in the Arch Madness tournament, which is the Missouri Valley Conference tournament played in St. Louis.

4:07We started off 3-0 this year. And actually, let's see, we started off 3-0 this year to the under. It is now 5-4 to the under this year. So we started off 3-0, but then there was the 3-1 under day on Friday. And then it went 1-1 here on Saturday. Or 3-1 over day, excuse me. And actually, those numbers got bent down significantly. And then now we have 1-1 here on Saturday, the championship game between, let's see. UIC, let's see, UIC, Illinois, Chicago, is going to be taking on, let's see, Northern Iowa. And the line in this game, the total in this game, is at 1-24 and a half. Now, this is a low total. But we are in the last four tournaments. We are 3-1 to the under in the Missouri Valley Conference.

5:15So we talk about the under's dominating here. The under's have also been dominant in the championship games. 3-1 to the under in the last four championship games. Now, I'm looking at some of these games here. And this year, by the way, 1-24 and a half is the lowest total that we have had in this tournament this year. 1-27 and a half was the lowest total prior to that. That was the Northern Iowa game against Evansville. And that one did go under. Okay. And then also Northern Iowa against Bradley here in the semi-final, and that game went over. Both games at 1-27 and a half. Now, Northern Iowa against UIC, total of 1-24 and a half. It's hard for me to bet this under as much as I want to.

6:16Here's the thing. I'm curious how the market treats this game. Because we have seen, at least in the first round, people were betting the overs. I don't want to say people. There might have been a group that was betting the overs. Because simultaneously, all the market changed on all the games. And they were hit to the over. And then we saw the 3-0 to the under. It then became public. Everyone's talking about it. Everyone's tweeting about it. I'm talking about it. I'm tweeting about it. Veecin's talking about it. Veecin's tweeting about it. And we saw all of the totals get hit to the under on Friday. And then we go 3-1 to the over. It was kind of neutral here. It kind of split the moves on Saturday. And it goes 1-1. Well, in the three, in the four previous championship games. So the last four years, so starting with the 2021 season. So 2022-20, 23-20, 24, and then 25 last year. Again, we are 3-1 to the under.

7:16The average total in these games has been 131.8. So we had a 130 total four years ago. Right? And that one went under by, I believe, six points, let's see. No, one under by eight points. Okay. And that was an under. Then we had a total of 130, the following year in 2022. And that went under by two points. Then we had a total of 148 and a half. And that went, that was an over. So as high as that was, 148 and a half, that went over by, like, 15 points. That was no overtime game either. 84-80, well, Drake and Indiana State. And then last year, Drake and Bradley get this. The total, 118.5. And it went under. 63-48 was the final score.

8:16Now, think about that. We had a run going into that championship game in that tournament. The unders were nine and one. So think about the market suppressing that number to get to 118 and a half. And it still went under. Ten and one is what the unders finished at last year. So this total is at 124.5. Again, I'm very curious to see how the market reacts. And if there's any adjustments as we get closer and closer to this game here on Sunday. So that's one that I will absolutely have my eyes on. And also in the top 25, and we'll talk about this. Our very own Greg Hoops Peter Sim will join us here. I'm going to get his take on the MVC. I also get his take on Michigan, Michigan State. I don't know what a handle this game. Number three Michigan, number eight Michigan State, it's in Ann Arbor. Michigan is a nine and a half point home favorite right now. There's nothing on the line here. I mean, is bragging rights?

9:17Sure, there's always bragging rights. But in terms of playing for like if Michigan loses this game and then Michigan wins the big 10, Michigan's a number one seed. And honestly, if Michigan loses this game and then doesn't win the big 10 championship, they're probably still a one seed. Because they're not going to drop beyond, you know, the number five team right now. Let's say it's like Yukon, right? Is the number five team right now. And with Yukon's lost by the way, that's why they're number five. Like Yukon losing to Marquette. They're not a number, they're not a one seed. Your one seeds are Duke, Michigan, Arizona, and Florida. Those are your one seeds. So even if Michigan loses this game and then loses in the big 10 semi-final, let's say, or final, whatever it is, they're still going to be a one seed. They're not going to get downgraded. But if Michigan state wins this game, there is a chance that Michigan state can get a two seed.

10:20Right now, looking at the bracket matrix, the majority of the brackets have Michigan state as a two seed. Michigan state loses this game, though, let's say. And then they lose in the big 10 quarterfinals or semi-finals or finals. Are they still going to be a two seed? Or do they drop down to a three seed if there's a good performance by one of these like potential three seeds in their conference tournaments? Like if Iowa State has a big conference tournament, let's say it's Purdue that winds up knocking out Michigan state or Purdue goes on to the big 10 championship game. Does Purdue go from the three line to the two line? Does the team like Nebraska in the big 10? There's still a lot that's up for grabs here. Does where does Gonzaga fall? They're going to win the West Coast. I think Michigan state has more to gain here with a win than Michigan has in this game. So I would lean towards taking the points here with Sparty in this final game of the regular season. I'm Scott Saddenberg, always on Twitter at Scott's on air.

It's curious to see once the competition level gets a little bit better and a lot of bit better honestly to see how the US team handles it. Tarek's school will pitch then it was kind of like that scene from Major League 2 when Rick Wilde thing Vaughn goes out there in the bullpen session and he throws one pitch and then he tells Jake Taylor that's it. So he will not be pitching anymore for team USA and they'll have to rely on some other arms as well as we move on through the next rounds. The pitchers will have more allotment. 15:27and then increase again once we get into the championship rounds. Let's continue the conversation here about the world baseball classic though. Joining us right now on the Progressive Guest Line from Fox Sports is Rowan Cavanaugh. Rowan thanks so much for giving us a couple of minutes here on cash now. What have you made of the tournament so far? How have you enjoyed watching the first couple of games? Yeah it's been fun. I don't think there's been any huge surprises. You know I think you look at it was always kind of a top three that you saw you know they're obviously team USA putting together the best team we've ever seen maybe on a baseball field. I know for the first half of the first couple games it maybe hasn't looked like that and then you've sort of seen that happen again but just an incredible team that they have obviously and you know Japan's the international leaders until prove and otherwise they haven't really given you a reason. I know Korea kept it close with them but haven't really given you a reason to think otherwise there. And then Dominican Republic I mean that lineup is just so stacked really bad showing in the last time out. It sounds like they're pretty motivated just a really fun team to watch when they're clicking and they do seem to be clicking.

16:29And so right now and I guess Venezuela is kind of the other team where I feel like those three are kind of in their own bracket and then Venezuela is almost it's other separate bracket too. Clearly I think the fourth best team in this tournament. And so you look at it you know Venezuela is undefeated. Dominican Republic is undefeated. Japan is undefeated. USA is undefeated. Puerto Rico with a really fun finish to that one and you know we hadn't seen any I guess you know what I make of it we hadn't ever seen a walkoff home run in this tournament before which is kind of crazy to think about. We've had two today so that's really the fun stuff here and when it's in Puerto Rico for that to happen that was just electric so I think that's the other thing here it's it's it's such an international game but when you see these places when you have you know San Juan hosting games and you have Puerto Rico playing there and you just see how into it everybody is that's an atmosphere you just can't really replicate a lot of other places. Yeah and it's exciting once we do get everybody together for the elimination rounds and you do get those fans whether it's the Puerto Rican fans or the other Latin American fans that do come to the ballpark and they start banging their drums and making noise and it does

17:33show the American fans that are watching on television that's like hey this is different than what we're used to seeing when we're watching the Yankees take on the Dodgers let's say or something else so it is really fun I do enjoy it from that aspect of it the odds to win now they have changed a little bit despite nothing really changing the standings the United States was minus one 10 to win the tournament coming into it now it's minus one 15 the Dominican Republic though has overtaken Japan as the second favorite at plus 350 Japan right there next to them though at plus 380 and Venezuela at plus 700 I've long said Rowan there's no value in betting the United States at minus one 15 like listen you're better off just betting the United States in their quarter final game then mechanical parlay roll over your winnings and bet them in the semi final roll over your winnings and bet them in the championship game I promise you you're going to do better than the minus one 15 and oh there's a chance that they lose there's a chance that someone beats them if there is a hiccup along the way from the United States who is the team that does

18:33give them that upset loss yeah I mean I I don't think you're worried about pool plan I know again I mentioned it I think you're watching you know it's the eighth inning of the Brazil game and it's a three run game I know you look at at the blow at the end and when Brazil walks 17 batters at some point that's going to come back to bite but then you even look at the middle innings of the great Britain game and they're chasing great Britain I mean the end results are what we thought they would be but getting there certainly hasn't been I I think they've yet to kind of really put a full game together I'm not too concerned about that happening I still think they're going to you know cruise out of pool B but yeah once you start to get to to you know quarter finals semi semi finals yeah I think like I mentioned it the two teams before it's the Dominican Republic in Japan and you know I put together some some power rankings before the tournament and I had DR second just ahead of Japan and and maybe that's unfair Japan it just been so dominant in international play but from the pitching side for them just maybe not quite what it was in in 23 they're still

19:36stacked offensively and and it's just such a cohesive group that Japan has and you know you see Seia hitting bombs and and you know Yoshida and the MPB stars they have are are really incredible I'm not at all worried about that offense I don't know if they're they have the depth to win it again this year I'm obviously they could they're a top three team year but I just think that DR lineup when that group is is clicking and motivated and in it the way that they they seem to be that is a team that can put runs up really really quickly then as well also not to be messed with so I think you're looking toward kind of the semi finals finals that either of those teams that those line-ups get hot can can really cause problems I'm curious to see what happens in pool sea I know Korea is playing right now I don't know if that's wrapped up they have a really interesting offense that I don't know if they have the pitching to really be a huge surprise where we're talking about semi finals or finals or really upsetting but if they get through their offense has some punch and

20:39and I think we've been underrating Australia before this I mean they almost made it to the semi is in the last tournament now they're two and oh they don't have the pitching to win this whole thing but an interesting team there I know I've kind of I feel like I'm bouncing around quite a bit here but the other two teams I'm interested really interested in are Canada and Italy you look at kind of the MLB talent especially that they have in the lineup I think it leaves a real threat to be the runner up in pool B I know Mexico is probably favored there but they had some drop outs toward the end and that Italy lineup has a lot of really interesting pieces you know Noah's part of that group now too on the pitching staff so that'll be interesting to see who ends up being the runner up in that group I'm glad you brought up Italy because they're the team that I think is not getting enough love here in this tournament we're talking to Rowan Cabner from Fox Sports writer for MLB I'm Scott Saddenberg this is cashing out here on Veson we don't have a line up just yet for their game coming up against the great Britain but I'd be interested in playing

21:40the run line here on Italy to be great Britain they they have an MLB player at every position and they got some young talent on this team they have some boppers as well it's not just about drinking the espresso and the dugout here Rowan this team has this team has talent and it's I think's being overlooked here granted they didn't play anybody like they played Brazil that was that you know that they blew them out just like the United States blew them out right but I think that they're going to have a nice time here an easy time a great Britain and then when they face the United States I got to be honest I think I'm going to take the runs with team Italy I think they can put up runs and I think if you've looked at what's happened so far I know you know that you mentioned you know schoolboy that's what he needs to do and gets kind of doing it last two games to see a lead off home runner couple times surprising to see Brazil be able to put up five runs I know again it was a blowout but that's was surprising for me to see I don't expect that necessarily to continue but yeah I do expect Italy to be able to put up runs regardless

22:44of of who that team is facing even against the U.S. I wouldn't be surprised if they're able to at least play a few here but yeah that that lineups for real I mean I you know I know we look at Pascantino but you know they have Marcia they have Kyle Teal who was had an incredible year can zone was underrated and just an absolute bomb in this last game so these are real players and I think kind of the big wild card here is is caglione who I know struggled in his first taste of the majors but we know the the power that he possesses the raw power he has and the potential he has it'll be really interesting maybe this is the time where he kind of puts it together on this stage you can kind of take that into the the 26 season but yeah there's some real guys on this team and I said it I think you know there's a clear top three I think there's there's a clear four Venezuela I think Mexico and Puerto Rico are probably kind of on the same level and then you just have this this kind of grouping here where I'm looking at teams like like Italy like Canada who I would not be surprised if if they're able to make a run I would probably put Korea in that

26:00seed go out the window now I know there might be an argument saying well they could still run through the biggest tournament right and win and then you're looking at you know Duke Arizona Michigan and you can as the fourth number one seed I think you cons lost first off to Creighton a couple of weeks ago or a week and a half ago and then losing to market here on Saturday which gave Saint John's the outright Big East title I think that loss eliminated you con from the number one line what do you think Greg I think so I was even asked about this with Femi a buffet about a week or two ago on I believe it was one the shows it might have been live but Saturday but I remember he was asking me do you think that you con or Florida might get that final number one I kept saying Florida mainly because you knew that Florida was going to be able to get more opportunities at quality wins because out there in the Big East you've got you con Saint John's and Villanova is probably your low another lock for the NCAA tournament maybe seeing all gets in there but they've been flailing down the stretch as well you mentioned that Creighton loss that was rough for them and then

27:02losing to market today I'm a man from the great state of Wisconsin market has been absolutely terrible this year like that is an indefensible loss right there and for Florida they just I continue to say this they are not the best team in college basketball but they might have the highest ceiling of any team in college basketball the way that the guards have given you had nothing whatsoever they're finally starting to find it a little bit more from three four inch boogie fland has been looking better and better by the game the out there in the SEC Florida's not just winning games they're winning games big we saw what they were able to do against Kentucky here on this Saturday I do believe that Florida's going to be able to get that final number one seat all right Greg so here's the bet because let's project out the seeds and let's give Duke Michigan Arizona and Florida the four number one seeds well there's odds out there different sportsbooks offer it I've seen it anywhere from minus one eighty five to even north of minus two hundred will I number one seed win the NCAA tournament so I'm basically saying you have those four teams or the field what are you

28:05betting I would have to lay the juice I probably wouldn't want to go much past minus two dollars but I mean it's really hard to see anyone outside those top four teams really being a shall we say big competitor to be able to win the title now could a team be able to make the final four like a Yukon yeah I could see them making a final four but if you put Yukon up against any one of those four teams and say a final four matchup I'm going to favor any one of those four teams like maybe and I would say makes a little bit run but they've been looking awful down the stretch Purdue is just object all over themselves I don't know why I feel like his interesting team but they've been like your buddy at the bar every single time they get into a close game they can't close maybe Michigan sake can give you a little bit of something but I don't know if they have enough offense to be able to win the title so I would be looking at those top four teams that's what I said I said you know it's cute when people want to talk about the long shots and they want to say I like this team at twenty five to one I like this team at thirty to one save your money they're not winning the national championship and especially in this new era of college sports

29:07that that we exist in Greg it's not as shocker that last year we had four number one seeds in the final four and it's not going to be a shocker if it's the same exact thing this year and if you asked me am I taking those four teams or the field I'm taking those four teams because if you look analytically we're seeing Duke and Michigan in particular put up numbers that we haven't seen in decades like nineteen ninety nine was the last time on Kenpon we had a team go into the NCA tournament with a net rating above forty coincidentally that was Duke and that's what Duke's going to do this year and Michigan could do it as well we're talking about historic numbers these teams are putting up oh we definitely are and I you remember me last year getting a little bit admonished for the fact that I took four number one seeds to the final four but low on the hold that was absolutely correct now could we see a little bit more upset a little bit more parity this year absolutely because I do think that unlike the three lines the four lines there are some teams are looking very fragile right now like Kansas I was state Houston you've got a lot of teams that

30:10have been taking losses so I don't think that we're going to have quite as much shock as we did a season ago I do think that perhaps like I was saying in Illinois in Michigan state if the draw breaks right they catch one of these seams on a bad day they could be able to make a final four as well that said I think that you're probably going to be seeing at the very minimum two one seeds be able to make the final four if not right three like I said probably not four but I do think that those top four teams very clearly are headed shoulders above the rest of the country looking ahead to tomorrow schedule here Greg Sunday we have a top 10 matchup number three Michigan number eight Michigan states the final game of the regular season they're in the big 10 Michigan's laying 10 and a half but what does each team have to play for Michigan's already clinched the big 10 regular season they're the number one seed in the tournament Michigan state has already clinched the double by so it doesn't matter if they're the two seed or the three seed in the big 10 conference tournament so what is really on the line here besides pride besides wanting to you know beat up on your rival going into the big 10 tournament how did you handicap this game yep and for Michigan

31:16state I think it means a little bit more to them as well because if Michigan is not on the one line that would be a shock to everyone Michigan state they very much do want to be able to secure perhaps a two seed perhaps a three seed so they do so have a little bit of something to play for and I did take the place with Michigan state these interesting rivalries we do see a lot of times the underdog has quite a bit of value in them look at the Miami of Ohio versus Ohio game on Friday I and at North Carolina did not get the job done outright against Duke but if you took 17 F 18 F points he got there with them as well so I feel like the number is a little bit too big I semi-line at 8 F and a lot of it has to do with the way the Michigan state plays there's lore game I try to earn 80th in the country in terms of total possessions brand and they don't give you second chance it's a score in games played away from home teams grab 18.4% of their mishats as an offensive rebound that is number one the country top three team in terms of points a lot on a perfect session basis and they did not look good in the back after the game against Rutgers and don't think for a second that Tom is oh it's not going to utilize that as a coaching message to try to be able to get his team up for this game so to take the place here with Michigan
