Carr's Comeback Hits Snag, Jets Pursue Cheaper QBs

The team bounced back by drafting Tyler Show in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft as their new potential franchise quarterback. Now Carr wants to unretire because he still loves the game and believes his body can handle it. Teams like the Minnesota Vikings, Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers have been mentioned as possible fits. Those squads could use a veteran like him to push for playoffs. A Jets insider recently poured cold water on any move there. The team has no plans to chase Carr right now. Instead, the Jets are targeting cheaper options, like quarterbacks cut by other teams with big contracts left. That means guys such as Kyler Murray, Geno Smith, or even Tua Tago Veloa if he's released. Geno Smith looks like their top choice and many expect Murray to head to Minnesota. This narrows Carr's options at a tough time.
