Cardinals Release Dalvin Tomlinson, Save Cap Space

They released defensive lineman Daoven Tomlinson on Friday, just days after two other moves. Tomlinson had signed a two-year contract worth $29 million last offseason and started every game this season. He recorded 26 tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss, and three quarterback hits. That was down from his prior years, where he noshed at least two and a half sacks and ten quarterback hits each time. He was set to earn a $1 million roster bonus soon, and over $12.7 million total. This release saves the Cardinals $9.4 million in cap space, though it leaves $6.8 million in debt money from his, signing bonus. Combined with cuts to Belau Nichols and the King Davis-Gaither, they've now freed up more than $20 million overall. In defense, the line looks thinner without Tomlinson and Nichols.
