Car Crash & Shooting: Targeted Attack in Rochdale

0:00On March 14, new video footage from Rochdale shows a dramatic car crash right before a suspected shooting. On March 5, around 317 PM, a YSUV on reservoir street in the Belfield area got rammed by a black SUV amid busy traffic. Just minutes later at 320 PM, police responded to reports of gunfire nearby on Besswick Roid Street where they found a 19-year-old man with a serious leg injury from what looked like a gunshot. Two men wearing balaclavas were caught on camera sprinting from the scene right after the smash. The injured man was rushed to hospital with what doctors called life-changing wounds. Officers set up a cordon around damaged vehicles and debris from the black SUV. Local police have called this a targeted attack with no threat to the wider public. They stressed. It shook up the community so they've kept a strong presence on the streets to reassure residents. Superintendent Lucy Smallwood noted officers arrived in minutes and are chasing every lead.

1:00Investigators linked a white 4x4 found burning three miles away near Water Grove Reservoir to the case. Pictures from the scene showed the wreckage tied to the crash and shooting. As of March 14, no arrests have happened, but the probe continues full steam ahead to track down those responsible.
