A driver crashes vehicle into the doors of Temple Israel, a large synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan on Thursday afternoon, and he died in. The incident. Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said the man drove down a hallway inside before the car caught fire. Security guards fired at him as he approached, and one guard hit by the vehicle is expected to recover after hospital treatment. The synagogue, one of the biggest reformed Jewish centers in the country, has a preschool that was safely evacuated with all 140 students, and staff accounted for. Responders praised the security team for their quick actions, and officials cleared the burned vehicle for possible explosives just to be safe. Parents and grandparents rushed to the scene, anxious for their kids, with some collapsing in relief once everyone was confirmed safe.
