Caprock Canyons Grows with New Land, Barndominium

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department picked up two ranches, the Hawkins Ranch at 1,120 acres back in January 20th. 26 and the Rocking W Ranch with 1,066 acres from 2024. These additions bring in stunning features like over 4.1 miles of creeks on the Hawkins property, plus sweeping views of the Cap Rock, escarpment and plenty of native wildlife such as quail, mule deer, coyotes and bobcats. Over on the Rocking W side, there's a 5,000 square foot furnished barn to minium perfect for group retreats. Park leaders are thrilled because this protects key views in watersheds while giving the Texas State bison herd more room to roam on the high plains. It also opens up fresh spots for hiking, horseback riding and other outdoor fun for visitors.
