Main Street Bank member FDIC, Equal Housing Opportunity Lender. We take opportunity in this Friday morning, March 13th, 2026. I'm John Paul Flame, joined by Jason Bishop. Hey, what's up? And Johnny Cakes Avidl. Hey, what's up? Good Friday at all. Happy Friday, running the three-man show today. Say hello to the boys on the glass. EBS got a volleyball tournament. Matt and Mike. They're here. Yep. I learned yesterday. And I guess I should have picked up on this the last several years where EBS kids play volleyball. Yeah. That volleyball team's in the area. They don't have a regular season. They just have tournaments. So like a soccer team, for example. If you're a soccer team in Rockville, let's say, you're going to play Bethesda and you're going to play Olnay and you're going to play the local teams in the area. In terms of Virginia. Makes sense. But in volleyball, I guess that doesn't exist. The same thing. The same thing with Sapa.
Oh, really? Travel Sapa. Yeah. Just play tournaments. I didn't know that. There's no league. I did not know that. Well, man. I just learned it. Also, so much travel sport. Did you know that? How would I know that? Right. There's no, there's no scenario where I should and or would know that. I thought the tournaments were an add-on. You know, I'm used to the soccer model and some of the sports that my kids have played. But volleyball, I guess, besides the high school season. If you're playing on a club, you only play tournaments. So EBS traveling somewhere. He's in Philly, right? Yes. Philadelphia. I was trying to remember because he was, wasn't he just in North Carolina? Yes. Thanks, Phil. Wait a minute. North Carolina. Boy, he was just here. Was he? Not he was local. Yeah, he was local. But in the last couple of weeks, I can't keep up. I can't travel so much. I can't keep up. He travels more than like a touring band. I can't remember if he was in the summer. I didn't think it was going to happen.
Maybe not. Maybe not. You went to North Carolina. But he's in Philly. Lucky him, he's in Philly. He's in Philly. Well, he can go. This is your favorite bar. How do do the new bar? That spot. Yeah. You know, college basketball is heating up. Obviously, we've got the conference tournaments going on. And last night, as I went to bed, kind of late, I put on the TV. And Georgetown was playing Villanova and that snake, Kevin Willard. And it was a close game. And so I stuck with it for a while. And then Georgetown went on a bit of a run. And I was enjoying it. And Georgetown has had a down year. I think they're still sub 500, even with that win. They are. I think they're one game under 500. But their win in the first round of the tournament was their first tournament win in several years. Not a shock because Coolie's predecessor, Patrick Ewing, was a complete flop. And now they've won another game as they beat Villanova last night to give the semifinals of the Big East tournament. Now I went to bed before the end.
I was like, I think they had a 12-point lead when I went to bed. It's like, they can't blow this 12-point lead before minutes to go. So I woke up. Saw it. I had some big kid from New Zealand that was just taking care of business. Seven footer from New Zealand. Oh, yeah. 21. And then I was curious to see how he'd performed this year. And he had a couple games early in the season, where he's in the 20s. But usually he's around seven or eight. He only averages nine and a half. Julius. Holly Fanua. Oh. I don't know if that's how you pronounce the name. That sounds pretty good. Sounds close. Saved his best performance for the tournament. Yeah. Nice to see nobody's shedding a tear for Kevin Willard. No, nobody in this room. I certainly know. Yeah. 51%. Wow. I mean, it's kind of a bad loss for Villanova. I mean, Villanova is going to go the tournament anyway, but you would expect Villanova to beat Georgetown. But that's, yeah, that's good win. So they get to the semi. Now they got by Yukon. So season probably ends, but people would have thought the season would have ended against Villanova.
Yeah. True. And probably people would have thought the season would have ended the game before that. So they're in a bit of a run. It's good. They won. Yesterday, they beat Fordham. That was an 1130 game. They had a big lead in the first half and then Fordham came back and if they tied it, it was tight in the last five minutes real, real tight. But GW comes away with the win. Now they got to play St. Louis, number one seed, not going to be easy, but we're rooting for Chris Caputo. Another 1130 game. Super 1130 yesterday. 1130 today. Stack up those 1130 starts. Yeah. They probably already up. The big win for the Washington capitals last night and they broke the Sabers eight game dub streak. I know. Keeping their very slim and faint playoff hopes alive, their, their chances not to qualify for the playoffs, leap from six and a half percent to nine to, no, actually, over 11%. Who? All right. And next they face the Bruins who they're chasing for the wild cards, but they face them at Capital One tomorrow. Tomorrow. That could be a two point swing. It's a big one.
They're down five right now. Yeah. Wild card race and by my math, sticking to what John Walton said on his broadcast the other day, when he said they needed to go 13 and four, well, then it was 13 and three. Now it's 12 and three. Yeah. So if they go 12 and three, coordinate John Walton, caps play by play guy, they should be in like that's the, the point total that they believe they need to hit. Yeah. And hey, the Wizards got to win last night because they lost. Yes. They won because they lost and they were competitive against the magic. That's to me. That's a win. And your ball all went off the law had a monster game. Best game move is career. 29 points. Right. Gotta be career high. Gotta be pretty. Probably as he had more than 29. I don't know these at 30 point outbursts, but really good performance for him. I wasn't watching it live, but I saw highlights and it probably was a sarcastic tweet, but when Bilal hit a three pointer, I think it was to tie the game to push it into overtime.
Yep. Right. They said the whole bench was shaking their heads like they wanted him to miss. Oh, yeah. That's funny because they wanted him to lose. According to, I think I'm on, the drabs are going to kill me for this. I think I'm on Microsoft Edge, which nobody uses. Previous career high for ball 27. So last night, 29. So my, and it was a tray young play game. They're young played and played 21 minutes, scored 15 points. They're shaking their head because Bilal threw up a prayer that banked in and they can't believe it went in. Yeah. Not because they wanted it. Yeah. Yeah. I said it was a sarcastic tweet. I thought you're validating it. No. Hey, Matt, Matt, my 14 bet against the tankers, Parley hit again. Nice. I sort of got, I got to be about 90%. I told you. I told you. I told you. Now, look, $55 only paid me 36. But I bet against the wizards.
Yep. All right. I bet against the nets. All right. I bet against the, hold on. I bet against the bulls and I bet against actually through the, the sixers in there. Okay. I don't know why the sixers piston spread was so big, but it was, it was 14 and a half. I'm guessing some of the sixers starters didn't play. But anyway, so 14 Parley with the pistons, the magic, the hawks and the lakers hit. How long you've been doing that a month? Oh, it's probably at least, right? Why don't you go through your bet slips and figure out what the percentage is? Well, not your percentage. Your plus minus. Yeah. I guess I could do that and start keeping, start keeping track for the rest of the season. Yeah. I mean, that would take up extra pages in his notebook, but I'm guessing he has some spares. I was telling Jason last night, we should just start a segment. We could brand it and get a bumper and everything, just called free money. And he gives his free money play of the day because these have been hit consistently.
Yeah. I mean, there aren't that many regular season games left. Yeah. Let's see tonight. Yeah, but maybe we can do the same thing in Major League Baseball. Now you're going to end up losing a lot more. That's going to be harder. But there are just dreadful teams, I mean, there's no, there's no teams tanking on purpose. No. But there's a bunch of teams, including the team here in Washington. They're bad. I'm going to lose 90 plus games. You never know. Let's see. I don't love the schedule tonight. Although the bulls are playing at the clippers in a back to backer, kind of like that. Oh, Pelicans are at the rockets, taking the rockets. Even though the pelis aren't really a tanker, I mean, they're not as bad as some of these other teams. Nicks are playing at the Pacers. No, the Pacers are tanked. Love that. I got three. I'm looking at tonight. I'm not sure if I'm going to play them all, but I got some, I got some plays. So I love it. And then the, so caps play tonight, or I'm sorry, tomorrow gets lost. Tomorrow, I think is a 3 p.m. puck drop. And that's obviously a must win.
The big one, yeah. It's huge. If they win that, then I think the full grasp is on. I think we can actually frame tomorrow's game for the caps and not even tongue in cheek. It's their biggest game of the year. Yes. They need to win it to keep their faint playoff hopes alive. And it's against the team that they're chasing for the wild card spot. So that is the biggest must win on the docket for the cat. Can we say there if they lose this game, they're pretty much officially out. I mean, they won't be. I think so. Yeah. Yeah. Because they'll, it's a team that they're trying to chase. Correct. Yeah. Get more out of every mile when you share the ride to work with carpooling.
