This episode of my show was inspired by a conversation I was having with a friend of mine the other day where we are talking about the differences between the free markets or free enterprise and capitalism. I scratched my head for a minute and thought there's not a difference. It's free enterprise, capitalism is all the same, right? Well, as I thought about it and learned, we talked about it a little bit more and I looked it up, I went, holy cow, there's a little difference between the two that make them actually very different in how they help or hurt our economy. As you all know, I love these little infographics and these things, these quotes that people

2:03are saying. I did a little bit of a deep dive with some of those and found some interesting ones that pertain to free markets and capitalism. Then as I didn't even deeper dive, I have two different things, actually four different things I'm going to read to you that I thought are going to help not only clarify some of these things and how and why they are economy is either helped or hurt by things that are going on with elected officials and how they intertwine politics into the free markets and we get the result of capitalism. I'm going to explain all of that here in just a minute. I think it would be very interested in hearing some of this stuff. Now, as I was a skater, I had this conversation I was referring to the other day with a friend of mine and I was going through my memes and my infographics. I came across this one, which I thought was pretty interesting. It was a quote, and I'm going to air quote, quote, it has a picture of a Kassier Cortez, which by the way, it's a very good picture of a Kassier Cortez. The show's kind of a solid moment. But up top, it says, do not shut this woman up. It says her quote is this. Under capitalism, man oppresses man.

4:07Under socialism, it's the other way around. Kassier Cortez. And then the captioner needs to says, this shit is gold. Of course, the top says, do not shut this woman up. Well, I have learned to check all of my infographics. One, I still think they're important because they're bringing up things that people are talking about. Of course, everybody's out the shut up or not shut up but make fun of Kassier Cortez. And some of it's deserved. But what I am pointing out in here is that when I fact check this one, all the fact fact checking things I did say that this is actually incorrect. So why am I putting up there for two reasons? One, I think it's important to note that not everything you read on the Internet is true. And even though we know that, we're still inclined to share, share, share, share. Not that I'm always against sharing because sometimes, even when you share the false stuff,

5:09it enlightens us to look into it and learn more about the subject. You never know what you're going to find out, which is what happened with me in this meeting. The other reason, sometimes I like sharing things is just because it sparks interest in a subject, which the same result ends up happening. I know. I looked it up and fact checked and said, this is not accurate. I went, what a great way to make a point. I mean, like seriously, while somebody was, while a, probably somebody on the right, someone who considers themselves a conservative or a capitalist because they believe in capitalism, right? Not being educated on what real capitalism is, which you're going to like this, like I learned a minute ago, when I read it to you, they share something like this to automatically poke fun, but what they didn't realize in this meme is that they're kind of making the point that even though they made this quote up, she, here's, it's funny about this.

6:16They made this quote up or who else have I made this quote up to make fun of Ocasio Cortez, but what they really did was shine the light that they themselves don't know what they're saying. I'm explaining here for one second. It says under capitalism, men oppressors, men. Under socialism, it's the other way around where man oppresses man. But what they don't realize is that by definition, capitalism does oppress man. I'll explain that in a second. I know people out there who don't really truly know the difference between capitalism and free market or the free enterprise system are saying, William, you don't believe in capitalism. America was built on capitalism. Well, after learning more about this definition, I, I'm going to switch what I say to free enterprise or the free markets and not promote capitalism.

7:17I'll get there right now. So as I was reading in this quote and kind of research a little bit, I looked up, the difference between capitalism and the free markets. And it really, they're almost identical except for one key difference. Capitalism, I'm reading this now, by the way. I want to take credit for something that I found on the internet, but this is, I actually researched all this a little bit and found some other things that, anyway, you'll see it's true. Capitalism is an economic system based on private ownership and profit modem. Good, right? Okay. But while a free market is an economic environment where prices and production are determined by supply and demand with minimal government intervention, hence the difference between capitalism and the free markets. Capitalism uses the free market system

8:26but uses government intervention, i.e. politicians, policies, rules, regulations, all determined by the rich and powerful and the lobbyists and major corporations to be able to increase their profit motives or their, their bottom line, their profits. So when you think about this, let me, let me finish up with this little lesson. And I actually, at first said, oh my gosh, I mentioned this a minute ago, I know, but you know, everybody knows the difference between capitalism and the free market system, right? Well, when you read this definition and you read the difference that main difference, the one and only difference, really, you realize there's a huge difference between the two. Key differences, definition and scopes. Capitalism is an economic system, emphasizing private ownership of the means of production, profit generation and wealth, accumulation. A free market is an economic environment or concept where prices and resource

9:35allocations are determined by voluntary exchanges between buyers and sellers without significant government interference. So in a free market system, the people decide prices and what's good to be on the market and supply and demand. In capitalism, it's more about wealth accumulation and profits where they get the government involved to help skew it their way, which as we all know, big industry usually benefits. So the people that are screaming in the streets about, you know, capitalism is bad. Not that it's bad in general, but that the way it is not manipulated, well, it is manipulated, but the way it is used in our free market system ends up being bad for the little guy. I'll go on. Capitalism focuses on the

10:44ownership of capital and productive resources, whereas a free market focuses on the mechanism of exchange and price determination through supply and demand. In capitalism, the government's role can be can vary from minimal to significant regulation, depending on the form of capitalism practiced. In a true free market government intervention is minimal, a market forces alone, regulate prices and production. Capitalism is driven by profit, maximization, and capital accumulation, which means it's going to accumulate toward wealthy and powerful. I have nothing against the wealthy and powerful. I have nothing against big industry. What I am having a problem with is when capitalism uses our government and our elected officials and policy creation through that

11:49system, which empowers them but shuts out the little guy. It kills private ownership. It kills little small businesses. It hurts the little guy. I'll go on. Capitalism is driven by profit maximization and capital accumulation, often leading to competition among private owners. Free markets emphasize unrestricted competition and voluntary exchange where prices adjust naturally based on supply and demand. Capitalism is concerned with creating wealth and controlling production, while a free market is concerned with an efficient allocation of goods and services decentralized decision making. Again, we as conservatives need to really start with these differences because the left-leaning liberal socialists-minded people will tell you

12:57capitalism is bad. That's how the rich and powerful get there. They point out the bad things in capitalism. But because in America, we don't really look at the difference between capitalism and the free markets and free enterprise, which free markets and the free enterprise system is really what America was truly built on. It is really the idea that makes our country have opportunity for everybody. It's the free market and free enterprise system where people can create their own wealth on a small basis. They can ensure their freedom and liberty not only in the marketplace, but in their lives. It's how people stay free. Whereas in a capitalism type of economy,

14:03when we focus it on, I'm going to say some of the things here and men about this, when we just point to capitalism, we as conservatives, Republicans, I mean, look, there's even Democrats to do this too. Capitalism, capitalism America, it's a great thing. Well, we don't realize that it's being used against us when the liberal and the socialist get up there and they say capitalism is bad and we defend it when the actuality is they have some truth to it. Kind of like the Ocasio made up a Casseo Cortez meme that was going on there. So we tend to criticize the socialist and defend capitalism before we really think about it. If we changed our wording,

15:03we would actually win over more people because here's what's happens. The really fiery, motivated liberals and socialists that are out there talking about capitalism, they have just as much correct information about a capitalist system to convince people who aren't really educated on the economic structure of our country that capitalism is bad. For instance, they'll say capitalism is how the rich get richer and the big businesses and big industry get in here. To this day, I would be, I would say they're wrong. Capitalism is great, but when you really study the difference between free markets and free enterprise and capitalism, you kind of see that capitalism is how elected officials in big industry get richer and control the marketplaces.

16:10So it does give a little truth to some of those people, but the problem is that because we're not using the words free markets, free enterprise, which truly describe what we are thinking and believing and what truly describe what works in American system to help bring more people out of poverty, that is the free markets and the free enterprise system. If we really start using that terminology more, we can point out that the liberal socialists are using a portion of capitalism to make people think that the free markets are bad. If we separate the two and say, no, this is why pure capitalism is bad, this is why we need to practice the free markets. We would get more people

17:12on the side of conservative minded people who really truly explain what the free markets are as a way to show that free market, free enterprises not bad, but you kind of show how it's different. We have to change our wording. Kind of like, I won't go off on this for too long, kind of like I say that I wish Republicans did not steal the word conservatism because I know a lot more Democrats that are way more conservative than Republicans, but because Republicans still the word, it becomes a bad thing because oh, the conservatism is Republicans, hey, they believe in those conservative stuff, it's bad. Exactly the way the liberals and socialists have stolen the word capitalism and use it as a way to make the free markets look bad. Capitalism is yet only

18:20a piece of the free market system. That's why we have to point out even more. I'm going to go on and finish these little description here because I think there's some things in here about to tell you that really make a lot of sense. Capitalism is concerned with creating wealth and controlling production while a free market, I read this already, is concerned with efficient allocation of goods and services through decentralized decision making. Similarities both rely on voluntary exchange and competition as central principles. Both systems are influenced by supply and demand which regulate, I'm sorry, which guide production, both systems are influenced by supply and demand which guide production and pricing decisions. Capitalism

19:22incorporates free market principles, but a free market can exist in other economic conditions, including some forms of market socialism. In practical context, most modern economies are mixed economies combining elements of capitalism with varying degree of free market operation and government regulation. Examples of capitalism with regulated markets include welfare capitalism and state capitalism where private ownership exists but markets are partially controlled. Free market principles are often applied in sectors like technology and finance where minimal regulation shows rapid innovation and price competition. In summary,

20:22in essence, capitalism defines who owns and controls resources while a free market defines how goods and services are exchanged and priced. They are related but not synonymous. Capitalism can exist without a fully free market and free markets can exist in non-capitalist systems. Understanding both concepts helps clarify debates about economic policy, regulation and market efficiency. So just to recap, we believe in freedom and liberty and fiscal responsibility, less government. While that is a very libertarian-minded thought, it's very libertarian-minded in general, it kind of parallels the concepts of being a Republican and being a conservative. My point is we would bring more people together to defend the free markets and free enterprise,

21:29which in turn would wake up a lot of politicians from being able to think that they can control us all the time through policies that only promote capitalism, centralizing power. And then we would take the power of the liberals and socialists the way who are able to vilify capitalism, the form of capitalism which involves the free markets. We would take that power away from them because they would not be able to say, capitalism is bad. We be pointing out that free enterprise, the free market system, form of capitalism is good, but the minute you inject politicians, big industry and put them there to be able to create rules and regulations that control the free markets and squeeze the little guy out and squeeze the raw free market system out where

22:36capitalism benefits until we really point that out. We're not going to win that argument. They're going to continue to gain traction and gain followers who are struggling and says, those rich keep getting richer and prices keep going up because of capitalism because they're owning the message by just vilifying capitalism on its own. 23:40by the way. If you're listening to the podcast, I don't have a whole bunch of them. There's just a few of them that all make the point of what I'm saying about capitalism versus the free market system. Politicians tell you, this is about Thomas Massie. Politicians tell you corporate greed is the reason food prices are so high while they take campaign donations from those corporations and perpetuate laws that prevent small farms from competing with those corporations. Like I said, this is a great example. He doesn't mention capitalism, but he's about corporate greed, which again, the socialist and the leftists in this country, you say corporate greed is the problem. But what they're really referring to is capitalism. And this is what Thomas Massie is referring to when the government and the politicians and big industry get in and they're able to create rules and laws that squeeze out

24:44the little guy because the little guy, if we truly got government out of the business of capitalism, creating rules and laws to govern and control our free markets, we got them out of the business. Our free markets would reign supreme. Our free enterprise system would be paramount. It would be completely on overdrive. And the benefit would be that more little people would start businesses, more little people would prosper. The reason big industry doesn't want that to happen is because the more little guys that are in the market, the lower prices go. And look, when a little guy makes $100,000, poor, and it's a big difference on him and his family and in our communities. But when

25:48the big industry only makes $100,000, they go, whoa, we're going to put, I'm not giving them right amounts, but proportionally speaking, they go, we're going to put our $100,000, our next $100,000 into a lobbyist that's going to create a law that says those little dairy farmers produce in milk, oh, milk's about, you know, farm milk, whole milk, it's a bad thing. Let's show some studies. I know there's a lot of people out there that topics controversial. They believe in pasteurization or not. But the point is, in the free markets, the small guy wins. The consumer wins. Because when the consumer can say, you know, I'm going to buy my food from the small farmer. I'm going to buy my furniture from the small guy that's making it or some other product. Then they spend less money.

26:49And the small business owner makes more money proportionally to them. The big guys can't prosper. They can accumulate the wealth. And well, you get the idea. And why is government involved? Well, governments involved because they make money off of taxes and printing money. They make can't, they get campaign donations from all this big industry. Just like Thomas Massey said here, just a second ago in this infographic. And my next infographic, I thought was pretty interesting. It is a, let me see if I get a little bit bigger. It's got a guy holding a very long white piece of paper, which is a bill. He's holding some groceries. It's actually a public receipt from a, you know, we always joke about Walgreens having those really long receipts that you get or any of those companies that these really long receipts, you get a, you get like your receipt. And then you get a coupon that's like, you know, four feet long. Anyway, this guy in the in the cartoon

27:52picture is holding this really long receipt and a bag of groceries. And he's saying, why does everything cost more? And then you got a guy in a suit making the point with his finger. And he's got one hand on the government print, the government print, the government money printer. Sorry about that. And he's saying, it's got the suit saying must be corporate greed. Again, this is an example of capitalism and why it's why capitalism is bad in that one meeting. And it's hard to say capitalism is bad because we are whole life. You're raised capitalism. It's a great thing. Capitalism makes America great. We've been brainwashed away from realizing that it's really the

28:52free markets and the free enterprise system that makes America great. Capitalism is like the new. It's like this. It's interesting because it's almost like capitalism is just a few generations old will say, but the free markets and free enterprise are forever. We've used, you know, man has used a free market free enterprise system since you know, hunters gatherers everything. Since, you know, you got to trade one thing for the other. But when capitalism got bad, it's when big business and politicians were allowed to create, all create rules and laws to keep them both in power, both with a lot of money, centralized power and keep the little guy out. So of course, the politician like the one this picture is going to say must be corporate greed

29:54because politicians run on corporate greed is bad. Those corporate rich are getting richer. But yet even the Democrat socialist-minded politicians who are saying corporate greed must be bad are taking money from the corporations to continue policies that only make capitalism stronger than the free market system and the little guy loses, which socialist-minded people love it when the little guy loses because they become dependent on what government and more of it. This is why we need, and Dublin should point down on this, this is why we need to focus on educating people on the free market system and the free enterprise system and the benefits of why it's different than capitalism. So when some of my social-smart person says capitalism is bad, you could say you're right. Capitalism is bad, it's why I believe in

31:01choice. And of course the person on the level, wait a minute, you're a conservative-minded, Republican-minded, free market-guy, and you say you believe in choice and you say yes. I believe in choice. I believe in every American's right to choose their own prices, their own products without government intervention. Because when you support real free enterprise, you support more little guys, which is why I like supporting the farmer's markets. And I think it's a big deal because farmers markets are really as close as you can get to pure, raw, free enterprise. My next infographic says you can't fix the problems the federal government has created by giving the federal government more money and power, which is not only what capitalism does

32:06and what elected officials use to control the markets. And look, let's get nothing else here too. Politicians aren't just creating rules and laws to give themselves or give capitalist more power and more control. Politicians love taking notice from going with this. Politicians oftentimes create rules and laws for the purpose of control, controlling sectors of people, controlling sectors of the market, controlling certain things in our country. But politicians also create rules and laws to make themselves look good. And that's what it's all about. Because the more they make themselves look good, the more they stay elected in office. But we're going to talk in a minute about,

33:10yeah, go do this one and say I got a couple of things to read you all here. It's the next slide is before I read the next slide, I am going to read another thing I have here. Oh yeah, this is this meme goes along. This information goes along with the last meme that I had about the government printing machine and the guy that had the long list. So I looked up, I kind of did a little research and said, you know, sometimes asking what seems like a dumb question gives you a lot of information that you didn't realize that you were going to get. Sometimes you go, you know, sometimes people when I do an interview, they'll say, why'd you ask that stupid question? Well, sometimes a stupid question gets you a lot of new information. My stupid question that I went on, you know, the the Google or AI or whatever, I said, why are food prices so high? Easy question, right? I got some really good information to share with you. Then Marie T. Food prices and some of this is common sense, but sometimes we don't think beyond

34:17our own common sense. Sometimes we get, you know, we go, oh, it's like that, you know, the price of steel is high because Trump increased the tariffs or the price of food is high because, you know, oil prices are high. It's cost a more minded distribute it, but there's a lot more behind there that we don't think about or that we take for granted. Food prices are high due to a combination of inflation, supply chain disruptions, labor shortages, tariffs, extreme weather, and global interest and global conflicts affecting production and distribution. But let's remove the curtain a little bit here. All of those things that are the reasons why food prices are so high are all man-made disasters that are all controlled by man, except extreme weather. Yeah, that's even controlled by man too. Oh, wait, William, you're not supposed to say that

35:24you're on the right. You believe that you're supposed to say that the weather is caused by global, I mean, yes, true, very true. Our climate, I believe, is cyclical and the reason we have global warming and global cooling is just it's a natural thing caused by the universe and things are going on on our earth. But the narratives and the ideological beliefs behind extreme weather are man-made. So many people are made to believe that man's cause and all this extreme weather. Now, I'm going to sidestep a little bit because I have a pet peeve. Government messes with their environment a lot. Local governments cut down trees by the thousands and roadways or whatever.

36:27They've all their reasons for doing so I'm not going down that road right now. Our cities are built with all concrete that cut the trees down. We are going to feel the heat a little bit more in our city centers and our high density population areas than you are in the country, which in the city centers are where the masses are who are going to be able to believe more that we have this extreme weather caused by some universe when the reality is it's caused by politicians flooding issues. Here in Louisiana where I live, we allow elected officials to allow a lot of areas to be overbuilt that were once you know, bayous and and maughey bogs and and mostly water and man is allowed to build canals and drain it and then we wonder why we get homes flooded at big

37:31heavy storms after they cut all the trees down. That's all in our political process why that's been allowed yet it's easy for you to buy into that. Let me digress because I want to get back to my my my food prices are so high. Either way the extreme weather I want to cover that information in there says general inflation has reduced the purchasing power of money meaning the cost of groceries rise as even if wages remain stagnant from 2020 to 2026 food prices in the US have surged nearly 30% outpacing overall inflation with grocery prices increasing 2 to 3% annually in recent years alone rising production crust energy fuel fertilizer have further pushed prices upward supply chain and labor challenges disruption in supply change caused by covid pandemic ongoing global global conflicts

38:33and logistical bottlenecks have made transporting food more expensive and less predictable. Government and man people in government man made tariffs and trade policies tariffs on imported goods such as coffee's banana coffee bananas and certain produce have increased costs for US consumers man made i.e. capitalism whether in environmental factors I went over that a second ago disease and agricultural shocks outbreaks such as avian influenza have intermittently spiked egg prices while other livestock diseases have affected meat supply again while the that's natural it gives an open door for politicians to have a reason to get involved in this system creating rules and laws to help protect our food supplies and then they created up rules and laws with the I guess with the

39:37information from big industry and then the little guy gets cut out somewhere in the process because all these little rules and laws it's snuck in to where like well if you're not using I'm using meat for example it goes to all products you know rules and laws you say that the little guy can't you know can't slaughter their own cow because of certain standard quality standards but yet there's only four meat producers in america that get to get all the business and they use things like this and of course there's a lot of people well we need product safety you're right we do but what we don't need is government making rules and laws that benefits people who benefit from capitalism instead of funny ways to empower the free markets because even if the little guy was slaughtering their own animals or you know processing their own meat and their

40:39processing was substandard you get the lash back from the little guy if they had a bad product uh the other reason for food prices being so high corporate practices and market dynamics market consolidation and profit driven pricing strategies by major grocery chains have also did you hear this market consideration and profit driven pricing strategies by major grocery chains have also contributed to higher prices some retailers have raised prices above inflation rates to boost profit capitalism and mergers and the grocery sector this is why we have to take control of the definitions and the and the narratives we have to start talking free markets and free enterprise and saying capitalism is what makes america great we have to say free markets

41:46would protect our way of life free markets would empower the little guy better it would give open more doors to the little guy to open more businesses global conflicts and energy energy prep cost are another reason for high food prices geopolitical tensions manmade such as conflicts in middle east manmade and do i think that they did something in the middle east or have these global geopolitical problems for the purpose of empowering capitalism no but i think that the problems overseas are a product or the byproduct is that capitalism gets used on a bigger scale or the manipulation of capitalism gets used by politicians easier conclusion this article the high cost of food is the result of interconnected factors in inflation labor supply chains i'm not

44:54to create rules and laws to help a group of people but the reality is it may help them a little bit in the beginning but it never helps them forever because once you create a program and get people on it you can't get them off it's harder to get them off because you addict them to government and at a time when food prices are going up and the the method of capitalism that is bad government intervention it's at work on the other side of the balance sheet and making prices go up or having more controls in our free markets because if the thing capitalism can't survive without the free markets but capitalism can't survive so capitalism cannot survive without politics free markets can

46:01and capitalism in some ways needs the free markets but free markets does it need capitalism because free markets is the original foundation of what makes free enterprise work but capitalism needs politicians politicians need people that believe in those policies so they intertwine capitalism with government dependency through policies or legislation that brings as many people to government dependencies as it can so I looked up something on this I ask a stupid question get a lot of information this one is an article by Patrick Tyrell

48:05of people including the poor renewable fuel standard the energy policy act of 2005 mandated that renewable fuels be mixed into America's gasoline supply primarily by using corn based ethanol then the 2007 energy independence and securities acts significantly increase the amount that must be mixed in this mandate is known as the renewable fuel standard it forces the high forces the use of higher levels of biofuels then the market would otherwise bear the result has been higher food and fuel prices who wins corn farmers soybean farmers and biofuel companies who loses consumers of gasoline consumers of food and farmers that rely on feedstock and restaurants and number two federal sugar program the federal government tries to limit the supply of sugar

49:15that is sold in the United States the federal sugar program uses a combination of price supports marketing allotments that limit how much sugar processors can sell each year and the important restrictions that reduce the amount of reports as a result the price of American sugar is consistently higher than the world prices think about how that affects food prices after sugar prices because nowadays they put so much sugar in our food to addict Americans to that processed food ships another things which makes us not only poor it makes us less healthy and all of the medical problems go up who benefits from that big business who wins sugar growers and sugar harvesters who loses workers in sugar using industries and consumers of food including bread that

50:18contain sugar because the prices go higher catfish inspection program which is kind of really odd who would think that catfish inspection program is one of the eight reasons that government policies hurt the poor but I guess they're saying poor people eat more catfish that's what's three let's see as a result of the US Department of Agricultural's catfish inspection program the USDA inspects catfish while the food and drug administration it inspects all other seafood that's interesting this creates duplication because seafood processing facilities that produce both catfish and any other seafood will have to deal with two different types of seafood regulatory schemes instead of just one this program also creates a non-tariff trade barrier that will make it extremely difficult for foreign catfish exporters to export to the US likely reducing competition

51:22for the domestic catfish industry who wins domestic catfish producers who loses domestic catfish consumers the merchant marine act of 1920 also known as the Jones act the merchant marine act nicknamed after senator Wesley John Walsh requires the use of domestically built ships when transporting goods between US ports the ships must also be US owned and mostly US crude who wins the US domestic shipping industry who loses the US military automobile drivers users of propane and heating oil and anyone benefiting from the trade and transportation of goods between US ports I want to point out something these winners and losers some of this is the power and while I was reading this which is what I wanted to share with you because it really points out a lot of the other markets in our economy and how they affect like we talk about the propane industry and things

52:26like that and how it affects other markets I thought it was an extremely industry this is a big one that affects poor people or how government policies affect poor people this is huge Louisiana is trying to change it a whole lot right now which is number five on this list occupational licensure which not only Louisiana but across the country they're trying to get eliminate a lot of it a lot of state legislators legislators legislatures are trying to eliminate excessive occupations your occupational licensure licensure laws create government requirements for being allowed to participate or practice a profession these requirements exist even though the market would produce certification options if consumers desired such information before giving the winners the losers I want to point out this aligns with capitalism remember capitalism puts the big players together

53:31who create the rules and laws together and do lobbyists by squashing the little guys who benefit from a free market free enterprise system occupational licensures licensing is usually done in some in a lot of states by a lot of licensing groups like the you know the hair cutting industry or the nail salon industry or the plumbing unions or whatever not unions but the plumbing industry they make everybody get licenses which I I get it you know plumbers electricians doctors lawyers you know some of the big things should have licensing requirements but a care cutting braiding hair little small things that a lot of big industry or big groups get together politicians and say hey everybody should have a license for this thing those little guys that could

54:39do better for themselves be more prosperous provide better for their families if they were allowed to create businesses without having all this burdensome licensing requirements they would have and our economy would be better too because we have lower prices on a lot of things i.e. the capitalism that's making the big guys and big groups get richer who wins with occupational licensure workers who have already obtained licenses and as I said big businesses and big industry who loses people wanting to work who can't because they don't have a license and consumers who have to pay higher prices for services numbers six reason why why was to that big government hurts the little guy or hurts people is economic development takings i.e.

55:42eminent domain which in the last Louisiana legislative session our governor and the legislature has now allowed eminent domain to be used by big business but number six economic development takings on June 23rd 2005 the US Supreme Court held in Keelow versus city of New London that the government can seize private property and transfer it to another private party for economic development this type of taking was deemed to be for public use and ruled a proper use of the government's eminent domain power under the Fifth Amendment bullshit and the United States of Constitution oh that's say that out loud i did because everybody says the takings clause in the Fifth Amendment is what created eminent domain founding fathers never said the words eminent domain or the taking of private property it says that that you have the right to

56:45not incriminate yourself so that the government cannot take any of your property or wealth and i say and others to say too that that should only pertain to if you're incriminating yourself not just if you're everyday citizen going about your life working and living free and building a business supporting your providing for your family all of a sudden the government says hey you know that two acres that you got right here on the edge of town we're building a shopping center we're going to take it we're going to give it to Joe Blow Development Company because they're going to build a shopping center right here because we need a taxes because uh you know we want to give you clean water right when you give your roads bridges all that other stuff and the last three public officials who retired you know we got unfunded liabilities there we got to pay that so we need more taxes so we're taking your property i know i said that pretty fast but who wins in the

57:48economic development takings of imminent domain people who successfully lobby the government to seize other people's property for financial gain i.e another downside of raw capitalism but only as it pertains to government officials being involved which is the deficit capitalism that's the difference between capitalism and free markets politicians and government being able to create the laws to govern and and and manage our money for us through pressure rules laws and all that other good stuff and taxes by the way who loses in imminent domain property owners who have their property seized seven home sharing regulations local governments sometimes ban or excessively regulate home sharing that is renting out one's home to accommodate travelers such as through

58:53Airbnb when this happens consumers have less choice of where to stay when traveling hotels can charge higher prices and homeowners and renters can't make full use of their legally possessed homes to earn income for themselves who wins hotel and poise union lobbies and the hotel industry big business big industry see wait and who loses homeowners and renters so when i talked about capitalism in the bad for bad sense of it that you know politicians create rules and laws i feel that i was inferring more federal government and i guess i was kind of didn't define that but this opportunity comes up let me explain that just like we have capitalism with the being used in our federal system who excuse me um just like we have on a federal level politicians and big business

59:59getting together to form rules and laws that make that make the difference or make um that fuel capitalism will say to their benefit we have the same thing happen on state levels governors state legislatures such state reps other things are working with big industry to create rules and laws together or through lobbyist which suppress the economic benefits of free markets and free enterprise in a state so it happens on local levels state levels and federal levels too but um oh here's the last one number eight ride sharing regulations in some state local jurisdictions such as outside portland other areas the government bans or heavily regulates the ride sharing companies like uber and lift these companies are popping up all over because they meet consumers needs but they are being held down in certain cities where the government

1:01:01backs the establishment industry who wins traditional taxicab companies who lose as uber lift and drivers looking for low barriers to entry taxicab customers you know the routine there on who is going to lose um who um eight big government policies that hurt the poor on that so that was um what i read what i found when i talked about who government policies hurt the most and that's what i got with that in my next infographic uh and i really only have this is the last one by the way if you're listening the more and i have a one more article to read on this and some explanation to go along with it it leads me to this the more you depend on government the easier you are to control so in this process where capitalism emerges from the free markets

1:02:04because capitalism emerges from the free markets where capitalism starts learning or where people start to you learning how to use capital or big industry and politicians use capitalism or use rules and laws and policies to control the markets they wipe out a lot of people in the middle income brackets and lower they wipe them out financially i'll say because prices go up more market controls go into place they have less choices they they are held down by inflation and and they are also held back because in a lot of these situations as explained especially in the way of occupational licensing they can't start their own business there's too many rules and laws put in place that protects big industry but makes

1:03:09a harder for the little guy to use that free enterprise system and then those nice old politicians come along and they say but we got this government program that's gonna help you we have to come out with these rules and laws i helped this this industry but we're gonna come out with a little little little another little package over here to help you out and then they become depend on the government and easier to control and i will read this up which i think you're to find very interesting on my walk out here to short article which party because i looked up which political party remember i said what hurts what policies hurt poor people hurt people the most that gave you the other one right after that i went well okay well which party is helping the poor more we hear about this so which what political party helped the poor more in the us you're gonna like

1:04:11this historically the democratic party has been the primary architect of the us social security net scam my opinion and has consistently championed federal anti-hoverty programs democrats have led the creation of expansion of entitlements like social security medicare and medicate and have pushed for targeted federal interventions such as the earned income tax credit affordable housing initiatives and higher income higher minimum wage higher higher minimum wages scoppers and policy analysts link these policies to measurable poverty reduction especially during democratic led administrations give my opinion a second republican policies by contrast tend to emphasize work centered solutions tax cuts and evolving anti-poverty programs to states while this approach

1:05:14aims to stimulate economic growth critics argue that republican budgets have at times cut or constrained federal safety net spending which can slow poverty reduction i know you're already thinking it well you know how can you be a republican minded libertarian minded conservative minded person knowing that the democrats i'm gonna get you that opinion here in just a second common ground exist across party lines both democrats and republicans agreed that economic growth and job training are important tools to help the poor many americans including a majority republicans believe the government should invest in education and job training for low income people however democrats are more likely the republicans to support expanding federal welfare programs of control of controls not in the article i'm adding that even if it means higher

1:06:17taxes the takeaway is if the focus is on federal programs and direct safety net expansion democrats have historically been the party most active in helping the poor republicans while not oppressed to helping the poor often prioritize market-based solutions and state level programs both parties share some policy goals but democrats have a stronger track record of building and expanding federal anti-poverty structure while this article tries to give both sides you got to read between the lines on this one if there's a party that is constantly creating more programs and we know that those programs get people addicted on government money those people are going to be less free they're going to have less opportunity

1:07:18not because you want to have less opportunity there's a program there to help them putting people on programs takes away their opportunity their chance for other opportunity because the program says you make more money or you make too much money he kicked off the program if you start to do better which is common sense but most people seek security safety instead of the instead of wanting to go out and do a little bit more it doesn't make them bad doesn't make them that doesn't mainly they make fun or ridicule people like that and not at all but if those same people were to follow the path that the republican party or republican minded people have done where they where they create more jobs programs more things that help

1:08:23keep them off of welfare and doing for themselves those same people would live freer lives would do better financially because almost a hundred percent of the time having a job and having a career not only leads to being freer but it leads more to more fiscal prosperity than being stuck in the same place or being held back and controlled while the same democrats jump into making policies with big industry big businesses businesses which makes capitalism stronger which cuts out a lot of opportunity for other people this my friends is why we have to start using the free market system and free enterprise as our guide to how to truly make people prosperous and more free in america
