For the NHL, it's March 15th, and here's what's going on. Carolina Hurricanes fans have plenty to cheer about as their team leads the Eastern Conference standings heading into the final stretch of the 20. 25-26 season. General manager Eric Tulski bolstered the roster before the trade deadline with Gritty Winger, Nicholas Desloreyes, from the Philadelphia Flyers and Defenseman Jusso Valimaki from the Utah mammoth. Frederick Anderson has been rock solid in goal since returning from the winter Olympic break, especially with Piotr Kochekkov sidelined for the year, after hip surgery. Anderson's strong play helps secure a recent 4-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on their mom's trip. The defense has taken a hit with Shane Ghost's bear here-out due to a lower body injury from a game against the Emmington Oilers earlier this month. Mike Riley and Rookie Joe Nistrum have stepped up nicely to cover the gap. March and Kowski has been on fire with a multi-game goal streak, providing key depth scoring since joining last season.

Meanwhile, young forward Logan Stankovan is shaking off a mid-season slump as Koches push him to her playoff form. The canes face a tough week ahead, starting with a road game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, March 17th at 7 p.m. Eastern. They follow with Pittsburgh at home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Toronto on the road Friday at 7 and a Sunday afternoon rematch in Pittsburgh at 3 p.m. This D&N story is thanks to our sponsor details in the description.
