Raleigh Fire crews responded to a house fire late Wednesday night, after candles on the front porch, ignited flames at a home on center road. Two residents were displaced, but no one was hurt in the blaze. Officials got the call around 9.50pm to the 1700 block of the street. Crews quickly knocked down the fire, but had to deal with some complications on scene. The homeowner managed to rescue three parakeets, a cockatill, and some fish from inside before evacuating. The two displaced folks are now staying with family and friends. Power lines in the area got tangled up during the response, forcing crews to shut off electricity nearby. It's still not clear what brought those lines down. Fire investigators are looking into the full details, but quick action kept things from getting worse for everyone involved. That's the story for today. Durham News Today, Driven by AI. I'm Corey with The Story.
