It's March 25th, I'm Cory with the story, and this is Calgary Flames News today, AI, Powered Updates on Your Squad. The Calgary Flames are hosting their third annual South Asian celebration game this Saturday, March 28th, against the Vancouver Connux at Toe, the Scotiabank Saddle Dome. Puck Drop is at 8 p.m. mountain time, with the game airing nationally on Hockey Night in Canada and the Punjabi broadcast. Seven-year-old Tellus Gator Keaton-Brar will lead the flames onto the ice. Fans can expect plenty of cultural flair throughout the night. Calgary's DJ Joe S. Charles handles pre-game and warm-up music. As you enter, catch live performances from the Nakadapunjabangara Academy, static Bollywood dance, and Calgary's finest dolies on the main. Concourse, plus a photo station behind Section 228. Intermissions bring more excitement, including a South Asian Minor Hockey shootout in the first and traditional Bongra dances in the second. Static Bollywood dance performs during a TV time out too.
Leading up to the game, alumni in the Flames Foundation team up with community hero, Dampi Brar, for a South Asian Ball Hockey event, Friday at the Vision Sports Center. Retail fans will love the special logo gear available at CGY team stores, including limited items from a partnership with AP&A Hockey. Earlier this week on Wednesday, March 25th, the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation hosted a South Asian business summit with Keynotes from CSEC CEO Robert Hayes and others, focusing on innovation and community growth. These events highlight the Flames commitment to celebrating South Asian culture while building stronger ties in Calgary.
