The Calgary Flames made two key roster moves before heading out on a five-game road trip to the east. They called up forward Madvee Gredin and defenseman Hunter Bresestawitch from their American hockey league affiliate, the Calgary Wranglers. Gredin had been sent down briefly on Trade Deadline Day to meet a new league rule on player eligibility. He played one game in the minors on Saturday night, which cleared the way for his plan return to the NHL lineup. These young players bring solid experience from their pro-day views. Gredin, a first-round pick in the 2024 draft, has three goals and seven points in 18 NHL games, plus 10 goals in 29. Points in 37 AHL outings, he even represented the Wranglers at the 2026 All-Star Classic. Meanwhile, Bresestawitch steps in due to injuries on defense. With Joel Hanley out sick and Zach Wyclow day-to-day after a tough hit, the Flames needed a

right-shot blue liner. The third-round pick from 2023, acquired in the Elias Lindholm deal, has one goal in 18 NHL games, and four goals with 14. Points in 34 AHL contests. The Flames kick off their road trip Monday night against the Washington capitals, hoping these call-ups provide a boost. The Daily News Now is powered by our sponsor.
