Now I want to read for you a statement that was made on a podcast by Chris Hayes. He's the host on MSNBC who looks like Rachel Maddow but isn't Rachel Maddow. She is in fact a guy. Here is what he said on this podcast regarding our very governor, Gavin Newsom. I think Newsom has a Hillary Clinton problem, which is that Hillary Clinton was perceived

2:06outside the Democratic Party and the Democratic Coalition as the, quote, ultimate lib, like the Libya's lib whoever lived and was never actually like that much of a lib. Just like the worst uncanny valley for a Democratic politician to be in, where the base doesn't trust you because you don't have that kind of organic relationship with the left parts of the party and then the swing voter just thinks like, oh, that's a lip, end quote. Well I do think that Gavin Newsom and Hillary Clinton do have one important thing in common, the lack of authenticity. And I think that's what killed Hillary's campaign. And if Newsom is stupid enough to run for president, I think it will kill his campaign as well. You mentioned just a moment ago before I came on that you didn't think that Newsom would give up the gas tax to lower gasoline prices, well, you know, asking the Democrat to give up any tax is like asking Dracula to swear all blood.

3:10That just didn't gonna happen. Well, your point on authenticity, I think is the nail on the head because whenever a politician, Rick Caruso had this problem when he ran from Los Angeles, he is a hard charging Republican businessman who can build things and get things done. And then someone convinced him that to get elected, he had to get rid of his party registration, become a Democrat and try to convince them that he was one of them. And I don't know of anyone, Republican or Democrat who believed that Rick Caruso was a legit Democrat. They all knew what he was doing. And that in authenticity, I think cost him the mayoral election the last time around. That's one thing that voters can do. Voters may not read the newspaper front to back every day. They may not understand the issues in depth, but they can sniff out someone who's not authentically themselves. And I think that that's Gavin Newsom's biggest problem. Well, you look back at Ronald Reagan and a lot of Democrats who wound up voting for Reagan,

4:12not only as California governor, but when he ran in one of both presidential elections in 80 and 84, they said a lot of them in polling that they might not have agreed with all of his policies, but they believed that he was authentic, that he really believed them. And I think that's what's lacking in so many of today's politicians, including a lot of Republicans, frankly. They take polls, they go to focus groups, they determine what words are the trigger words that will energize people to vote for them. But once they get an office, they're totally different. I look with John Corning just did. For years, he was against doing away with a filibuster, a Republican senator from Texas who's running for reelection. Now he's flipped on that because he wants Trump's endorsement. So this is not necessarily a one party or other thing. This is why I think we need a convention of states. We're not going to get term limits because the people who would vote for the term limits are be voting for themselves.

5:12But I think a convention of states to balance the budget, to limit the members of Congress from no more than two terms in the Senate and maybe three or four in the House is the only way we can take back the power again. Well, to that point, and you mentioned that currently we have a lot of older people in Congress, a lot of people who have been there a long time, certainly when Joe Biden ran for reelection in Dianne Feinstein, Dianne Office, those two people put that issue to the forefront more than arguably anyone else. But part of the reason I think why we don't have term limits is because when the politics of the electorate changes, it's not always a good thing to have the electives change right along with them. I mean, take, for example, the issue of Israel where on the Democratic Party, New Deal Democrats were stunt supporters of Israel. You go back and you listen to what the old timers used to say about that. That was an important plank and they were an important part of the coalition of FDR's New Deal coalition that the Democrats, I guess, to a certain extent still rely on to this

6:16day. But those politicians are aging out and the new crop of Democratic politicians are overtly hostile, in many cases, to the state of Israel. I mean, take Gavin Newsom, for example, who just came out and called them an apartheid state, something that Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro came out this weekend and said that that was over the line. What do you make of where the Democratic Party is going right now? And I guess to a certain extent, not so much with the electives, but with the online crowd on the right, where you have a lot of people who are right now turning against Israel. Yeah. Well, let's begin where we ought to begin. I can't tell you where the Democrat Party is headed because they can't tell where the Democrat Party is headed. They don't know. If you ask them for policies, what are they, what are they for? What are they against? Well, they're against ICE. They don't mind long lines and airports around the country. They don't mind putting the country in jeopardy because the secret service and other people

7:19who are supposed to defend us are now leaving work and trying to find other jobs so they can pay their rent, they can make payments on their cars, they can put food on the table. I mean, these are just shameless. Now with respect to Israel, what you're seeing, I think, is the product of a lot of our universities who have professors that are anti-Semitic. We've seen that at Columbia. We've seen it at some of the California universities. They teach young people. And this feeds the anti-Semitism that has unfortunately been riding underneath in this country and in Europe still for many, many years. It's given them permission to say these things. Israel's not in a part-time nation. Israel is the target of those nations around her and in other places in Europe too that want to eliminate her. And I think it's a new form of sophisticated anti-Semitism that they were afraid to speak before, but now it's out in the open. And to be clear, it's okay to criticize the government of bidding nation on planet earth

8:22and you can do that without being a big id or someone who has a hostility towards certain groups. But when you look at the definition of what Newsom said, he called it a apartheid state. That's not a criticism of Netanyahu. That's a criticism of the state of Israel. When you think about what apartheid government is, that's when you have essentially an occupying force move in to take something that doesn't belong to them, to exploit the land, to exploit the people, to discriminate based on race and religion, to their own personal financial benefit. That's what he's saying about Israel. If that's not an anti-Semitic statement, I don't know what it is. Well, you also just described Iran. Iran took over. The Ayatollahs took over in 1979, thanks to Jimmy Carter, who overthrew the Shah. They went in. They imposed a twisted religion and a twisted political life that put women in certain costumes and denied men certain rights. Israel is the only democracy in the region.

9:27Israel was created in the modern state after the Holocaust so that the Jewish people would have a homeland to which they could flee if they were ever targeted again. I would say that it was their ancient homeland and they have a right to be there. Israel under Ben-Gurion tried to make a deal with the so-called Palestinians, Arab nations around them, to give them about half of the land there. They rejected it because they wanted all of the land. From then, Yasser Arafat and all of the other people who have been regarded as terrorists and our terrorists, or were terrorists, their goal, if you read the Palestinian covenant and a lot of these others with a complete eradication of Israel and the Jewish people. They said so. They say so openly, a little more sophisticated now, but that's what their ultimate goal is. The Muslim Brotherhood, care, all of these other Muslim groups are completely anti-Semitic and anti-Israel. And Newsom is totally wrong on this.

10:28I'm not sure he could spell apartheid much less to find it. We're speaking with Cal Thomas, so you can follow on ex at Cal Thomas. In Cal since you brought up John Kornin in Texas, let's talk about that Senate race. Because he is a guy who is essentially a Bush Republican. He's been in Texas politics for a very long time before the state moved to the right, and the state is now a Trump state, a state that voted for Donald Trump in three consecutive elections. He has an opponent who has tried to brand himself as the MAGA candidate in the race. He's got a lot of personal problems, whether it comes to his marriage or corruption. People I know in the state of Texas tell me that the guy is about as corrupt as it gets. So certainly that is one line you don't want to cross. However, on the Democratic side of the aisle, they nominated a guy who's not when he would regard as a blue dog Democrat by any stretch of the imagination. He is essentially a woke Jimmy Swaggerd who has said some truly nutty things, including

11:31that there's six different genders that prison is violence. We need a welcome mad at the Southern border. There should be abortions at the post office. I mean, you name it, the guy is said it, and not just in tweets, but in videos where you can play the audio or you can see him saying it in real time. What do you make of that massive Senate race? Well, well, Tolerico is, he's described by most of the media as a seminarian and a Christian. Well, I did the first column on this. There have been three others since, including the Wall Street Journal, that have pointed out some of the things you just mentioned. He also says God is binary. And one of my favorites, or I could be my favorite, he said that the Virgin Mary had a choice. She didn't have to accept what the angel said about the Holy Spirit impregnating her with Jesus, she had a choice, and therefore that legitimizes abortion. Even a secularist knows the difference on these things.

12:33And you just shake your head that they get away with it, but the media never called them out. I'm glad to see that some of my colleagues are now calling them out. Texas is a basically still, as you mentioned, conservative state, has a lot of baptists there. I don't think he's going to win, but this just shows what the condition of our theology is these days in America where you can get away with some people of saying that kind of thing. What do you think is going to happen on the Republican side because that's not resolved yet? Well, I think the Republicans are in a better shape than the Democrats, and if this war turns out to be a victory, and Trump just said another one of those little meetings in the Oval Office where Peter Ducey asked him, how soon do you think this is going to be wrapped up this week? He said, well, no, but I think very soon, and we're going to, you know, you're going to be very happy. The oil prices are going to go back down. The stock market is going to go back up. And if that happens, which seems more likely than maybe a did a few weeks ago, if that

13:39happens, then I think the Democrats are just going to be totally without any issues at all because they've been completely against this war. They have been on record opposing it. Nobody's asked them really, nobody in the media. Well, okay. Let's say the war didn't start, and would you have been okay with Iran getting nuclear weapons and threatening not only Israel, but at least the East Coast of the United States? Nobody asked them that question. You got Rohana out there who thinks that the whole war was illegitimate, and I think I saw he was asked the very question that I just posed, which would be okay with a nuclear weapon in Iran. And I believe he said, well, it would only be used in that region. Please, excuse me, it wouldn't just be used in that region. They've already said they want to come out to the great Satan, that's us. Jill Biden has a book that's going to come out before the midterm elections, where she is expected to settle any number of scores.

14:39The first score at the top of the list has to be with the former speaker, the House, your former neighbor, Nancy Pelosi. Jill Biden at some point is going to have his own book out. I would imagine that he's going to tell many of the same stories as Dr. Jill. What do you make of those books coming out before the election and relitigating those old wars? Yeah, well, I noticed that Dr. Jill is not going to have doctors part of her title on the book. That's kind of an interesting concession. So, Golly, who knew? I mean, you were supposed to, I thought that was their first name for a long time. You know, like some people had three names, Dr. Jill Biden, Dr. was the first name. I think in some score settling, the media are going to treat it as, if not gospel, then at least, I think, actually, I think they've probably got to ignore it. The reviews are going to be bad. I'm sure somebody's writing it for Jill, somebody's writing it for Jill. And I don't think it's going to have any effect whatsoever.

15:39I think they're just going to be trying to explain themselves. And when you get to the point of explaining yourself in politics, you've lost the argument. Last night was the Oscars. Used to be a big night in America. People would watch it, not quite like the Super Bowl, but a lot of people, millions of people would gather around televisions to watch it. They did exactly what you would expect to do. They started out by thinking whatever Indian tribe it was that once occupied the space of the theater where they were hosting the event. Jimmy Kimmel was out there to take shots at Republicans. They took shots at CBS for hiring Barry Weiss and all of those sorts of things. It's so crazy to me that this crowd doesn't understand that they've lost the country. It's wild to me that they don't connect the dots of a drop in ticket sales and then hosting events where they do things like what they did last night and alienating half

16:39of the country. I think due to technology and other things, their sales would be down anyway. But for them to just keep their foot on the gas pedal, boy, are they tone deaf? Well, that's why they're moving to YouTube at a couple of years. The ratings are down. People are watching, as you said, it's become so predictable. My favorite part of last night was a kind of mini cat fight between Barbara Streisand and Jane Fonda. Jane brought it up on the Robert Redford tribute reel. Jane said that she'd done more movies with Robert Redford than Barbara Streisand did. She'd only done one and I think Jane had done three or four. So it was kind of a tongue-in-cheek thing. The implication was that I should have been I being Jane should have done the tribute not Barbara Streisand. Well, maybe Jane could sing as well as Barbara Streisand, maybe so, but otherwise. And I thought, for me, the best dress was Anne Hathaway. I've always liked her. She had a beautiful dress on, great earrings. And that's about all that I watched.

17:40I flipped over. No, you mentioned about the quality of movies. I've got Turner movie classics and the AMC movies. These old movies that are on there running a bunch of them, the 30s and 40s now, black and white on Turner classic movies. There's no foul language. There's no nudity. The scripts were a whole lot better. Some of them are really funny. And I stopped going to movies years ago and I'm just careful on what I tune in or live streaming or on some of these channels because everyone, my wife and I have a bet on how much time will pass before the first use of the F word. And I counted one that was about a dozen in the first ten minutes of the film recently. I just can't watch it. That's not creative writing. Not the old Hollywood. You know, anybody can curse. Anybody can blow up a car. Anybody can shoot somebody but give me a good storyline that holds my attention. Very sad. Be real careful when you're taking money out of the ATM or going to make a big withdrawal because sometimes people like to follow you home, and then they take your money. For more, here's Fox 5 in San Diego. A strong warning from a North County family after a loved one was followed home from a bank. The thieves ended up stealing thousands of dollars from the victim. It's a crime, Sheriff's Investigators called bank juggling. Tony Shen is live in fallbrook with surveillance video of the suspects caught in that act.

21:52Tony. Yeah, you know, Christina, in this case, the victim had just left this bank that you see behind me. He had no idea someone was watching him, and no idea thieves were following him home. Gotta be real careful when you're taking out cash these days. I wonder if this is a big problem in Las Vegas because people go to Las Vegas, and if you want to play the tables, you're going to need cash, and you're going to need a lot of it because now the table minimums are so high. So people go to the ATM, they go to the teller at the bank, whatever bank they do business with, they probably have a branch in Southern Nevada. You take out your money and you go straight to the casino. I wonder if this is a major problem there. He doesn't have any kind of suspicion that anything's going on. One and his sister, Carol, are closely reviewing the surveillance video from their parents, fallbrook home. It shows their father, Rodolfo, coming home on February 25th after a trip to the nearby

22:54Chase bank where he just withdrew $3,500 in cash. So he could buy his brother's car. He's walking out with his white envelope from the bank and he's getting it into his stuffed bag that he has, not realizing that, you know, the white Jeep Cherokee was following him all the way home. Carol is talking about this white Jeep Cherokee. You know what's so odd about this story, Randy? What's that? He got robbed before he could buy the Kia, which then would get stolen. There is that. Carol is talking about this white Jeep Cherokee. In the video, you can see it slowly passed by Rodolfo's home. He doesn't notice it as he gets out of his truck to go inside and eat lunch. Meantime, that white Cherokee continues to go back and forth outside. They literally are just driving like a fish in the tank, you know, just waiting for their time to hit. That's where the Cherokee backs into Rodolfo's parking spot and someone wearing a hoodie

23:58quickly jumps out of the back seat. The thief opens up the passenger door of Rodolfo's truck and grabs the double bag with the $3,500 in cash. Oh, no. No car for Rodolfo. The Cherokee then drives off. He had a lot of important documents in there. He had spare. Boy, if only the person selling that car would have taken a check. Yeah, what kind of credit does Rodolfo have where your brother won't take a check from you? Then drives off. He had a lot of important documents in there. He had spare keys for work. He had his work phone in there. Checkbooks. Sheriff's investigators call this type of crime bank jugging. That's when thieves sit outside banks watching for customers who are leaving with deposit bags or envelopes that could be filled with a lot of cash. They then see everything connected with cash is a liability these days. My Chase branch has a bunch of those dumb, dumb lollipops.

25:03So if anyone ever sees me leaving a bank, just so you know, the only thing that I have in my possession is about seven or eight stolen lollipops. They then secretly follow the customer until they get an opportunity to take that bag of money. This really hurts the family, doesn't it? It does. It sure does. I want another family to experience this type of financial loss, which is why she wants the public to see what happened to her father and to be aware of their surroundings, especially when walking out of a bank with a lot of cash. Even for a little cash, I only go to the bank when I need cash because I know I'm going to have to pay for parking somewhere and they won't let me do it through Venmo. But even when I'm taking 40 bucks out, I'm freaking out. Well, I could say this at least this didn't happen in December. So Redolfo, the red nose reindeer, wouldn't come home with no gifts under the tree with

26:03a lot of cash. Be so cautious and be mindful of your surroundings, make sure you take them any and it goes right away to where it needs to go. Carol says right now, shares investigators are still trying to find more surveillance video to hopefully identify those suspects. 27:07For more on this, we got a crime for tonight. We are getting a first look at a brazen smash and grab robbery in Fremont. Once our top story on Cronford News at 9 streaming on Cronford Plus, I'm Dan Thorn. The video just released by the Department of Justice shows a mob of thieves crashing into a jewelry store and stealing lots of expensive jewelry. Cronford's Jack Moment has our top story tonight. This shocking robbery may have happened last year, but it's only now that we're getting into the complete picture into what happened here in Fremont, including a group of businesses here on this strip banding together to make sure that they're not the next target. The dramatic video shows the moments a car filled with robbers, smashes into a Fremont jewelry store, the masks, thieves, Russian, and raid the shop. As the store owners run for cover, I don't know when it happened, but robbers elevated from sledgehammers to just using the car as a battering ram. And I think it's because it's so easy to steal a car in California. They're practically worthless.

28:09And you know what's going to happen now that all the jewelry stores are being hit in California. We're going to be left with no wedding ring left to buy, which means all of us are going to end up living in sin. Dramatic video shows the moments a car filled with robbers, smashes into a Fremont jewelry store, the masks, thieves, Russian, and raid the shop. As the store owners run for cover, this nation grab robbery happened at Kumar Jewelers at the Mallory East Shopping Center last June. The store's owner did not want to go on camera, but told us they've been trying hard to keep their business open since the brace and robbery across the way at niche business. I mean, and remember, part of the reason it's so difficult, especially as a jeweler after you get robbed is most jewelers do not have insurance. I would like to do this topic sometime when it's a slow news day. I think it's just not jewelers. I think there are tons of small businesses in California that have no insurance because it's either super expensive or not even available to them across the way at niche business

29:15cafe. Ivan and his caddy says the entire ship of businesses has felt the ripple effects of this crime. Like, after I got these things, the metal bars up, are installed and out like, I feel a little bit more safe. And while four of them boy, nothing is as inviting as a jewelry store that's got black metal bars on it. Yeah, that's what I keep moving. I feel a little bit more safe. And while four of them were than dozen thieves were arrested last year, the threat of robberies and burglaries has not gone away. A lot of shops in this shopping center got broken in. The pizza shop they got broken in twice, the jewelry shop got broken in and a lot of the places got broken in. Niche business cafe has also fallen victim to smashing graphs. They stole the credit card machine and they hacked into the bank account. The trauma is tremendous. So when we get to traumatize that that that healing from that like the like the you probably look at every single customer, Shifty I'd for months and months and months. Yeah, that's not going to be good for sales violation that my privacy being violated that

30:19is that is that is quite a lot business is along the shopping center, haven't stopped gates and ballards to curb future break ins many saying the security patrols have made them feel safer, but they still notice people hanging around the area late at night. You can see the police patrolling, but also I think it will be good to have programs for the people who are very unfortunate so that way what she buys into it too. You see, this is the problem. I can tell you right now she votes the wrong way. None of this is going to change until you start voting differently. So in order to prevent the burglars from crashing into your business with a car, we need some after school programs. Okay, I'm less sympathetic that I was two minutes ago, but also I think it will be good to have programs for the people who are very unfortunate so that they can be involved

31:19and the cry, you know, it's it's worth pointing out when people make this insane argument California has the most people in poverty in the entire country and the vast, vast, vast majority of those poor people do not steal no, no, but she's been brainwashed. So even as the victim of the crime, she has to bend the knee to the criminal. The crime rate can go down and then it's good for everybody, community and the businesses. We reached out to the Fremont Police Department to talk about the general safety in this shopping center, some of the stats that are related to that safety and any improvements they could make or are planning to make to this shopping center and have yet to hear back reporting here in Fremont Jack Moulmad, Cronk for news. There you go. That's what happened when yet another jewelry store got smashed and grabbed this time in Fremont, keep voting the same way, sweetheart. The only inventory you'll be left with are ring pops.

That's a huge problem this guy because he coddles the criminals, doesn't want to prosecute them, but let me tell you another problem and it's locally. It's called community policing. When you hear a city council woman or a city councilman say that on their website that they want community policing, that's a buzz word, a stealth word for defunding the police. We have three people in Whittier who are Democrats who are running, okay. We have a majority Republican on our city council. These people, Vicky Fentana District 2, Democrat, we have Ada Maceido in District 4 running. Then we have James Bacera running for mayor, he won't win, but these people, they're stealthy,

33:24they will put police, defunding the police, a new sales tax, and you name it, the whole gamut. So you've got to folks locally, you've got to run against, you've got to help your Republicans keep your minorities on your city council to help the Republicans win. You have to start regulating them like they're motorcycles and saying you need a driver's license to be able to ride them. You need to make sure that teenagers, if they're caught doing that, you find the parents, so the parents feel the pain in their pocketbook. And for heaven's sake, you need to stop subsidizing it because if putting these teenagers on these e-bikes allows you to patch yourself on the back and say that you're being green and you're spending cap and trade money appropriately, you're not. You're financing these little terrorists to go around harassing people. And I don't understand why the parents don't put their foot down.
