BURNOUT to A BALANCED LIFE Part 2

In part one we discovered the first 3 causes of burnout from Suzy McAlpine’s book BEYOND BURNOUT.

In summary, number 1 is OVERWORK, taking on way to much responsibility & not  saying no to overloaded work. Number 2 is LACK of Control , when you don’t control your environment you become a snowball heading down the mountain building up momentum creating an uncontrollable huge snowball. Isolation is the #3 cause of BURNOUT. Isolating & receiving no feedback to your life will bring you to VERY low energy levels.

Cause number 4 of Burnout. Insufficient reward. When the effort you put into your job, volunteer work, or passion project doesn’t match the inner or outer reward.
Number 5 cause is the ABSENCE of FAIRNESS. We all know that life is not fair.Examples of absence of fairness are:  Inequity in workload or pay, Cheating in the workplace,Inappropriate handling of promotions or evaluations, & Poor dispute resolution practices

The sixth cause of BURNOUT is when your personal values and goals do not in line up with those of the organization. 
The 3 red flags of BURNOUT are:
Chronic Exhaustion
Reduced Personal ACCOMPLISHMENT
Cynicism or Depersonalization

Firstly, Chronic Exhaustion looking at  Burnout is a chronic, debilitating and relentless exhaustion that’s prolonged.

Then Reduced Personal ACCOMPLISHMENT a growing overwhelming  sense of no achievement at all at work. In a future episode I will have Suzy here at VOICE POWER to do a deeper dive into what she experienced.
Let’s look at CYNICISM OR DEPERSONALISATION
Here are a few characteristics:   disillusionment, being with drawn,
absence of positive emotions.
