BSC Grads Reunite, Graduate Together

Around 65 students from the old Birmingham Southern College Class of 2026 linked up on their former campus this week. They're gearing up for graduation ceremonies this May after BSC shut its doors last year. The reunion pulled and folks now studying at schools like Samford University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, University of Alabama, Georgia, College and Center College. Houston Hartley, a Samford student, organized the whole thing to keep that BSC by-belive. When the college closed in 2024, 13 Alabama schools stepped up to take in transfers and Samford grabbed the biggest group 1, 151 strong. BSC leaders can't say enough about these students grit. Virginia Gilbert Lofton, the Vice President for Advancement, called them courageous for pivoting to new spots and keeping heart through it all.
