0:00Brush fires broke out in Tuscaloosa this afternoon, forcing several road closures along a railroad corridor, stretching from highway 82 to 25th Avenue East. Tuscaloosa fire rescue jumped on a quick, battling spots near Kicker Road in 25th Avenue East, south of Jack Warner Parkway. Some good news though, fires behind the Highlands neighborhood, and Coleman Coliseum got contained fast by the crews. Mayor Walt Maddox confirmed the main push is along those tracks, keeping things under control where they can. Road shut down include Jack Warner Parkway at 25th Avenue Northeast, Kicker Road, and Third Street Northeast, plus 25th Avenue, Northeast at Temahat Race. Folks are asked to steer clear so emergency teams got full access without traffic jams. Crews still working that active fire at Kicker in 25th, updated around 6.15pm.
