"BRUNO MARS - RISK IT ALL"

0:00Shepard, promise me you'll tell them to subscribe for a free content. Now when it comes to Bruno Mars, safe to say he is one of the greatest musicians that he've ever had on Planet Earth. And at first glance, you're probably saying to yourself, but we thought Drake was your goal. Is it okay I got my dope on me? Well, even though Drake is my personal goal, as a music connoisseur, there are particular artists in the industry that basically showcases there are levels to this. From playing instruments to dancing to singing, I don't think Bruno Mars has ever tried to rap, but you get the point not to compare him to a Chris breezy because you know I do call him the most talented individual I've ever seen. But at the same time, Bruno Mars is definitely one of the more talented individuals I've ever seen in the music industry. Now that out the way, safe to say he may or may not have just dropped a whole album titled

1:00The Romantic. I know it's been, it's been a minute, it's been a minute since we had a first solo album from, a solo album from Bruno Mars, because silk signing does not count because that was a collab album. But as far as his last solo album, technically speaking, I think it's been like almost ten years. Let me see, yeah, 24k magic, goodness gracious, November 17th, 2016. Now that's pretty much a hiatus if I ever seen one, as far as a solo album, but he's still been notoriously affecting the masses, especially with music as if you don't know. You know, if you've lived under a rock, then you probably didn't hear, die with a smile with Lady Gaga. You probably didn't hear the latest single for this album, I just might, that was a number one. I don't know if it's number one anymore. It's currently number six, as far as the most play track in the world. When you come to his track with Rosie, which is APT, that was also nominated for a Grammy, it ended up losing. I think it lost to like Ariana Grande or something, I wonder where. You guys.

2:00See, that's the problem. Anyways, he was nominated for a Grammy for that. So he's definitely been present, music wise, but as far as a solo album, it seems like he was really putting his soul into this album, no pun intended, because you know, one of the tracks is shepherd. All right, my fault. Let's get back into it. Anyways, the romantic is nine tracks, 31 minutes in length, not what you're saying, a 10-year hiatus for a nine track album, what guess what? Won't need to. Bruno Mars is a care about length. Won't need to. So, I post you guys, see, that's the problem. He basically cares about quality, and I am pleased to tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed this album. Now, of course, after my third or fourth listen, I come to realize that this is more of a playlist than the actual concept of an album, if that makes sense. Like, as far as errors, I think Bruno Mars is intentionally going into these specific errors, and I'm not going to say he's redoing them, because I think that would be disingenuous.

3:04The main thing is he wants to honor the older sounds by giving his voice to it, which is one of the more impactful and unique voices we've ever heard to these type of romantic ballads, modern pop, just like he did in the Soxonic era, when a lot of the inspiration came from 70s soul type music, a feature in Anderson Pack, right? And then, of course, 24-magic error, which in 2016 was a lot of 80s and 90s funk, so you can kind of see the pattern with Bruno Mars. He loves to dive into these specific sounds and just lend his voice to it. So, if you come to his albums from that perspective, you come to realize he is one of the greater singers we've ever heard. Now, when you combine that with the nostalgic effect of these type of sounds that he's going for, I think it works, especially for him. Now, is this my favorite Bruno Mars album? I think not. I think it may be a hot take, but Soxonic is a very concise and classic album in my opinion.

4:05It's one of the greatest albums I've ever heard. 24K Magic is his best album in my opinion. Now, when it comes to unorthodox jukebox, when it comes to the duwops and hooligans, those may be some avid Bruno Mars fans' favorite album, but for me, his top two in my opinion is 24K Magic and Soxonic. I don't know why, but I think Bruno Mars really fits in that old nostalgia bucket when it comes to sounds and samples and ballads, such as 80s and 90s funk, 70s soul. I think that's the perfect lane for Bruno Mars. So when it comes to this album, I'm not saying it's one of my favorites, but I'm also not saying it's bad. I think it's just a solid Bruno Mars album. I don't know if he's capable of making bad music, but actually, hold on now. Actually, that track he made with Sexy Red, no, I've got to say it because that track he made with Sexy Red has to be one of the worst songs I've ever heard in life.

5:06But then, you know what I'm saying? I'm like, team, look at the state of hip-hop, like, what's going on? Anyways, with the Sexy Red slanted out of the way, let's get back into a talented musician. So, Bruno Mars, when it comes to his album, Safe to Say has been ten years since his last solo, his previous solo album, which was 24K Magic that came out of 2016. That one album of the year. So do I think this album will be of the album of the year? I think it would be a stretch. I think it depends on the marketing strategy, it depends on how receptive people are to it because I don't think the sales are going to be through the roof and no, hey, before the Bruno Mars fans kill me, a non-track album is very hard to accumulate sales for, to compete with other albums that are 2016 tracks length, right, or tracks long.

6:06Because I think Don Tulliver would be the greatest example of this as his album was pretty short, not Don Tulliver, Baby Keen, I don't know why I got those two mixed up. Baby Keen, his album Casino, I believe, was also very short, yeah, that was 11 tracks. And I think Baby Keen did pretty well on the charts, let me see. Yeah, he debuted with 71,000 first week at number four, so Baby Keen currently has the fourth most played track in the world with 71,000 first week sales. And that had 11 tracks on it. So for Bruno Mars, also going off his career first week sales, I think he'll probably sell around 130 to 170. That may be a big gap, I think, I think honestly, he'll probably sell between 130 and 150. That's my, that is my projection for Bruno Mars, just off of what I'm looking at as far as career first week sales, the last, the last album that had super market, you know,

7:09super star appeal with only 11 tracks, comparing Baby Keen to Bruno Mars is why I'm late, it's why I'm at the projection of 130 to 150, because if Baby Keen did 70,000, with 11 tracks, I think Bruno Mars would probably do 130 to 150 first week. So that being said, getting back into some of the details about the album, the song risk at all is currently Latin influence and it's a ballerro ballad, hopefully I'm saying it right. And of course, the instrumentation is a lot of Marachi influence as his trumpet, violins, guitar run, guitar run, guitar, me on in the world, Vihuella, man, how you pronounce it, hold on man. I'm not supposed to pronounce that guitar on Vihuella, I say I wasn't going to pronounce it that way at all, like guitar run and Vihuella. So we have trumpets, violins, guitar run, Vihuella, all throughout the track, right.

8:10So that being said, there's already a music video for that particular track, which seems like that's going to be the main single outside of the I just might track, which is also on the album. But with this risk at all music video, it's also directed by Daniel Raymos, Danielle Raymos and Bruno Mars. So he's very much diving into the Latin culture for this album. As far as what I heard, I think it was more the same from Bruno Mars as far as R&B, but you can't really objectively speaking. There's a lot of Marachi influence in there, like objectively speaking, because we're talking about instrumentation when I talk about how it sounds. So he does have a lot of Latin influence into the music, whether it's a Latin jazz fusion, whether it's the congas, the strings. So objectively speaking, he is diving into that Latin music with influence. I'm just not hearing it as much as other people in. Of course, with me diving into the entire music industry, I think I'll probably pick it out or be able to point it out more than other connoisseurs out there.

9:12So anyways, Bruno Mars seems like he's going to have a very successful, and I think that's for outing with this album. I'm not saying it's going to flop in the slightest. Actually, I think it's going to do 130 to 150 first week. I think that's pretty good, especially for an album that only has non-tracks. It really just depends on the marketing strategy and how people gravitate towards it, you know, comparing it to like how much word of mouth it's going to affect this album. So with that being said, I think it was something else I was going to get into. I was at it. All that was basically it. The last thing I was going to get into is, you know, interestingly enough, all of Bruno Mars' music is about love. And I'm not going to get into how old he is, which he's 40, but not being married, not having any kids. Shepard. I'm just saying, you know, if he's put life experiences into the music, I don't know if he'll sound like this. So I think he's making up some fictional scenarios so he can come up with songs like risk it all. Songs like, why do you want to fight? I mean, obviously, that could come from anything, but you know, a lot of these tracks are

10:13very interesting for somebody who's that old that doesn't have any kids or a wife. You know, I ain't trying to be that person because future is still out here being super old, talking about tricking and things of that nature. So maybe Bruno Mars, on the other hand, is talking about love, long-term relationships, while, you know, it was known doesn't have to be said, even though I kind of just said it. So that was the last thing I wanted to get into. So, but Bruno Mars fans do know, I still think this album is phenomenal.
