Browns Sign Epenesa for Pass Rush Boost

0:00On March 19th, the Cleveland Browns have signed defensive lineman AJ Epinessa to a one-year contract worth up to $5 million. The 27-year-old spent all six of his NFL seasons with the Buffalo Bills before becoming a free agent. Epinese brings solid production to Cleveland's line, entering next season with 24 career sacks, 81 solo tackles, 29 tackles, 4 loss, and 53 quarterback hits. The Browns struggled last year with a 5 and 12 record, leading to the firing of head coach Kevin Stofansky, a two-time NFL coach of the year, who is now leading the Atlanta Falcons. In his place, Cleveland hired Todd Monkin to turn things around, and the team holds a sixth overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft to build for the future. This signing gives Monkin an experience past Russia right away as the Browns aim to rebound and make noise in the upcoming season.
