Browns Reunite with All-Pro Linebacker Williams

This reunion with their new defensive coordinator, Mike Rootenberg, brings back a player he turned into an all-protonin during four seasons together. Earlier this week, the Browns lost linebacker Devon Bush to the Chicago Bears, which stung a bit. But landing Williams as a direct replacement quickly calmed things down for the team and its fans. Meanwhile, questions linger about Jeremiah Awusu, Koro Moa, who has not played since a serious neck injury in October of 2024. Reports suggest the Browns might be planning without him, especially after drafting Carson Schwestinger early in the second round last year. Williams, now 29 years old, posted at least 100 tackles each of those four years under Rootenberg with the New York Jets. He bounced back from a down 2025 season, with just 83 tackles in 13 games due to a shoulder issue, and his skills as a tackler and pass rusher fit perfectly next to Schwestinger.
