Browns' Haslam Gives Watson Another Chance

On April 1st, Cleveland Brown's owner Jimmy Haslam just stirred the pot on their quarterback

mess, saying DeShawn Watson has a great chance to start in.

Considering Haslam called the trade for Watson a big swing and amiss just a year ago, basically

writing him off for good.

Fast forward, Watson's been with the Browns four years now, turning 31 in September,

but he's only suited up for 19 games since they ain't him to that fully guaranteed $230

million deal back in 2022.

Hasen looked like the three-time pro baller we knew from Houston.

Last season hit Rock Bottom with Watson out from two Achilles injuries, so they cycled

through Joe Flacco who got traded mid-season to the Bengals and rookies Dylan Gabriel

and Shedder Sanders.

That's the fifth straight year Cleveland's burned multiple quarterbacks in the starting

role.

ESPN's Adam Schaefter couldn't hide his shock on his podcast, but he takes Haslam at

his word, figuring Watson's getting another shot despite the baggage.

Fans and analysts are scratching their heads over this flip-flop.

Watson's due 46 million bucks this year, the last of his five-year contract, leaving

the Browns in a tough spot as they hunt stability under.

They're heading into another uncertain off-season.
