Browns Eyeing Stefon Diggs for WR Gap

On April 2nd, the Cleveland Browns kicked off free agency by beefing up their offensive

line and grabbing some depth players, but their biggest gap is, still-wire receiver.

They added Tylan Wallace, mostly for special teams, and he might not even stick on the

final roster.

Now General Manager Andrew Berry has a shot at veterans like Stefan Diggs, who still available

despite his drama.

Diggs put up solid numbers last season, with 85 catches on 102 targets, 1,013 yards,

and 4 touchdowns.

That's way better than Jerry Judy's 9 drops, and he'd give whatever quarterback the Browns

start a reliable target right away.

Fans and analysts see the baggage Diggs carries, but the Browns have ignored that noise before.

He's either the top or second best receiver left on the market, and at a projected market

value of 2 years, for 27.6 million dollars, Berry could snack him cheap on a short deal.

The team plans to draft at least 1 wide out in the first round, maybe 2 or 3, and Diggs

can mentor those rookies while competing to sharpen.

The group, not a forever fix, but he beats scraping by with unproven guys.

If the price drops low enough, expect Berry to pounce and plug that hole before training

camp heats up.
