Browns Acquire Tytus Howard, Strengthen Offensive Line

Cleveland sends a 2026 5th round draft pick to Houston, and locks Howard into a 3-year $63 million contract. Stention, Howard, a 29-year-old first-round pick from the 2019 draft out of Alabama State, has 93 starts over 7 NFL seasons. He is super versatile, lining up at right tackle last year for 555 snaps, left guard for 334, and right. Guard for 132, while playing 88% of Houston's offensive snaps. This move hits at the right moment for the Browns, since all five of their primary offensive line starters from 2025 are free agents. This offseason, their coach has stressed the need to build strong on the trenches on both sides of the ball. The extension gives Howard an average annual value of $21 million. That would rank him 17th highest among tackles, or tie him for third among guards, based on his position.
