Broncos Trade for Waddle, Dolphins Gain Draft Picks

For the NFL, it's March 17th, and here's what's going on.

The Denver Broncos are trading for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

According to a league source, the Broncos will send their 30th overall pick, a third round

pick, and a fourth round pick from the 20.

In return, they get Waddle plus a fourth round pick from the Dolphins.

Waddle is 27 years old, and was the sixth overall pick in the 2021 draft.

He signed a three year extension worth $84 million, $750,000 last year, and is under contract

through 20.

Last season, he had 64 catches for 910 yards and six touchdowns.

This adds firepower to the Broncos' receiving core, where he'll team up with Courtland

Sutton and Troy Franklin.

Over five seasons in Miami, Waddle racked up 373 receptions, 5,039 yards, and 27 total

scores.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins are reshaping the roster after releasing Tyree Kill.

They still have wide outs like Tutu Atwell, Jaylen Tolbert, and Malik Washington locked

in through 2026.

General manager John Eric Sullivan recently said he envisioned Waddle staying long-term

and wasn't shopping him or running back Dave on a chain.

If the deal goes through, Miami heads into the 2026 draft with seven picks in the top

100, including 11th and 30th overall.

That draft is set for April 23rd through 25th in Pittsburgh.
