Broncos Scramble for Running Back

0:00On March 10th, the Denver Broncos are scrambling to fill a big hole in their backfield after missing out on top free agents. Kenneth Walker signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. Tyler Algear went to the Arizona Cardinals and Travis Etienne joined the New Orleans Saints. That leaves General Manager George Payton and coach Sean Payton needing a reliable partner for young running back, RJ Harvey. Etienne's move to New Orleans has crowded their backfield, especially after the Saints reworked Alvin Kamara's deal to save $8 million on, his cap hit. At 30 years old, Kamara's production dipped last season, but a reunion with Payton in Denver makes sense. Payton knows how to get the most out of Kamara as a receiver on third downs. Fans in Broncos Country let out a collective groan when those top targets got away. The team needs a versatile back-to-help quarterback Bo Nix in the tough AFC West, especially after a playoff lost last January, exposed there. One dimensional offense. If Kamara stays put or gets too pricey, the Broncos could turn back to JK Dobbins, who sparked their run game with over 700 rushing yards.
